480W & 720W LED Grow - Land of Clovers

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

Great job and awesome info. I'm wondering where I can find cheap hid lights. Hopefully like a 400w switchable ballast. My plants are really begging for more light. I just don't have the resources to get some. I hate cfls I won't use them and LEDs are way out of my price range. I am willing to buy used even if I have to. Thanks man and sweet job!
not sure Google is the answer, ebay or craigslist
i wouldnt use sulfur molasses bro. only unsulur, but u know.
my ssh and kali had to feed them everyother day. probably just the strain u got.
na i am not going to feed them that.
the roots system is most likely huge and their just big pigs
Well I just got a 2011 model so is it not really 395w or has he already made an even newer 2011 model that is over 395w?
its a newer model of the newer one.lol. the one you got is 395w but the newiset one is going to be 435w or something? not sure on the price tag though? you would have to talk to Mike about the details i dont really know. hope i get one for my next grow after i harvest these jacks. might go four 280w lights in a 4'x4' tray.lol. irish boy dont play around.lol.
jumping in on the mobile discussion lol. Can't stand the iPhone, Android can do everything the iphone does and much more

Just going to chime in since we went off topic for a sec... I just got my first Windows 7 Phone and I love it. It's the LG Quantum, LG makes a surprisingly nice phone. It moves very quickly from task to task. Does everything an iPhone will.

:focus:

435wwwhhaaa, I want one! :)

Aww if you were going to get an Iphone 4 should have waited until they released a 4g version.. 4g iphone would be insane on so many levels.:cheertwo:

3g is way fast enough for me :)

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

Am I in the right place? Was looking for the 420 grow section...not the tech forum. I already know my iPhone kicks your Droids ass...and don't get me started on that Windows or BB crap...

Anyhow, serious question. Been lurking for months and ya, Irish is the fucking man when it comes to these LED grows, along with Setting Sun.

I am setting up a brand new grow area. Never grown anything before and came into a little cash so I want to get things kicked off right. Like with tech, it sucks to buy middle of the road gear only to replace it with what you should have bought in the first place. I plan to go with a 4x6 Silver Edition HydroHut tent, RDWC grow under LED.

So ya, now I get to my question. I have read a lot of these journals and a lot of manufacturers claims. Seems like Mike is the way to go. So Irish, oh wise one, can someone have too much light? With a 4x6 I like the idea of three lights. Would 3 of the new 435's be a problem? I don't want to fry my plants, but I am, at the moment, able to spring for some good lights. What are your thoughts? Oh, grow is going to start with 6 5-gallon RDWC buckets with master outside of tent.

Thanks, and I truly appreciate your sharing here.

thanks for the kind words my friend.
i heard you with buying the middle road stuff and regretting it and spending more more latter on. i dont it all the time with stuff and have learned my lesson. ur a smart man to realize that. that stands for anything you buy, always get stuff that proven.

i would look into the jardin tent like setting sun has, ive heard its the best one. dont get a grow lab my blows. but ive heard not the best things about the Silver Edition HydroHut tent. do ur homework with these tents and dont regret it like i am with my tent.

ive heard people say you can have too much light but i havent seen it and i do it over kill, just like my new room with me four 280w lights in a 4'x4', i like to do it big! no with the 435w that would be insane and i want to help trim those buds.lol. bottom line is i dont think you cant have too much light but the lights too close IMO. close lights to ur plants will hurt them with bleaching. these lights are strong and their going to be stronger now. i can wait.. i think on this grow i am going to go back to my old school growing ways where i get my best grows with chem nutes. i dont want to test things out on a grow like that testing out a new light system with my organic recipes. ill stick to what got me my big led yield the 1st time.

Actually That makes me curious. What is the lumen to watt ratio on Mike's LEDs?

That was the best news I've seen you post in awhile. I'm a fan of using what got you here, in that case, it was chem nutes for Godzilla Buds!

all the info should be posted once the lab test are done
I imagine that might be an answer the the report he is waiting on from some light lab testing the 2011 line
yup you got it bro, everything is being tested and we will see a ton of info

lol. yup been allot of testing lately, but its all fun to find new things out. i am going back to the way i grew in my 1st grow with these lights with the 600w. 19oz from 4 plants. who knows i might even get me some Hindu Skunk again.lol.. i will know for sure after seeing how my Jacks Turn out with these XG stuff. their swelling up as we speak and should pack on these next few weeks. so if i can come close with organics i am all over that one for sure, if not i will be back old school.

Sup Irish. Followed you here from that other site. Can't wait for more updates. I might just invest in Mike's LEDs and skip HIDs.

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

Thanks for the heads up on the tent and the confirmation on the lights. Now when are you goign to man up and be the first to test this puppy out

The $7K plasma light. Ya, that is a bit insane price wise...maybe you can get them to give you a "test grow light'? That would be a sweet perk.

Harry, why don't you man up and test them out... Looks like Irish's plate is already quite full.... :smokin2:

Until recently all I have ever read is that you cannot have too much light, the light can be too close to the plants and hurt them, but never too many lumens. But I do remember reading something recently that said too much light can be harmful to the plant. I wish I remember where I read it but if I come across it again I will definitely post it here.

Your plan for four of those lights in a 4x4 is awesome but right after I read it I realized that it might be a little better in a 5x5 to really take advantage of their core saturation area. But I bet you already have a 4x4 tent? You just gave me an idea for my future expansion. I already have one of the 180's and am about to order a second so only two more to go.

Your plan to head back to the nutes that work for you makes perfect sense. I definitely don't like to try new products on all of my plants at once. Only one or two at a time so just in case I don't like the way it works I'm not screwed. That goes for everything lights, nutes, pots, germination or cloning techniques, everything.

A little while back you were asking about dolomite limestone and I wanted to mention that you might want to consider pelletized lime. A coco guide that I use points out that while dolomite is just fine to use the author prefers the pelletized because it's slow release and will help keep calcium issues at bay through flowering but with dolomite you may have to reapply.
that would be cool if you could find that link.
the 4'x4' is just a tray so they could very easy go 5'x5' just that many lights over a 4x4 tray. i am depating on just doing 4 big plants with each one having its own 280w light.lol that might be cool.

i am going back to the base nutes witch was the GH 3 part but think i am going to use the AN 3 part since its the same price and has more stuff in it now and is PH perfect. i have been looking a dyna gro because they have 16 macro and micro nutes in them and u use very little.

thanks for the tip on the lime, ive read that before.

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

is organic not doin it for u?

seems like alot of problems when dealing with organics but if u dial it in the taste is 2nd to none but chem nutes seem easier to deal with atleast for me

i dont think its the organics, i think its the user not doing the organics right.lol.. lots of people rock things out with organics like Be IRIE:high-five:
