Aberration Goes Ker Bloom! - Perpetual

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Thanks all. :thanks: It is going well this round.

Code:
--> MTO2, MTO3, OC6, OC7, MTN3, MTN4 (*VEG*):
1. Feed: 3/4 gal for MTO2, 1/4 gal for rest
   Per gal:
	 1 T Pure Blend Pro Grow
	 .5 t  Companion
   Dilute to 820 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.24 @ 22.4 C

--> OC5, MTN1, MTN2
1. Flush: 1 gallon plain water ea

Back to the trimming...

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Code:
--> OC3, MTO1:
1. Pre-flush: 1/2 gal.
   Per gal:
	 1  T  liquid bone meal
   6.20* @ 22.6 C

2. Feed: 1 gal. ea.
   Per gal:
	 2  t  Soil Nute
	 2  t  PGE
	 1  T  Notrazyme
	 1  oz yucca
	 2  t  Biggest Bloom
	 2  t  liquid bone meal
	 2  t  Feather Tea
	 1  oz Amino Blast
	1/2 t  Carbon sweet
	 1  t  Cal-Mag
         1  T  Calcium Syrup
	 1  t  Companion
   Dilute to 1295 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.23 @ 21.8 C
Code:
--> OC1:
1. Feed: 1.5 gal.
   Total for 1.5 gal:
	 2 T Pure Blend Pro Bloom (1-4-5, soil and coco formula)
	 1  oz yucca
	 1  oz Amino Blast
	 1  t  Carbon sweet
         1  T  Calcium Syrup
	 1  t  Companion
   Dilute to 1320 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.23 @ 22.7 C

--> OC5, MTN1, MTN2
1. Flush: 1 gallon plain water ea

* It just hit me that the pre-flush with bone meal only is pretty much just phosphorus with some calcium. For both the mixture should be pH'ed to about 6.4, as both are more easily absorbed at that pH than at 6.2. I need to integrate that into my feeding routine.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

So I surveyed how fast the trimming is going and how much there is to trim. We will be at this for far too long. Three days and less that 1/3 of MTN1 is trimmed. OC5 is now overdue as well. Even if I spread the harvests evenly, it's still a plant every 10-15 days. Since there is only two of us, and clearly we are not very fast, this won't work. I don't want to be perpetually trimming - I want a life.

So after speaking to my mentor, I am going to leave the trimming to professional 'manicurists'. It's what he does, and he is very happy. They would normally be in Norcal by now, trimming for big ops there on a seasonal basis, but the folks he hires have enough indoor grow business right here, and they want to be able to go home at the end of the day. So they aren't going any more.

I've seen their work, and it is fantastic. The charge is about $60/plant, which is really reasonable, maybe even crazy-cheap. I'm not a poor man (heavens knows I probably spent 8K on my grow room) and I can afford it. With an average over 6oz/plant, that's a cost of < $10/oz. So cheap I can't pass it up.

Also, I can use my mentor's drying room, which is nice.

So I just cut off the upper 2/3rds of MTN1 and stacked it in a clean box, as he explained I should. I'm headed over to give it to them now. If all goes well, they will get the greater part of OC5 tomorrow night or the day after as well. This means I can spend time with my wife, which makes us both happy.

Lastly, it turns out I've been too stoned to notice that MTN1 is actually Orange Crush. Doh. <facepalm> I see it clear as day now. It's still good. I won't bother to change the identifier/name.

I'll be back with my feeding report later tonight. I might even show you how badly I savaged MTN1 just now.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Dude, this is just awesome. Another great job I'll be looking into, trimming. Once I make it out to nor-Cal that is ;).

Abberration, please post some bud porn later bro!!! I demand it, I need it and I want it ;)

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

One of those auto trimming machines might be a good investment

I thought about it, but I think it implies things I don't want implied.

Traded MTN4 away and got KK1 (Kaia Kush) in her place. I'm hoping to trade another veg princess away for a Lavender.

I also realized I was supposed to start flushing OC3 yesterday. I'm not feeding her tonight, so I will start that tomorrow with OC1.

