3rd Grow - Time For The Light Show

Is that WW a freebie too? I wouldn't think they need food yet. You mentioned "basic compost" for soil type. Can you elaborate on the type a bit more? I had an epic failure with a few tomatoes and peppers growing in a type of soil. I wonder if the soil PH is a bit off. That LSD looks like it's about to explode but can't quite catch a break. The IB look like they are going to be stellar! i can't wait to see them flower!

The little Amnesia and BF seedlings look to me like they have root problems of some sort. If they were in my care I would say I had overwatered them, which of course is easy to do if they don't have a big root system so maybe it's a chicken/egg thing. I wish I was more if an expert on deficiencies to be able to come along and say exactly what that weird lower foliage bleaching is on the PN and LSD. Definitely a deficiency of some sort going on but the closest thing I could see on the deficiency solver chart was a molybdenum deficiency. Not super helpful but I expect some people could glance at that color and know right away what it is. Generally my deficiency issues have been nearly all Ph related, except for some overwatering.

Flipping puts just enough stress on the girls to make them produce more resin and boost potency. I test this theory. tent one...temps 85 to 89. Tent 2... temps 72 to 75. Hotter tent had 2 more ounces, smaller but rock solid buds. Cooler tent had bigger buds but not nearly as dence. The plants have different metabolism when grown with LED. Also with the flipping you'll notice a different taste in your buds for the better. Flipping does not affect yield whatsoever. The 24 hours of darkness is the most important before flipping.

OK people...here gos another OG tip. If you have trouble with light leaks just use a green light when the girls are asleep. With the green light on that will drown out any minor light leaks.

The WW was a free seed. It's just bog standard soil which I've now added some lime to (see earlier post)

I need to nute that LSD up Weasel lol but everyone says I'll kill it or something if I do. I'm giving it the two weeks then it's getting fed. Soil PH hasn't been tested recently but I'm expecting it to be reasonable. I've grown in worse conditions, maybe the LSD is just sensitive ;)

I can understand that, I never worry enough about light leaks I suppose. One thing I forgot to mention is that we did a test though a few days ago or so. I locked the wife in the tent, was looking for a padlock but couldn't find one, but no light in there whatsoever. I reckon light leaks are ok :)

I think you will like the fabric pots I did a lot of research before I started growing and that's why I got them but since then I have tried plastic pots and now I am sure I made the right choice when I got the fabric pots

p.s. what size did you get did you say you got a 20 gallon pot fuck that's a big pot lol I use 5 and 3 gallon pots but I think I want to get a few 7 gallon pots all fabric

Hey db003, I have got a 20 gallon fabric pot which I will be transplanting the Incredible Bulk 1 into until I'm ready to give it the tent to itself. I'm aiming to see what I can get off one big bush while using the Reflectors as side lighting to hopefully improve the lower bud quality.

I also have four 20litre (5 gallon?) smart pots arriving tomorrow into which I'll transplant the 4 new recently sprouted seedlings. I've also read good things about these pots so it will be nice to compare them to the fabric pot. Eventually I will probably choose to only use one or the other.

Thanks for dropping in and I hope everything is good your side of the pond. All the best mate :thumb:

Looks like I may owe you some cookies..... :(

Damn UncleC, I really was hoping you were going to say "Tada! Told you so!" :( OK well I'll feed her some nutrients tomorrow and see if we can get her into recovery. To be fair I've been smoking the LSD as I'm low on Plushberry and although I wouldn't call it sh*t, it's far from one of my personal favourites. Mind you the grow didn't go too well either, I think maybe I'll just avoid this strain in the future as we definitely do not seem to get along.

