Alafornia's 1st Time Multistrain Medical Grow

Trying something a little different this time. I uploaded pics to the media gallery. Let's hope this works.

MH1 has just been a hoss from day one. First to sink (along with Orange Sherbet) and first to emerge from the soil. Just sturdy and steady. I chose this strain for high CBD and THCV. I'll have to use her to balance out the high THC plants in the medicine. (actually, Westley was first to sink with Orange Sherbet but MH1 was first by herself to pop out of soil - just needed to correct the record)

Northern Lights has done well also. I'm excited about growing this plant. A little is going into the medicine mixture but this should be a good nighttime med for Mrs. Alafornia all by itself.

Oh, Dear Westley - the plant that was just mostly dead. The movie version couldn't do much for a while either. I just know you're healing and I can see some new tiny leaves growing. Let's get up and go, now.

Orange Sherbet has been neck and neck with MH1 the whole time. She's a bit taller. Seems to be coming along quite well. Orange Sherbet is a calming, clear-headed medication. Just what we are looking for in the mixture.

Blueberry is coming along nicely, too. I'm glad because this was my one seed of it - a bonus seed. She should be good medicine as well. Another clear-headed medicine.

Next post will contain the rest of the bunch.

Pics continue in this post.

OG Kush #2 sprouted in 2 days. She's a little behind the others because I killed her sister, may she rest in peace. She is growing fast. This plant is a 1:1 strain at about 10%. @Zogs gave a smoke report here: Dinafem Og Kush CBD Auto

The medicinal properties really shine though and we are quite pleased by the results. The high is very relaxing but still leaves you feeling functionable to get things done. The taste is really hard to pin point. It has a sort of fruity and spicy flavor that is quite unique. She going to be even tastier in a few weeks after a good cure.

If you looking for a smoke that's going to knock you outta your boots, this one probably isn't for you.
If your looking for a chill relax session with good pain relief, I would definitely put this in your grow.

Thanks, @Zogs , just what we are looking for. A calming medication that doesn't give couchlock. You did a great job on your grow, BTW.

Zogs' is the auto version but I don't expect much difference.

White Russian #2, planted in case Westley didn't make it, is also growing fast. She has far surpassed Westley in height. Seems to be strong. White Russian is going to be some good medicine. This strain is extensively used in the autism sector and for good reason. I'm excited to be growing her.

The leaves are little monsters.
I am doing the same for my husband different strains for different times. Northern lights for bedtime it is. Thanks for info.

I've not had anyone disappointed with Northern Lights for sleep yet. Very relaxing and calming. Very good for insomnia and pain. Good for anxiety and PTSD.

From True North Seed Bank:

OG Kush CBD Feminized Seeds (Dinafem)

Details
OG Kush CBD cannabis seeds by Dinafem Seeds belong to a Sativa-dominant, feminized cannabis strain that originates from the cross of an OG Kush and a CBD rich strain.

OG Kush is what everyone in the States aspires to, which is not surprising at all given its complexity and high-quality.

All things considered, Dinafem Seeds could not miss the chance to create a high-CBD version noted for harmoniously pulling together both sides of the coin: the recreational part and the therapeutic part.

Dinafem are sure that OG Kush CBD will cast a spell on OG-lovers as well as on those users interested in tasting a plant with a more moderate effect and the ability to reduce anxiety, muscle tension or even stimulate their appetite.

As far as its effect is concerned, it has very little to do with the feminized and autoflowering versions. All those passionate about strains with complex flavours and aromas, accompanied by hints of lemon, petrol, wood and species, are sure to fall for this cannabis seed.

Especially, when they get to see how easy it is to obtain generous crops of compact and smelly buds.

OG Kush CBD marijuana seeds evolve into beautiful, slender plants with short distance between nodes and broad leaves. An organic farming method is preferred if to be used for therapeutic purposes.

Although a 1:1 THC/CBD ratio is guaranteed, some phenotypes can reach a 1:2 ratio if grown in ideal conditions.

OG Kush CBD is a cannabis plant that boasts a really intense flavour and aroma, with notes of lemon, oil, wood and species. Its effect, both physical and cerebral, is easy to put up with and can create a state of euphoria that remains for a while.

People looking for a rich flavour and gentle effect are going to love it.

Background:

I have never used cannabis. Ever. Not once. In any form.

So why the hell am I here doing this?!

Medicine. Pure and simple.

My sons have autism. They are high functioning. They are intelligent. They have comorbid conditions like chronic pain anxiety, and OCD. Their medications have offered little help.

My wife has BPD. She's unable to take any kind of antidepressant as it causes mania. Already an anxious person, life has added to it. Her medications offer limited help.

