300W LED 2x4x5 Tent Soil Grow

Getting my make shift light hangers ready for tomorrow.. perfect for getting them at the right height i want. Im pretty sure it will work just fine, the hangers that came with my viparspectra are about the same except the loops are welded and not wrapped around but it does the same thing. The lights are 8 lbs a piece so each one should have no problem with the light its holding.

Bought a new timer with two plugs ins and the configuration to turn the programs on and off is a little goofy so the ladies got a flash of light a few hours into lights out. I was quick to turn it off had my finger on the switch, shouldn't cause any issues. Knew i didnt have the darn thing on the right setting had to play with a desk lamp to figure it out, learned the hard way. Now i know for next time.
Freakin timers, eh? I've had my share of timer issues too. I would love to find an electronic one (with backup battery) that you just have to to set on time once, off time once, and that's it.
I've got timers that will let me enter 8 different settings, choices of M-F, M W F, daily,, weekly, etc etc. C'mon man, I'm medicated.
:smokin:

Yea i have that same bs one.. why do they make them so complicated i just want it to turn my lights on and off. At least this one doesnt light up like the other one did...

But i got my light today! Its pretty sweet.. idk why i thought it had bloom and veg switches, it has no switches at all actually. Weird design, you just plug it in. got em all set up before lights went out. The hangers arent too sturdy but they give me that extra space i needed and they will hold just fine. Need to figure out what to do with the cords now.

Can you change the title of your journal? Seems lame now that it says 300w lol oh well at least i have maximized my buds potential i feel.. lets see what these ladies can do! I will have spent close to a grand once this is over with but damn its totally worth it. There is no experience like doing your own first closet grow.. no matter how big or small.

Got botanicares pure blend tea organic based compost solution too should i give it to my plants tomorrow when i water with just water? Might throw a little blackstrap molasses in there too... spice it up a bit feeling crazy lol thanks guys have a good one!

This one is just the mars hydro

I just use zip ties, or rubber bands, even wire ties to bundle the extra cords, wires, etc. Keep it clean'n'green!

The mars hydro runs really hot.. tent was 86 degrees when i left for work, could feel the heat outside of the tent. Turned all the fans up.. whats a good way to lower the temp guys wasnt expecting that. The hottest it gets is 75-77.. worries me now they are in flower hopefully it wont stress them too much!

Some of the ways I deal with excess heat: Turn up the exhaust system if you have one, air exchange helps. Try to control where you drawing air into the tent, I use duct attached to lower port on tent, then can raise open end of duct towards ceiling to draw in warmer air, or place open end of duct on floor to draw in cooler air. If air at floor level is still too warm, on goes the portable AC. Ducting your exhaust from top of tent to the great outdoors also helps. You can also set your light schedule to be on during the cooler evenings, and lights out during warmest part of the day.

I know you know most of this already, just thought it might help others too.

Thanks for coming by my thread Snarley and helping, much appreciated! Damn Agemon thats a nice Avatar. I will say it again trust me, and again, and again!
Imtoasted, my first tent grow ran hot and I think that helped me get the bananas. This one here couldent be better. My 8" exhaust routed to a roof jack is one of the best things I did for my tent at set up. Fresh air comes from the house. Couldent be better except in summer time. Great day!

I see... dont want them nanners! Damn hopefully that wont happen anxiously awaiting to go home for lunch to check out whats going on! Thanks dutchess!

I think everything will be ok, but crossing my fingers for you just in case! :goodluck:

Thanks for the optimism guys but im a little nervous this is a big change for them in the middle of flower.. i think its going to be 10 degrees warmer then before. Was 82 when i got home from lunch usually is 72. I have the house set to 68 cant really go lower then that.. hoping they won't hermy on me. Im afraid i made a mistake getting that light.. if it stays at 82 or lower and the temps still drop to 68 at night it should be ok i think. The rh is like 20% lower so that is one awesome thing about the extra heat. The plants seem a little stressed from the heat they arent pointing towards the lights as much as before but im thinking they will do that the first few days getting adjusted to the new light intensity and heat.

I also want to make sure to mention to everyone that the mars hydro 300w runs really hot.. i dont think its cause i have two lights now, i bet if i put that mars hydro in there by itself it would run around 10 degrees warmer then with just the viparspectra. Now i sort of wish i would have gotten another viparspectra.. hopefully the red spectrum will make up for the heat and make my buds fat and frosty! Does anyone else have or had heat issues with mars hydro lights?

Simple solution would be to take the light out until you have a chance to find a solution. Are the fans for the light turning on? Maybe you could point a small fan right at the light to disperse the heat faster. What type of exhaust do you have? Maybe you can move it closer to the exhaust inlet so it would draw the heat off the light...? How bout moving the light near the intake. Do you have an intake where fresh air comes in? Send it back and get a different one, if they ask why, just say it's not right for your application.

Could i have a defective one that heats up too much? The fan works just fine but it doesnt push out much air, my viparspectra pushes out twice as much at least.

I got the tent down to a comfortable 81 degrees, the air doesnt feel too bad in the tent. I remember that if you are comfortable in that environment your plants will be too. Hopefully it will be ok just annoyed it heats up so much. Light is right next to the carbon filter so it should be drawing all the hot air right out and my clip fan blows directly on the lights. Tomorrow im gonna try and put a gallon jug of frozen water in the tent to see what that does. I honestly dont want to go through the hassle of taking it out and sending it back i will try to make it work.. darn thing.
