5 Unknown Strains - 2012 Grow

i agree, if i bought a new ballast and bulb then id keep the one im using now as a spare, or as mentioned have 2 rooms set up, one for veg and one for flower, hmm thats get my thinking about doing the same thing,

But I also have a 4ft 4bulb T5 that I veg with. I wouldnt have no room for these lights. Only way Ill keep the 400w MH/HPS is if I buy a second one and use them both in the same area. I need a light that will be able to penetrate 10 plants and up. I hear ya Fish on the ballast breaking but whats the %s of that happening? I hate wasting money ya know. Ill for sure keep the bulbs. I may keep it for a while. IDK I just need help setting up this room for everything I want to do in it. Starting to confuse my self. lol:confused:

probebly a slim chance. BUUUUTTTT if it did its always good to have a plan B

Yea Fish I guess your right. I may just have to add another convertible in the room so I know its being utilized. I have to do some home work on hoods though. I know I want the cool tube but should I go 400w or 600w? See its the right side of my room that the light starts to fade. Its around 1000 or a little under on the light meter. So plants tend to lean more towards the T5 instead. Which is on the right side for more light. Those 5 gallon buckets are taking up to much space to me. Either that or I just need a better hood or higher watt.

Hey wiz,awesome job,keepin those cutting's green through rootin:thumb:
Thanks Thresher. Honestly I dont know wtf I be doing but it works. Honestly I just put nutes in the bottle and spray them 3x a day. And since im using a heating mat, I try to keep my temps above 80 and also my humidity at 80. The faster I get them to root well the better. But I have notice a difference between smaller clones and bigger ones as in the stems. They will root faster and keep there green, while the softer stems tend to lose there flare over time and begin to wilt and those need more attention. Actually double the attention. All my smaller clones grew roots and died. Go figure smh!

Hey what happen to your journal you had up? Or what was i on of yours that showed your plants?

No .... you can't sell it. You'll have to do a 1000w flower room and a 400w veg room. That would be something else.

Muttt tryna have my electric bill on channel something News at 11 lmao. Hell no. Thats to much electricity coming out of my apt. My electric company offers a website to check on my usage, and what exactly im using it on. So I have to stay at a normal house hold. I go over just a little some times but once it hits the red or about to be out of the orange zone then I back off a bit. Which never happened I just dont want it to get there, so I may stay with 2 400w or just add a 600w and go with my T5 for vegging.

Dang! Sorry for ur lost..

In general most of my clones are smaller then ur big ones that survive.
The ones i take have at least 4 nodes i cut a 45degree on bottom node lightly scrape stem to the second node up and bury it there.

I use zero nutes but,i do use a foilar spray called Anti-Wilt it's made by Vita-grow i never clone without it..
It is basicly a light wax sealant that aids in sealing ur leaves preventing transpiration and wilt.

U might wanna check it out.it could make the diffrence on ur smaller cuttings..
Out of 40 cuttings i take each month for my sog,i have a success rate of 95 percent ir better..
Go figure..

Oh, on that anti -wilt..forgot to mention it comes in a concentrated form and is mixed at a 7 to 1 ratio..
It really goes a long way because it's only applied once ;)

Thats what i was looking for, just didnt know the name of the stuff. Im writing this down now. So you dont use any cloning gel or powder? I dont know what % does cloning gel have on the success of rooting? No point in buying it if i dont need it to root. The ones that died didnt have any nodes. Maybe 2 but they were literally small as shit. No more than a inch. So I take that back they only have 1 node.

Yea im trying to see the results in the making with with Kool Bloom so I know what to expect. Ill be posted to your journal to see. How are the plants taking the amount your giving them? Whats the amount you started giving them?
They seem to be taking it really well. I started out with 3ml/gallon of Liquid Koolbloom. Then once they were used to it, I upped it to 5ml/gallon. I'm now at day 42 and tonight will be my second feed of Koolbloom dry. Feeding just a bit over 3/4 of a teaspoon per 3 gallons. (instructions call for 1/4 teaspoon per gallon..) Plan on running it right up til flush, and ease off on the CO2 near the end..
I'd be interested to hear what others are dosing with Koolbloom dry. Gotta do some looking around for some info.
But right now I gotta go mix up 3 gallons of Food for the ladies, and I'll be updating my journal tonight with lot's of photos!

