4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG - 1200 Watts

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

Ive had my PH go from 3.0 to 9.8 over the course of 10 days...thats why you see some crispiness on my foliage. SALTS and LOCKOUT.....if there is piece of advice I would give is FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH....and more FLUSH. lol I know you dont have "media": per say but I do and that media will hold that bad crap in it. By the time you notice it the damage is done...hence hydro is so damn fast. I have 2 260 gl/powerheads circulating my res and the sponge filters plug up every 10 days so now I clean them along with my weekly flush schedule. All the thick nutes, added bene bacterial and sugar its no wonder.

You're spot on because I do not believe that I have flushed them enough. I bet I've flushed them maybe 3 or 4 times total and that isnt nearly enough. Being my first aero rodeo I didnt realize I'd have to flush like that. Those greenhouse seeds videos make sense.... they grow GIANTS and flush EVERY week. I'll learn one of these days....lol. I'm going to flush them weekly during the next run. What is your flushing schedule like Viper?

As always, your opinion is valued and respected. I rep you so much that it won't let me until I spread some love.

:thankyou:

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

thanx bro...
my flushing schedule is simple. start with 55 gallons and in 3 days 1/2 is gone. I add 30 gallons and set my PPM at 1500....in 3-3.5 days 1/2 is gone again, I suck the resovoir dry- add 30 gallons fresh water PH balanced w/o nutes. cycle the flood manually for 2-3 flushes... my ending PPM will be 700-800 ppm. After those manual flushes I end up at 225 ppm...thats my starting well water. I suck it down again and refill full with nutes. and so on...
On the light movers......
you can choose 2 different speeds when you order either 6 rpm or 10 rpm. I took the 6 rpm
They come in 3.5 ft sections and I just added extensions. so I have 2 7 foot rails. There are adjustable stops and its fool proof. The rails are VERY maleable aluminum so if you try to cut them for a smaller length like 5 ft be really careful or you will trash them
I think you can just use 2 3.5 ft sections....it should fit. I also have extensions to keep them stable...another option. I was told that movers will increase yield by 40% but I have no way to verify, but consider this....Im only using aprx 32w per sq/ft....a low number by the recomendations. I think the pics show the true effectiveness.
I may have missed some of your questions so forgive me..Ill re-read it an check
try this link
Light Rail 3.5 6 RPM Light Mover Kit w/rail - Plantlighting Hydroponics
I tried Suncoast but they dont list the mover...I try to use our sponsors

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

BTW...IM no genius, I give credit to McBudz,Pan and Stix on the flushes. I tried a 4 week flush and some plants went necrotic. so I went with their recs.

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

Wow, flushing every week with aeroponics? Thats crazy!

IM not using aero my man. He wanted to know what I do is all. BUT I STILL RECOMEND WEEKLY RESOVOIR AND SYTEM FLUSHES. I have found that Except for PH, flushes are the best way to maintain system integrity. I have learned the hard way. The time I spend flushing is nothing compared to the catostrophic losses that can be incurred. but what do I know......nothing apparently

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

Thanks everyone. My motherboard blew up tonight so I'm checking in from a friends. I'm going to go buy a new PC tomorrow so I'll be back up and running asap.

Viper, thanks so much for your feedback.

Thanks Munki!

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

looking good 420fied,

hey pit, you can buy a water grade 55 gal drum for about 45 bucks, and an automatic top off system for 50-60. they usually have a pressure actuated level sensor and when the water level drops, it refills until it is submerged again. then you would just have to add some nutes once in a while to top it back up to 1500ppm.

thats my plan at least. couple months till i can afford it though.

NP man. I wouldn't take what is said there as gospel but certainly some good guidelines are presented. I like their scientific approach and the calculators are pretty cool too.

I will go by their size guideline (3 gallon per square foot of canopy) when I make my next reservoir and see how it works for me.

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

On the light mover - the 7' rail that comes with it should be more than you need for your room - that will just be center to center for the light movement - the edge of your 2' light shade will extend past the end of the rail.

Day 45

I'm at 39* Lattitude.

Holy crap Fied, careful with that location stuff you're putting out there. All I had to do was Google latitude 39, and I found your place, although I have no idea how you got all that in there.

If I can find it, surely LEO can. Better head up to the crows nest and keep an eye out for the boats. They're the ones marked WOD (war on drugs).

By the way, your girls, and I mean ALL your girls, are looking beautiful. Please pass that on.

Hilarious stuff bro. I passed on your message to the Mrs. and she says "Thank you sir."

:thankyou:

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

So I bought a new PC with Windows Vista and when I plug the USB cable in for my digital camera nothing pops up on the screen. It makes a noise but I can't load pics. I don't have a disk for the camera but in the past I just plugged it in and it loaded up. It says that it is installed but I don't know how to load the pics now. Any help?

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

Try downloading a pic program like Picasa...

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

40fied,

after you plug it in and it makes a sound, can you just go to "compute"r on the start menu and see your camera as another hard drive? then just copy them over to a folder from there? thats what i do.

Re: 4inch PVC Aero/NFT 4x5 SCROG (1200 Watts)

Im a Mac guy but if I where you I would go to the camera makers website and download the latest software for your camera. Thay might even have a firmware update which most people never upgrade but its always a good idea. I hope that helps you out. Good luck..
