Put me down for exactly 1 kilogram which is 35.2739619 ounces ... approximately. ;)

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

1200 watts put to supreme usage,

it would be easier if we could see it all in one place. lol.
I say 1200 grams dry. 650g big tops, 350g med, and 200g small buds.
might be on the optimistic side, but thats where i like to be.
good luck!

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

ok guys..... everything is chopped and the majority is trimmed and hung or on screens. I totally cleaned the system and the room. Everything is ready for the next run.

The root mass was in-fking-credible. I couldnt pull the plants up and I had to take a hacksaw and saw them off even with the tops of the tube and then push them into the tube and slide them out the open end on the res side. Each root mass weighed 6-8 POUNDS. I took pics of the root mass, the demolished neoprene sleeve, etc but I'm too tired to mess with them now. I will post pictures tomorrow though.

Surprisingly, the 4 inch tubes had some more room in them as the roots settled into the bottom half of the tube. I was actually quite surprised at the amount of room that was left.

I don't know what the final weight will be but after today it feels like 91 pounds. I hope you guys are right with your predictions. I still predict 20-25 ounces total.

I have 2 shopping bags full of bubble.... I guarantee I get 2-3 ounces of tiny nugs. Hey, tiny nugs smoke too, right?

Today I was wishing that I made hash because I have a large bit of bubble/leaves that I'm going to pitch because it isnt usable for me.

Although I'm not going to journal the next aero run, it does feel realllllly good to have everything cleaned and ready for the next haul.....plus, we do have the 2 outdoor monsters to look forward to.

I want to extend a big "THANK YOU" to everyone that has stopped in, read my journal, and offered any feedback. I hope all of you learned some things that will help you in the future. I know I certainly did.

More to come tomorrow....

420fied,

it was my pleasure and honor to watch your grow. I followed it so closely, I feel like i just harvested too. lol.

amazing results my man, cheap and easy to setup, great pics and instructions on exactly how to build it, super light nutes making it cheaper. . . all in all a top notch professional journal from start to finish. I liked your technique of running the plants under the screen.

I can't thank you (and in part big earl i guess, whoever that is, i never saw anything from him before) enough for running this journal, i think i might try to replicate this one sometime in the future, there are a ton of benefits with this setup, my favorite is no medium to buy or toss.

once again, great job.
too bad you aren't gonna run the next one for us to see.

Catch ya later.
WOF

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

johnnydetroit,

the hydro guy may know his stuff, or he may have never seen an aero/hydro setup with this exact size reservoir, aero sprays, 1200 watts right above it.

with the spray nozzels in the PVC dispersing the water in a mist right under those lights, with the pump constantly running and adding heat, this and any DWC/NFT/AERO setup is going to be vulnerable to warmer water temperatures.

Any problem in air temperature would be magnified if the water hitting your roots hit 90" degrees too. It would be REAL BAD, REAL FAST.

Why risk that type of investment on hot water when the man whose grow you are hoping to emulate said he wouldn't try it without a chiller when he described the setup in the first few posts?

The author wouldn't risk it, I wouldn't do risk it if I was trying to emulate it, but the grow is yours. Maybe it will be fine in your room. Only one way to find out.

420fied ----- GREAT GROW. Really cool set up. +rep.

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

So I lurked throughout this whole grow and I'm finally speaking up. I have to say I'm jealous, proud and happy for you all at the same time. Great job. I hope you reconsider putting your next grow on here. You are inspiration to many, many growers out there. I'm just awed right now.

Again, great job and my bid is 28 oz when all is said and done.

Good advice! I can second it from experience.
