5 Unknown Strains - 2012 Grow

the picture I uploaded was the plants in DWC bucket. They were 100% female before the CS was added to the res. the picture that was uploaded with the purple circle which is pointing out the nanners which look like tiny small bananas are the male hermie parts.

huh, I was looking at the one with the circle. I guess it looks a little different from the hermie plant I just pulled. On both my hermies, the male flowers looked like normal flowers. They were just tucked under a cluster of female flowers.

Now as for the book. There's alot of myth busters in there and the run down on LED lights vs HPS/MH. Nutes etc. It lets you know what products are best to use and which ones to stay away from. Lets you know which hoods to use and the max each wattage bulb can produce if everything is done right. I use to have my lights really close to the plants. Come to find out that's a big no no. It's very informative on this new era of growing. It definitely will tell you to KEEP IT SIMPLE! :) All in all it's a fun book to read. It has lots of pictures :) :laughtwo:

Does it talk about specific brands and models, or is it more generalized? I'd hope it's the later since the former would be out of date before the book finished being printed. :biglaugh:

That sucks about the coco. But when you get it you can easily just repot once they get root bound in the next size pot. I had done it before and the roots take very fast to the coco. If you had got the kilo brick your going to need a 5 gallon plus bucket when you soak the brick in water. Because its hard to break sections off if you want to use just half or a piece of it. That is u less u have a chain saw :laughtwo:

I'm not sure which coco you're using, but I can say from experience, DO NOT put the entire brick of GH CocoTek into a 5g bucket and then add water! If you do, at least you'll have something to do for an hour or so.

Yea were talkin about the same picture. When you add CS or force a plant to hermie it won't grow balls it will just sprout nanners. This is my first time doing this so it's pretty new to me. There's no balls on or around the nods. As time goes on if there's any more changes in apperisnce I will update to let you guys know. I won't be adding any more CS to the res since the plants are starting to produce seeds.

The book specify's the top brands and products to work with. Lumatek electronic ballast. is the top ballast & nutrients runs from GH to AN, Humbolt, SNS, etc. Actually I don't think advance nutrients was mentioned. but it says you can grow with anything & get great results. Just make sure the light source is great. Great White is the best myccorazae on the market it states. They also mention that LED's are not yet ready to be used for great growing. It doesn't compare to a MH/HPS. Anything else you would like to know ill look into the book and find the answer

Week 3 of flower (from flip)
Hey guys, did res change today and let the plants roots soak in bleach, flora klean, and b-1. Did this to strip the access CS or what ever else that may have been leaching on the plants roots. The CS I used has no sodium/salts in it at all. I shouldve uploaded a picture of the specs. Had a discussion on GG7 journal about if the buds would be harmful to consume after a treatment of CS added to the res? I only used 5-10ml of CS which was one treatment before the plant hermied and started to produce nanners/seeds. So Im thinking its slim to none that it wont have a trace with in the buds before I harvest these babies.

Any who, I took a couple more snap shots of the plants in DWC to show Hiker that theres no balls around nor on the nods at all. Just proof that the plants are and were 100% female before the CS treatment. So these are new fresh shots I took today.

Is that a nanner in the first pic? Sort of around 10:00-11:00 on the bud?

just got a e-mail from amazon..coco been shipped...suppose to be here thursday...i got one of those rope tubs from walmart ...going to cut the brick in half..

The rope barrel should actually hold it all. It's sides are also angled out, so as the coco expands, it will just push up. The 5G buckets have vertical sides, so it just pushes straight against the sides and wedges itself in tight. I was impressed the bucket didn't split!

Walmart rope tubs, like a boss!

Well I almost had a perfect grow with no problems. I wouldnt really call it a problem but the Indica plant in the 5 gallon bucket of coco has to much nitrogen and its been slowing the flowering bud production. Been following the BPN 2part nute chart which is Grow 10ml/gal & Bloom 20ml/gal. Theres no nute burn just way to much nitrogen stored in the plant. The leaves are shinny dark green. Ive been doing regular watering just with additives no base nutes. So hopefully in the next week or 2 the plant will use up most of the nitrogen and go back into major bud production. Cheese Wiz Qush plants are looking good. There just coasting.

i started my 1st feed...1/4ml/gal for sprouts,,,1/2ml/gal for month old and above..i got a repeat..this WS is developing just like my last Mutant..its stem is getting flat..pics up in a couple days..i'm positive it will grow nuts..what do you think..keep or kill ??..i'm going to increase feed dosage by 1/4/gal every feed...thats twice a week...until i get to the recommended dose..i don't want to over nute...

Hey Wiz....glad your CS experiment worked to your liking. Great job! I am going to purchase some landrace genetics myself for my own breeding purposes. I am interested in preserving the older genetics and picking phenos etc myself. Breeding seems to be a very involved system cant wait to dive in.

:peace:

Wouldn't nuts off a mutant be more likely to give you another mutant? I say give it the ax!