Still, cannabis was never really much of a thought, especially for my teenage son. Then autism and puberty combined to take a kind, fun-loving kid and make him a constantly angry and depressed young man. Still no thought of cannabis. Then he began striking out and hurting himself. Picture frames thrown down, glass everywhere. Chairs thrown over. Self harm, which I discovered one late night when he accidentally severed the tendons that make his fingers work and required surgery to restore function. That led to more medications, including some strong ones with significant side effects. They helped to some degree, but some of the behaviors continued. That's when we discovered CBD. And it helped some, but he was still angry and throwing things. I had to consider placing him outside the home. The one desperate option left before doing that was cannabis that included THC. And it has worked. In a few months it's like his mind has been healing over time. Fewer outbursts. Less anger. And slowly my happy, fun-loving kid has re-emerged. One tablet, three times a day of 5 mg of both THC and CBD has made this possible. And now it's time for me to try to make his medicine.

The older son has autism and chronic pain and takes the same medicine a few times a week. I wish he'd take it more often, but he's stubborn (don't know where he gets that from).

The wife now combines oral and inhaled. I frankly wish I could join her, but I am subject to testing so that's a firm "no".

A plant that I once hated and thought was an evil has saved my son and just may have saved my sanity. And now I love cannabis. I appreciate anyone who grows and/or uses it to help with whatever ails them (and those just having fun). I thank all those who preserved it through the years. I respect every "crazy" person who called it medicine.

Because without you all this miracle would not have been possible.

And so I'm genuinely excited to be here as a part of this great community and now growing this miraculous medicine. Thank you all for having me and understanding why I have spent months getting ready to take this ridiculous journey and grow six strains on my first attempt ever. I believe the combination of some or all of these strains will give my boy what he needs and help the rest of my family as well. If not, I have other strains to add to the mix once they're grown and I'll be grabbing a few more like Blue Dream and others (not to mention Big Bud by Sensi Seeds thanks to 420 sponsor The Vault!).

I'll be adding more space for vegging and drying before long. I have to supply. It's my job and I love it.

Look for a few pictures below to start things off. I'll try to get better at that, too.
Damn, great start!

Thanks, @John Wick . It seems if I don't do something to screw it up they do pretty well and even then, well, we'll have to see about Westley.
As usual, I'm late reading your journal, please forgive.

Seeds are soiled. What? Stop laughing. They are in soil. I actually just planted six mj plants. Still weird to me even though I’ve been planning this for months.

Found a few small holes in the ipower tent.

I may need a humidifier.

Lower pH is before watering and my water’s pH is about 7.3. It should float downward. First was 6.3 then 7.0.

Here are some pictures.

I've never tried a digital pH thing of ma jig. I use the test kit method, have you ever compared a test between the two? If so were they about the same?

Hey was ordering some other stuff at Walmart. They sell Neem. Organic. Food grade. Yes I am cheap, I admit it.

Nothing wrong with being cheap, especially if you don't have to step foot in there.

As usual, I'm late reading your journal, please forgive.

Nothing to be forgiven. Just glad to have you here.

Being a grow virgin, not a lot of experience. Considered both and just went with it based on convenience.

P.S from what I've read they are comparable.

Humm, I think I'll get one and compare. Thanks.

Light timers are set for 18/6 for now. I know the seeds don't need it down under that soil. Lights are as high as they'll go. Mainly just testing it all out to make sure it works as expected. Exhaust fan is off.

Since I had to order more 6" ducts I can't use the intake filter anyway so I opened up a couple of mesh vents because when the AC came on it was sucking the sides of the tent inward. Have spray bottles with water and neem oil. Went ahead and applied a small amount to the soil surrounding the humidity domes. Cinched everything up tight.

I feel like an expectant father.

It's a good feeling, isn't it! :thumb:

I hope do, getting tired of "drops ". Might have a check out Amazon tonight. Thanks.

Like a little tornado in the chest. Fluttering excitement mixed with the fear of wondering if you are really ready for this.

Hey @Alafornia ... just popping in for a peek at your progress.

You're almost two weeks into your journal ... you've passed the Germination phase ... and now you're into the Seedling phase ... they grow up so fast :)

I like the Orange Sherbert ... and the name is cool too ... I'll look that up:

0_orange-sherbert_circle_new_12_976008.jpg

That's a good looking cola! I like it even more now.

Pretty cool the first time isn't it! You do your research ... order your seeds ... then you actually have beautiful plants.

Me, ... I'm just amazed at how much variation there is to all this ... and how much there is to learn!

Have you researched quadlining yet? It's definitely a great way to learn about growing and training your plants.

Well, ... I hope you're having as much fun as I am amigo!

Everyone is looking good today.

Temp 81

RH 16%

That should improve after hanging a new damp towel.

Hey Bro, not like I want to interfere. What would be think about getting the RH up a bit more. Seedlings seam to love it, flowering doesn't. aka mold.

Little seedlings toddling there. Haha!

OS is going to be a good one. I think it will do great in the medicine and be a great daytime strain for Mrs. Alafornia. Calming without couchlock and clear-headed are the reviews.

I'm learning the best thing I can do is let them do most of the work. Just give them what they need and they give back.

Planning on doing some quadlining this grow, actually. Not sure which ones I should NOT quadline. Happy to take advice on that decision from anyone willing.

Having more fun than I thought I would. Thanks a bunch. Pull up a seat. Stay a spell.
