480W & 720W LED Grow - Land of Clovers

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

(1) Espoma® Organic Traditions Soil Acidifier contains elemental sulfur to lower the pH of soils and allows acid-loving plants to achieve optimum growth. Safer than Aluminum Sulfate. Non-hazardous and non-toxic. Approved for organic gardening.

(2) SULFUR
• Essential plant food for production of protein.
• Promotes activity and development of enzymes and vitamins.
• Helps in chlorophyll formation.
• Improves root growth and seed production.
• Helps with vigorous plant growth and resistance to cold.
• Sulfur may be supplied to the soil from rainwater. It is also added in some fertilizers as an impurity, especially the lower grade fertilizers. The use of gypsum also increases soil sulfur levels.

(3) Most fungicides that can be bought retail are sold in a liquid form. The most common active ingredient is sulfur, present at 0.08% in weaker concentrates, and as high as 0.5% for more potent fungicides. Fungicides in powdered form are usually around 90% sulfur and are very toxic. Other active ingredients in fungicides include neem oil, rosemary oil, jojoba oil, and the bacterium Bacillus subtilis.

"but my base nutes Age old dosent say it has any and the SS#4 is a dead medium"

Thats a bad thing about Age Old, and when you said dead medium I figured that either meant soil less or... no microlife? I guess I wasn't really paying enough attention because I have read about you and Mykos so even if it was a dead medium it isn't anymore haha.

most organic stuff dosent have sulfur because its a deabte about it being organic or not. when i said dead SS#4 i mean it has no nutes in it, its alive with micro life now just not like that right out of the bag.

Irish, First, I really appreciate you pushing the envelope with these LED's. Like all new things, there is going to be a learning curve, that the haters don't want to go through, so props dude!

It looks like you are getting lock out, most likely from too many competing minerals. During the first few weeks of veg, the plants dont need a whole lot of P or K, just nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, and some micros. I think what's happening is that the macro nutes your plants don't need are locking out the micro nutes, causing the "defficiency". You may very well have enough of the micros, but if the plant can't take them up because of an overabundance of the macros, then you run into problems. Remember, in organics, the living goodness does the work of converting food into nutes your plants can use, so running with too many beneficial bacterias and fungus too early can cause lock out because they are making more food than your babies can handle.

The plants won't need the P and K until around the 3rd week of veg.

That being said, might I suggest flushing your medium clean, and then start adding back nutes at 1/4 the strength you were using, and then slowly working them up. You can also foliar feed with some epsom salt, or cal/mag in the meantime. Your foliar feed solution should be light maybe 200-250ppm.

Hope this helps, and keep up the good work!
very good post, and i agree with you but all i feed them at 1st was seaweed and they started to show problems. Seaweed should be fine for the 1st few weeks. once the problem started to get worse i gave them a light feeding of ageold bloom with cal/mag and humic acid to help her take in what she needs. the tea isnt a NPK tea is a micro tea to help unlock some of the mykos 30 in their and release some of the N and food for her. i am thinking since SS34 dosent have anything in it, she is hungry and problems were popping up?
you do have a point about the micro life too early, i figured it would be the same as my Jack heres witch had allot more micro life sooner? after the feeding yesterday it kinda looks like their getting greener, but we will see if a few days.

i think the foliar spray of epsom salt is the way to go
very cool post my friend thanks allot, these organics are new to me.
well dont think this green sand will cure ur sulfure issue. seems good tho, full of potassium. and supposedly really hard to over water with.

i dont want to lower my PH and more in my medium SS#4 already runs low.

Irish... to answer your question about molases.. there is sulfured molases and unsulfured molases .....that would work and not fuck with your PH ... good thought..

ill hold off because ive always been told to stay away from the sulfured molasses, not sure if plants can even take that form up? i think the teas are doing the job maybe.

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

i am starting to not like these XG products!.lol.. my jacks drink a insane amount of water, ive never had plants eat so fast in cold temps. i have to water my 5 gal pots every 2 days.lol.. i cant wait to see these roots! no wonder why their going having problems i cant keep up with the food their eating. they got a nice heavy feeding right now, so lets see what happens? i am sold on their products just going to change the feeding a little in mid bloom until they get things worked out witch should be soon from what ive been told.

next pics i have to show you guys some crazy stuff. my light is 4'5" from the lowest branch and that bud is nice and fat with just the most frost ive ever seen. i am blown away these lights can penetrate that far. i dont know if me having the glass out has something to do with it? no popcorn buds for this Irish boy.lol

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

Great job and awesome info. I'm wondering where I can find cheap hid lights. Hopefully like a 400w switchable ballast. My plants are really begging for more light. I just don't have the resources to get some. I hate cfls I won't use them and LEDs are way out of my price range. I am willing to buy used even if I have to. Thanks man and sweet job!

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

i wouldnt use sulfur molasses bro. only unsulur, but u know.
my ssh and kali had to feed them everyother day. probably just the strain u got.

Well I just got a 2011 model so is it not really 395w or has he already made an even newer 2011 model that is over 395w?

re: 480W & 720W Grow LED Hydro - Land Of Clovers

Just going to chime in since we went off topic for a sec... I just got my first Windows 7 Phone and I love it. It's the LG Quantum, LG makes a surprisingly nice phone. It moves very quickly from task to task. Does everything an iPhone will.
