i don't have any of the additives, i'm going to just use the base Aqua line, and see what happens...
:thankyou:

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

I'm really having trouble deciding whether to switch nute brands this grow. I used all GH last time, based on the Flora line, and was going to try Hesi this grow, but I got such great results on my very first grow with GH I'm tempted to go ahead and use it again this time. Will have to decide today or tomorrow, since the seedlings are starting to peek out of the Rapid Rooters already.

Plus, I have all this GH stuff already on hand...

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

gh .. easy to use no fuc ups unless you cant read .. affodable for budget growers and comes with a beginer and expert feeding program , you can also dial in your nutes better with the calculator they have..but its what you prefer that matters

Wow!!! it looks like FOX FARM is going to be the first to break a 100 votes. Thanx to every person who added to this poll along w/ 420 for being cool enough to allow it to go on , and keep it going. Again, Thank you 420 and every member who has and will contribute to this poll.

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

Wow!!! it looks like FOX FARM is going to be the first to break a 100 votes.

I wonder if that is because Fox Farm is commonly used in both soil and hydroponic grows, while most of the others are often thought of as "hydroponic nutrients?" I mean, sure, the others can be used with good affect in soil as well with different ratios/mixtures - but Fox Farms makes it easy for people to realize this by producing both a Grow Big Liquid Plant Food and a Grow Big Hydroponic Plant Food component. And of course they make the excellent line of soils that are often recommended to growers, which would also be a no-brainer of sorts to people wondering what to feed plants grown in their soils.

That's why - when I did a soil grow in their soils once upon a time - that I used their nutrients (with the soil Grow Big component); I like no-brainers too:ganjamon:. But as I had done a lot more hydro grows with another brand, I chose that one in your poll.

Still and all, I am glad that you posted your poll. It is interesting to see in one thread what others use. Speaking of "other," I was surprised that second-place (as of now) is the Misc. category with 80-some votes. I figured that with the choices you listed by name that there wouldn't be such a large percentage of people selecting that answer. I hope most of them list the nutrient brand that they use in a post.

Thanks again for the poll!

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

Thanx for the input. I completely agree w/ you about the no brainer. F.F makes one hell of a soil nutrient line. My veg. garden eats it up. I use G.H and H&G indoor. I've been testing the H&G in the veg garden.bUt Imust say that The garden response better in soil using FF. and as far as I recall almost everyperson who has voted on the poll has stated what line they are using.

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

For nutrients I am running my own salt mix based on the Lucas formula which in my comparison grow so far is keeping up to gh (floranova and floralicous plus). GH which only thing negative I have to say is it clogs my dripper lines a bit faster than my salt mix. Wouldn't be a problem in flood and drain systems.

In the past have used Pure Blend and Pure Blend Pro really like both of them. One of my buddy's is running pureblend pro in a system very similar to mine so I am keeping an eye on his results for comparison. Lot of people here are using pure blend and getting good results.

I am still thinking of getting back into coco and organics then my money is on Mother Earth Juice. Used that years ago and had really good results.

Have an Advanced Nutrient T-shirt but only used a few of there products.

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

as I have stated in the past, I am using the AN line. . .

well, this past grow, I tried out the Bud Factor X. . .

WOWSIE!!!!! i have nothing but great things to say about this product.

everyone should use it. I used to think the FF cha-ching was the bees-knees but now I am all BFX!!! that shit frosted up my plants like white Christmas present.

its expensive, but you use small doses. i used 2ml/gal weeks 1-6 in flower. and 500ml was $80. everyone should try this.

What nutes are best from hydro? And do they have all the trace elements and micronurtients in them? I am about 3 weeks away from finishing buying all my supplies and the store im using is nehydro.com :peace:

For first time hydro I would go with PureBlend if you want more organic or GH floranova series (as long as you aren't doing drip). For both a little cal/mg wouldn't hurt if you are using RO. They are really simple and both work well. Really any good quality brand GH, Canna, Advanced etc. for the first grow will be fine. Wouldn't mess around to much with additives the first time round. Thats my two cents anyways.

Good info., Roots is right, first tme I would go Genreal Hydro.. they are a great starting program. BC tecnaflora makes a kit called the starters kit. it has a basic guidline to fallow, gives great results. Its good for 1.5 cycles. Its like 35 bucks. Its got everything in it. From B1 to Carbo's. but as I stated Spot on Roots.Sart off basic and move your way up. +rep Roots

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

Agreed. One of the more common brands of nutrients will allow you to use a "basic cannabis recipe" - such as the Lucas formulas for GH - posted on this site as a good general starting point. It will also guarantee that there will be plenty of people here with experience in using your nutrients should you have a problem and need to post a question. Do not cause nute-burn by overfeeding and refer to our many fine stickies/faqs when needed. Remember that as a general rule, sativas are lighter feeders than indicas - do not feed them from the same reservoir with the same feeding schedule.

First time go easy and try to learn many of the basics, second time you might get a little more aggressive (and maybe burn your plants, lol), third time you'll probably have some experience at "reading" your plants to learn what they need - especially if you grow the same strain for each of your first few times.

Well said, those are some words of wisdom. +rep :bravo::bravo:

Re: A poll to see what kind of nutes are prefered.

A great transition is underway in my garden. I've moved from the basic Fox Farm trio w/ humic and molasses to the new General Organics nutrient line.

000_0229.JPG

So far I've only begun too feed it to my Mother plant and she has responed positvely.
The mixing formula is one of the easiest.
For grow it's 10ml of BioThrive Grow and 2.5 ml of BioWeed per gallon.
For bloom it's 10ml of BioThrive Bloom and 2.5 ml of Bio Bud

I plan to use the supplement Bio Marine in between feedings along with the additions of Medina's Horticulture Molasses and Earth Juice Humic Acid.

No PH adjustment is needed with any of these nutes. It is also recommended to use what I mix right away rather than making a batch of fertilzer and let it sit around and become toxic.

Working with this line is interesting. They are not the sludge type of organics but they are thick and can stain. The bottle makes it somewhat difficult to pour out in a clean manner so today I'm heading to my supply house for some large syringes to draw the nutes from the bottle rather than pour them.

They each have a nice earthy smell. The Bio Thrive Grow actually smells like worsteshire sauce.

I must say that I'm very excited for this transition. I've always enjoyed organic gardening but the stinky sludges have kept me away until now. I doubt I can officialy consider my garden organic because of my aeroponic cloning technique but it's a step in a more eco friendly direction for me and my plants.

Retail pricing for this line is $16 per bottle except for the Bio Bud which is $37 per bottle. Using only 10ml and 2.5 ml mixtures should make these bottles go a long way.

I use one of these 60ml syringes from my hydro store, with a piece of left over PVC hose from my airstone install:

Just cut the hose long enough to reach the bottom of your nute bottles.
