I do the same as Scott. I disassembled the heating unit in my old Nesco dehydrator, so it's only circulating air in there now. About 24 hours is usually good for cracker crisp.

4th harvest of 1st flush from the Purple Mystic AIO. Got 86 grams worth this morning, for a total of 325 grams. Probably one or two more harvests from this flush, then it gets another 50mL of water and goes back in the dark.

It looks like the 1st flush of the Purple Mystic AIO is about done- today I got only 2 good specimens around 20 grams combined, plus a few small stragglers. There are a lot of tiny ones that aren't developing much. If nothing happens (no growth) they'll be culled in a few days then the tub goes into the dark for a bit. Added another 50mL of distilled water to the tub.
Lots of white mycelium in both the BMC and PM-X monotubs, but no mushrooms yet. Something ought to be happening anytime now.

The Purple Mystic AIO has been vacationing under a dark towel for a couple days. This morning I opened it up to remove all the aborts and found lots of pins forming already and a burst of shrooms growing out the side near the bottom (where it most difficult to reach, naturely). Removed and collected a small handful of aborts that formed with the 1st flush but haven't matured. These little ones are often very potent. After that I put it back under a towel to carry on it's vacay, and had a peek at the Blue Meanie Cubes & Purple Mystic Monotubs.
There appear to be pins galore in both fully colonized tubs. Maybe some babies showing but too soon to be certain. Should be anytime according to the schedule. Increased FAEs in both tubs. They both smell good!

Wow! The Purple Mystic AIO has just exploded with new growth. Little baby shroomettes all over the cake, like, hundreds of them!
Added 50mL distilled aqua to the tub and been giving it more air by displacing the lid to make an 1/8" gap. Also covered it with a towel to keep it in the dark.

OMG! They Super-sized themselves! The two AIO Purple Mystics that is. They must be enjoying the water and extra air- the whole cake is covered with small shrooms. If just a 1/4 of them mature it will be a great harvest! The veils on the 2 large shrooms didn't break until this afternoon.

I will probably transfer my Purple Mystic to substrate today or tomorrow. I am still using cold inoculation method and it seems to be working well for me in reducing any chance of contaminants. I am also trying to find any information on this process. I can't be the first to try it this way.

I think the mushroom mycelium has helped my soil, Tok. I can't say how much though, because I also amended it with Geoflora (both Veg & Bloom) before transplanting. The plant is doing fab in it's SIP container.Looking great @BeccaBuds

Wow, I just can't believe the 2nd flush of the Purple Mystic AIO. It's just gone insane so I got more pictures and threw in BMC & PM Monotub updates. The BMC has several more sprouts today. PM still getting ready. Suits me fine if their fruiting periods are offset. It will be easier to harvest & dry that way.

Only one big one split it's veil today. These 2 photos of the AIO cake show it just before I picked it. Lots of new activity in both monotubs but still a little tiny for a smartphone camera, but I took a couple shots anyway. Added another 50mL water to the AIO tub.

Big harvest this morning- 100 grams even and many more on the way from the AIO. That brings the running total for the AIO to around 450g.
Projecting ahead and acknowledging that the monotubs are 60% larger than the AIO, I'm going to get more than 2 wet kilos total, something like 200+ grams after dehydration.

Just pulled another 59 grams from the AIO. Just amazing the way they grow so fast! Total is at 510g now.

And yet another 63 grams of Purple Mystic from the AIO today. That makes 3 harvests from the second flush, and this haul is 63g, for a daily tally of 222g, and a total of 572 grams wet, or about 50 grams dehydrated. There are still 4 or 5 more shrooms that should be ready before the night is over, and I think that's about it for the second flush.
I've also been saving and collecting all the little babies around the bases of the harvested shrooms. They will be for a special occasion!

I really enjoyed my Purple Mystic
I will, CL, maybe as soon as this weekend. It will be fun learning how big the 3rd flush is- I'm guessing the available nutrients in the cake may be getting scarce but we'll see.

with shrooms coming out everywhere, lol! HmmI had the same problem with growing everywhere and bunches of aborts but they are a lot worse problems than that. When are you thinking
, side-pinning must be just the way PM is. Actually, I've been microdosing on the produce from the AIO today. Nibbled a bunch of minis from the bases of the 4 I harvested, then I ate a 1/2" of stem from 3 of them. A light buzz from a microdose but I def feel it.
Not as much body load as Blue Yeti. Getting kinda giggly too.