Today I was going to transplant my plants. I had a delivery of the new pots and a big bag of Perlite and was set to go until one of those moments where you just go "Doh!". I built everything up (these smart pots need building but are pretty easy once you've tried them upside down, inside out, with the bottom at the top etc) and I was merrily taking pictures of the before and after when I realised something was missing...the saucers! These will not be going into the tent without saucers/drip trays whatever they're called and unfortunately they've not yet been delivered. It seems the girls have another day or two before they can escape from those mini pots. I'll update ASAP and until then I wish you all the best of health and happiness. On a bonus note we will be sharing UncleC's cookies around :) All the best everyone :thumb:

I've just given the LSD an emergency feed. She had 1litre of water with 5ml of Canna Vega, 2ml of CalMag and a few ml's of my Humboldt's Secret Golden Tree. I pre watered 15 minutes earlier so that hopefully the plant will be able to absorb the nutrients easier. I have some pictures of the plants but I will wait until the full update for those. The LSD is looking really poorly though so the way I see it, what doesn't kill her can only make her stronger ;) On a more serious note though I feel bad for the girl, it's almost like I've fallen out of love with her and am neglecting her even though I'm not. This strain though...b*tch to grow. Peace all :thumb:

Hope you don't mind if I chime in. If your plant is stressed and needs to recover...try some flat beer and milk. 1 gal. water, half cup flat beer half cup to full cup of milk. Magic.

Hey Thebreeder thanks for the advice. I'd heard beer was good for them but I'd only ever read about milk being used as a foliar spray. Sounds like it can't do any harm to give it a try, if she doesn't pick up after this feeding I'll give it a try. Thanks for the input and sorry I wasn't here to help you regarding pics but I wasn't on here at that time. Thanks to Colorado High for taking the time to help.

Hey GB good to see you about, it seems a bit quiet over your side of the pond too at the moment, vegetative days are like reflective days for me. Thinking of all the mischief I could cause in the grow room but without actually doing much, just waiting on the slow grow :) I'm not frustrated with the plants or anything, I just realise that until I have more knowledge regarding this particular strain I won't have an easy grow of it, but I'm also not prepared to pop any more plants to try and get to know it as I'm not even sure whether I like the end result anyway. Saying that if she does grow she might end up surprising me, if so I'll be all over trying to work out this strain's wicked ways ;)

I hope that you are all well. I'm sat here hoping the saucers turn up today, I've got everything ready but them. All the best :thumb:

Hey there Kriaze. Just because I've got cookies in the oven with your name on them doesn't mean that you should give up on her just yet.
It only means that she didn't perk up and take off as quickly as I expected. :)

To my eye, it appears that the LSD along with the seedlings have been exposed to excessive nutrients or you've got some major ph issues going on. Notice the clawed and taco shell curled leaves.

As a start, I suggest that you go ahead and prune away the sickly bottom growth up the point where you've topped her. Leave the flag leaves just below the branch node.

Are you leaching your soil medium every now and then when watering (allowing some water leakage into the drip saucers) in order to flush away any built up salts?

Do you have an EC pen to be able to check the EC of nutrient solutions and your runoff?

Hello UncleC I haven't given up on her yet. I can't see when they could have had excessive nutrients as they haven't had many feeds, although I do remember that I made a mistake with one of those feeds and gave a full strength dose of nutes instead of the usual quarter or half dose. As for leeching the soil I haven't done that yet as the pots are just too big and I don't want to drown the plants. This was partially the reason I'm mainly feeding just water as I didn't want the nutrient salts to build up until the plants were big enough to withstand a flooding, maybe I'm wrong with that way of thinking and the nutrient salts are already there. I haven't tested the PH of the soil again since last time when I added garden lime to help bring up the low PH of it. I do also have an EC meter, but the same problem is there again as to how I get enough water through to runoff and test without drowning the plants.

I'm pretty sure that after the last grow I said I would stop planting directly into big pots, maybe that would make things easier but it's a bit too late for that. I wasn't even noticing any clawing or taco'ing though so maybe I should stop being so lackadaisical with them. On a good note though my saucers have arrived so the little ones get transplanted today along with the Incredible Bulk 1. While I'm in the main tent I'll have another thorough check over of the plants. I did it a couple of days ago as it looked as though something big had been munching at IB1's leaves (nothing found after a good 15 min search) but I noticed deficiencies but no clawing/taco'ing. I could do with checking through my past pictures to see how long it's been happening but I'm using my phone atm so it will be too awkward. Once I get to the PC and grow room I'll go through it all. Thanks for pointing it out UncleC, all the best :thumb:
