3rd Grow - Time For The Light Show

One reflector for the 3 baby's in first 3-5 weeks is more than enough for good growth, (my experience)

Near the end of 3rd week is good time to begin with .

Regarding repair burned out leds, only have to solder leds and/or transistor than.

Have one light 60x5w, 2 leds are probably burned out, contacted Sarah and she going to send replacement parts.

Will repair it myself, can solder and not that difficult.

Hello all. I've been having problems uploading pictures so I've been adding what I can every day or other day whilst still taking more so this update might have a fair few pics. Hopefully they will be noticeably different otherwise it will all be for naught.

Well after the last update the seedlings were looking ok and everything was fine:

They were looking ok so I switched the Mars II 1600w on also:

A couple of days letting the plants adjust I decided to lower the light:

But the girls didn't seem to like that. In fact they looked to me like they were shying away from the 1600w, too powerful maybe?

So a quick change of plan. Mars II 1600w was switched off and I brought a CFL in to supplement the Reflectors:

Here we are a couple of days later. The plants seem to have responded to the CFL/Reflector combo much better and are little perkies again

Only a quick update as I've kind of lost track of my pictures. Some didn't upload and some did but the wrong way around, I'm lost and don't know how to access my own gallery

Hopefully the servers will be more accommodating to the pictures soon and I won't lose track. Oh yes, I didn't feed nutrients but I did give them a tiny amount of Canna Rhizotonic for their roots. All the best everyone

They are looking an awful lot better for being under the cfl. You should be fine to keep them like that for the next couple of weeks. Maybe introduce the led for a few hours each day to get them accustomed to the stronger light

Believe its better with CFL - prefer TCL(9500k).

Hey Mono, I've left the reflectors on as well as the CFL to help get them acclimatised for the next time I switch the 1600 on

Hey Ganjazz I do notice that plants seem to love CFL. It's usually after I switch lights that everything starts going pear shaped. Maybe this mix of CFL and LED will work nicely

Hey Ganjazz, the CFL is 300 watt and the reflectors are mainly for later but they'll do for toughening the plants up for LED for now. By TCL do you mean the T5 lights? I've looked at them but I'm happy with how things are turning out more and more everyday and I'm enjoying the playing around and switching things about too I'd have a full light box if I could but there's no room for anything else as my temps are still pretty high. I can't work it out, I have negative pressure etc but I just think the ambient temperature is too high. I looked at buying an Air conditioner but they seem expensive and need venting to the outside too, I've already used my wall ventilation so apart from leaving the window open with some tube sticking out (not very stealthy) or making another hole in the wall (not happening) I'm pretty limited. Still it's all for fun and the smoke at the end is the bonus. All the best

Hey Mono it seems so. I bought this as part of a full kit including the hood for less than £40 and it seems to be the light that the plants like best out of them all whilst in veg. I've always thought it was a bit of a bargain I still keep on opening the tent and giving them a little blast of the 1600w though, I'm playing the waiting game but I'm not very good at waiting lol.
