600W LED Grow

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

You can take full advantage of the inverse square law by growing vertical, surrounding the bulbs with plants to catch the light.

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

Ive been waiting for someone to make a led bulb or something we could grow vert with. that would be sweet. something that is around 200w or so of leds then you could hang and spread them out all over ur grow space.

I've decided this is the best use for CFLs. Horz I think a t5 is a hair more efficient. Vert, however, can just drop the bulb right into the canopy. A plant really needs to be pressed against one of those cfls to burn. Definitely gonna do that w/a few spare cfls I have.

EDIT: I'm talking the 125w and 250w cfls, not the little uns.

Then you should check out this: MasterColor&reg Pulse Start Lamps,
or this: MasterColor® CDM Elite Medium Watt
noting the 'browse lit' for the 3000K lamp

thanks ill check those out.

true, but like you said u need to use the bigger ones for sure. i might throw a few in next grow..

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

I understand vertical but call me old school. To me when I think about it... it is so inefficient. Yes you can grow a shit loud of plants colosseum style but the plant is only growing buds facing the light. Nearly 35% of the plant does not receive light so in a sense your just wasting space.

360 degree of the plant is not receiving light....to me that just does not sit well.

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

hi irish, i'm having a hard time getting up the nerve to break the glass on my 180 watt led from mike. for one i don't see how u can throw a sparkplug at a 2 grand fixture and expect it to hit on the porcelain side when the tip is a metal electrode and the top side is still metal and the sides where the socket fits is a bigger diameter then the porcelain body. is it physically possible to get the porcelain body of a spark plug to even touch the glass without modifing the sparkplug buy cutting off the tip cause i'm thinking of just going to a glass shop or buying a glass cutter.... as u can see my balls are nowhere near as big as yours or mikes:hmmmm:

Just break a piece of the ceramic part off of the spark plug, then just flick it at the glass.:goodluck:

lol, the only reason why i had the balls to do it is because i dont care! i didnt pay a dime for the light, if i did pay 2g's then i would have thought about it a little bit.lol..

i took the tip off of the spark plug grab that bi**h and threw it porcelain side right at it and its a done deal. but you could always get a glass cutter and play it safe.

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

i didnt use ceramic at all ... i used a thick towel tripled over and a screwdriver with a rubber mallet. cut all the glue away first the best I could, then taking the towel over the edge of the glass on the smaller length of glass side on the edge ... where there are no lights underneath ... put the head of the screwdriver right against the glass and the metal lip on top of the towel and hit it. glass broken. then i did it on the opposite side.

In other words ... you eye up where no LED is underneath ... fold up a towel a couple times ... put it on the glass ... take the head of the screwdriver making sure the towel is between it and the glass ... push the head of the screwdriver right against that lip that holds the glass ... give it a whack.

it doesn't take a "I haven't inserted my penis into a woman in months swing" haha ... just gradually whack it harder until the glass breaks being careful not to overswing. its not hard ..really.

be sure to have something handy to pick up the glass with ... leather gloves and possibly a piece of balled up tape sticky side out ..and a shop vac / dust buster to get all the shards out and to protect your hands from cuts.
