My 300w has 5w chips. I've heard the cheap ones skimp on the heat sinks mostly to keep the cost down. Eventually burn up.Ive been studying up on LEDs for a couple weeks now. Therez a lot of info out there. Ive read that 3-5 watt LEDs are the best. Read that COB's are over hyped because no rec light just white. Just tons of info. Sorry i cant tell you one way or the other. Ive heard the cheep leds do great too. Its a quandry... you want a main light and two side lights?
Mine is the viparspectra. I have a 6" fan blowing down and across the top of mine. It stays pretty cool. The viparspectra and mars uses 5w diodes.. i have no idea how well their heatsinks are built but we will find out how long they last that is for sure!
Yea i just really wanted to get another smaller cheaper light for now that im in flower, they need more light. Excited to see what the mars hydro can do but i still want to get the viparspectra par600 plus.. i will have to wait until the harvest and cure is over and i am smoking on that to save myself the money of having to buy buds. After that i will have the money right away lol im sure ill change my mind again though who knows haha
Getting my make shift light hangers ready for tomorrow.. perfect for getting them at the right height i want. Im pretty sure it will work just fine, the hangers that came with my viparspectra are about the same except the loops are welded and not wrapped around but it does the same thing. The lights are 8 lbs a piece so each one should have no problem with the light its holding.
Bought a new timer with two plugs ins and the configuration to turn the programs on and off is a little goofy so the ladies got a flash of light a few hours into lights out. I was quick to turn it off had my finger on the switch, shouldn't cause any issues. Knew i didnt have the darn thing on the right setting had to play with a desk lamp to figure it out, learned the hard way. Now i know for next time.
