600W LED Grow

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

BTW - Mikes new batch of lights comes without the glass. I just ordered two 300W and they won't have the glass. I think that is totally kewl how fast Mike upgraded his lights after determining there was an improvement (thanks to the testing of Mike, Irish and maybe others).

Progress :grinjoint:

Sweet grow brudda :bravo:

ya thats a real cool deal. your gonna like those lights so much better without the glass. let me know when u get them

The ceramic on spark plugs is harder than glass, so it easily breaks it when you flick it against it.

Car thieves use this method to break out windows with very little noise.

They're known as "ninja rocks".

My original post said that too, but I guess it got edited. must have been my choice of words :reading420magazine:

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question or has been asked before... If there are 576 LEDs in this "600w system" and each is 3w then wouldnt that make this light a 1500-1700 watt light? Any independent testing of the power consumed by this light would be nice... Again, I am new so if this has been addressed already Im sorry.

none of the leds lights drawl full power from the leds 1w leds dont use 1w and the 3w dosent use 3w it using less.

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

I dont want to seem too skeptical because you are obviously having success with this 600w LED, but... Has anyone done an independent test (aside from Mike) on how many watts of power this 600w actually uses? Sorry for the negative vibe on this but before I get my hopes up I want to have some unbiased facts.

its uses 729w. seen it myself on a watt meeter.

re: GLH 600W LED Grow

but have you by chance actually checked to see the actual draw. would be pretty insane if it were still even pullin 1.5w per 3w diodes. that bumps that 600w's right on up there to 900w actual power draw. now as we pointed out earlier it'd be nice to get more watts than what you're actually paying for, however you certainly better be gettin that yield as well. is there anyone with one of mike's lights that have bothered to hook it up to a meter to see actual draw? i've sent him a few pm's and emails but i dont think he likes me much lol....

Cool, thanks! :thanks:

I just bought an 850w 3w/3chip (actual power used is 840w). It only has 296 LEDs and runs each LED at full power.

My LED theory:

total wattage + light intensity at the leaf + light color = Harvest Weight and Quality

I wonder how much higher the intensity of the light reaching the leaves when the 3w LED is run at full power...

i know when the 3w are at full power them get real hot and have heat problems and the life span on the leds dosent last as long. this is what i have been told by allot of people. dont know for sure? idk if 296 (3w) leds are that much more instens then 600 leds in one light? i wonder? it also depends on what angle leds they use? .120 degree,90 degree, 60 degree this makes a huge difference on intense light. keep me posted how that light works for you bro. always down to see some leds grows.