Yeah,at 4 nodes im about 3-4 inches..some of my cuts i take off my bonsai moms are as long 7 inches with those i split and make 2 clones.
But i always cut 45degree right on the bottom node and bury between 3rd and 4th node..da roots tend to sprout out at those node points first..

I use olivia's cloning gel its a little thicker in consistancy then clonex gel..they are both rooting hormones. We dont need them in hydro-cloners but,for rooting in plugs or soil they greatly improve our odds..so i'm all about gaining an edge when it comes to down to it..

Ill be stopping by. I was just on there leaving a post about the hood. But you say 5ml? Damn your plants are really taking it in. I was watching a youtube video and the guy said his friend got up to 10ml but his plants couldnt take more then 1.67ml. Your using co2 maybe that might have something to do with it because that will help the plants be able to uptake more. Why back off the co2 though? I guess ill wait until you update your journal.

Ok so they do have a higher % for roots. I havent heard of the cloning gel you use. Got to look that up also. Since I ran out of clonex i had to settle with my powder crap. I hope it works. As i figure all rooting hormones should work. Ill be getting some more gel though. Clonex did me good so I may stick with that. Thanks for telling me about that foliar spray for clones. :thumb:

P.S. I feel like TG is playing the journal watcher. He's liking post just passing by camly eating a sandwhich and shit! lol:laughtwo:

Yeah, but was puzzles me is u got those small ones to root at that point u should be on ur way..
Then all of a sudden they turn south and keel over on u...that shouldn't be..

That's why keep suspecting ur not hardening them enough before full exposure or being how small they are ur nutes might be gettin to um..

Oh,about my journal..don't have one.i just felt the need to drop those pics on mutts journal just to back my words considering i was giving advice on all the cloning issues..

I'm already in a full blown 80 plant sog grow,so even if i was to start a journal i wouldn't know where to begin:dreamy:

And besides that,i'm new to da site..still tryin to what all da buttons do:cheesygrinsmiley:

Ok..let me ask u this..are they dying under full humidity under dome? Or are they dying when they are completely exposed outta dome to fend for themselves..

Hardening just means to slowly transition to full exposure by makin sure roots are set to sustain your leaf growth..if it cant it will shrivle up,wilt and die on u..
Exactly what happened to mutts mini me. He caught and saved his..

If thats not the case..its gotta be the nutes that the small clones cant take yet..

All the u clones u seen of mine including the re vegged one have zero nutes added.only plain water in da mist..

Hellbent on helpin you solve this dillemma bro:peace:

Yea im getting clueless over these smaller clones. But its when the humidity dome is completely off when they start to die. All though one of them died in the dome. Must be them hot ass FF nutes lol. Yea I have a few more little ones in there now. Ill ly off the nutes and just let them do them pretty much. 14-2 on the clones. But yea get that journal started. 80 plants with a scrog. I gotta see.

PS Im about to go mess with Jimmy Cricket. He hasn't been updating very often. 14-2 on clones hell love this lmao hahahaha! Hes 0-40567845

Oh and one of my T8 lights almost fell on my newly planted clones, I slap the shit out of it in mid air lmao. I wish a lamp would hahahahaha!

Yep,hard work to keep up with the timing of sog..i harvest cloned n vegged in a month before flip..da 80 on the sog table..55-60 day flower time..4 strains..average height 16-22 inches..average dry weight per plant 18-24 grams..

Whew..add dat all up..now u got an idea:cheesygrinsmiley:

If its cool with u..ill drop in a pic or two when i get a decent camera..all i got now is my shitty droid cam..