Code:
--> MTO2, MTO3, OC6, OC7, MTN3, KK1 (*VEG*):
1. Feed: 3/4 gal for MTO2, 1/2 gal for KK1, 1/4 gal for rest
   Per gal:
	 1 T Pure Blend Pro Grow
	 .5 t  Companion
   Bring up with Bioactive to 900 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.24 @ 22.6 C

--> OC5, MTN1, MTN2
1. Flush: 1 gallon plain water ea

Here's some now! :ganjamon:

Here is the new KK1. She's 22" tall:

Here is a closer look. No bud here, I guess:

OK, here's a lot of it, but because I can't find the good camera, I have to use the old one, which can't deal with HPS light at all. This is so you can see how much of MTN1, in the foreground, I chopped off earlier:

Here's a shot after I dragged it into the other room:

Ragged eh? I'll take the rest over Sunday.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Feeding just got easier. I no longer have multiple bloom mixtures going. The two plants that are being compared (OC1 & OC3) are both now in flush. Much faster.

Code:
--> MTO1:
1. Pre-flush: 1/2 gal.
   Per gal:
	 1  T  liquid bone meal
   6.34 @ 22.8 C

2. Feed: 1 gal. ea.
   Per gal:
	 2  T  Budswel (0.01-0.10-0.01)
	 2  t  PGE
	 1  T  Notrazyme
	 1  oz yucca
	 2  t  Biggest Bloom
	 2  t  liquid bone meal
	 2  t  Feather Tea
	 1  oz Amino Blast
	1/2 t  Carbon sweet
	 1  t  Cal-Mag
         1  T  Calcium Syrup
	 1  t  Companion
   Dilute to 1300 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.25 @ 23.0 C
Code:
--> OC5, MTN1, MTN2
1. Flush: 1 gallon plain water ea

--> OC1, OC3
1. Flush: 1 gallon water
         2 T Clearex per gallon

It's about time I get going on automation. I have enough phidgets to control heat and humidity in both rooms. A couple more and I can transfer lights to computer management. I just need to quit goofing off and get the software finished. Or at least to a working state even if I have to hard-code values. I should get going on that.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I'm working on the software.

---

Code:
--> MTO2, MTO3, OC6, OC7, MTN3, KK1 (*VEG*):
1. Feed: 3/4 gal for MTO2, 1/2 gal for KK1, 1/4 gal for rest
   Per gal:
	 1 T Pure Blend Pro Grow
	 .5 t  Companion
   Bring up with Bioactive to 900 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.27 @ 22.9 C

I started to flush the 5 girls that have it coming, but they are all quite damp. I'm giving them a breather tonight.

---

I checked some of the small amount I manicured and hung before Friday. It looks like I may have my dryer dialed in. It seems to be drying slower.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I delivered the remainder of MTN1 plus all of OC5 to the 'manicurist'. When I got back I found that one of the larger tips of MTN2 was broken over and splayed at the bend badly. I thought of staking it back up, but then I realized this is day 65 for MTN2 and she should be about right for harvest.

I checked the trichomes with a scope and they are about 30% cloudy. So I trimmed up the top myself and hung it to dry. The rest will probably wait for the 'manicurist'. They will finish the two I already gave them before they leave, but they are going to be gone for a week after tomorrow. Matty is flexible and it won't hurt to go an extra week. In the meantime, I'll have a taste in a week.

Code:
--> MTO1:
1. Pre-flush: 1/2 gal.
   Per gal:
	 1  T  liquid bone meal
   6.43 @ 22.3 C

2. Feed: 1 gal.
   Per gal:
	 2  t  Soil Nute
	 2  t  PGE
	 1  T  Notrazyme
	 1  oz yucca
	 2  t  Biggest Bloom
	 2  t  liquid bone meal
	 2  t  Feather Tea
	 1  oz Amino Blast
	1/2 t  Carbon sweet
	 1  t  Cal-Mag
         1  T  Calcium Syrup
	 1  t  Companion
   Dilute to 1330 ppm
   Bring up with liquid lime to pH 6.37 @ 22.4 C
Code:
--> MTN2
1. Flush: 1 gallon plain water

--> OC1, OC3
1. Flush: 1 gallon water ea.
         2 T Clearex per gallon

BTW, remember the lavender I grew a round ago? It's been curing for more than 2-1/2 months. It's dense and strong and puts me into deep stonesville really fast. It's maybe a touch harsh, but otherwise the smell, taste, and high are great. I smoke about a gram at a time. Good for pain. Not good if you need to carry on a conversation (you'll forget what you were saying mid-word) or if you plan to sit on the couch (you'll go to sleep). It's my best pain medicine.

Gotta get me another cutting of that.

I'll try to find the camera and throw out some pictures of the state of the stash. Hopefully tomorrow.
