2015 Dr. Bearkenstien Goes Crazy Grow Journal

If you do the seeds then keep the closet seperate and don't blow air out of it too much or the pollen will spread around the house. Also do the pollen plant work last in the day then change clothes and scrub your hands and arms. It is easy to spread that shit around where you don't want it.
For the seedlings you have now just keep them damp but not soaked. Biggest risk right now is overwatering.
Take some pics when you can.

Good luck,
OG

up to 9 plants 5 jackalopes and 3 thunderpaws. Got a belated xmas present today got about 3 plants worth of harvest from some plants that had hermied. I have pics but lost the usb cord to my fone so soon as I get one i will post em. just keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for nature to do it's thing. may be picking up some clippings tomorrow of some sour diesel or blue fire. if i do will be picking up some rock wool cubes some root grow hormone and a heating pad and a humidity tray ( all suggested by jorge )

woke up this morning to one dead thunder and 4 new jacks. Went out and picked up a cloning tray and dome and will be doing 4 cuttings today of some stuff called blue fire. if those cuttings do well i will do cuttings of my other plants. Weeeeeeeeeeeee this is fun

Once a seed has sprouted it should have a 99% chance of growing. They should not be dying every time you grow them. What is your temps and RH? We need to figure out what you are doing wrong so you can stop killing them. They should all live. Good thing I gave you lots of seeds, but still keep them alive...

am busting my hump trying to keep em alive so far am at about 75% on the jack and 33% on the thunder have sprouted. just bought a new thermo/rh meter haven't got it dialed in yet . got a hold of another 6 cuttings of the blue fire and have them under the dome.water ph is 7 straight out of the tap That is what I was told is a good ph for the grow mix i am using. will take any suggestions you may have.

Hope this year turns out better for you Bear :Namaste:

I'm sure your persistence will pay off for you in 2016. I don't have any real suggestions without some pictures. 7 is a bit on for the PH but shouldn't be terrible.

As OG said, once you put the sprout in the medium, they should just do the rest. Pictures would really help :helpsmilie:

tomorrow is trip to wally world to get a usb cord for my fone then pics can be done have pics just can't post em. 2016 will be interesting

Did the stem pinch off and the little seedling fall over? As in damping off? How wet is your soil? It should be damp not wet at all. Best to water it with the mist of from a spray bottle. Don't soak it all the way through that's for sure. Also it is good to have a weak fan blowing on them to strengthen the stems and promote transpiration leading to additional root growth. Make sure you plant enough so that you have at least five or six of each, as you are likely to lose close to half to males when You switch to 12/12.

Happy New Year Bear...

beena busy time away. Did a bunch of maintenance in grow. Empty closet and painted rehung lights put plastic on floor then reflective material down the hung one partial door of shiny insulation board installed intake and exhaust ports. Found bugs in soil so made new grow mix with following recipe
coco/perlite 70/30
clay pellets
worm castings
mykos enzyme innoculet
ty Jorge Cervates

emptied and cleaned all buckets and transplanted plants. Misted everything real good. bought a ph test kit made for hydroponics and my tap water is between 6.2-6.4 ph. bought a humidifier and added it to room and humidity is at 41 right now temp is 73. Hung a white sheet over rest of door ( for easy access ) then hung a grey wool blanket over that to help seal everything in. Still using my t5-24w ho lamp and 3 23w cfl for light for now. When I switch to 600w will be hanging it vertically without reflector (again ty Jorge) Here is list of line up
4 jackalope in bucket one guessing 9 days old
4 thunder paw in bucket 2 guessing 9 days old
3 jackalope germinating in dome
3 thunder paw germinating in dome
10 blue fire clones in dome ( all fem )
Thought i lost 4 of the blue fire cause they got heat stressed from being to close to cfl's good misting and they bounced back also staked up all clones. Took pics but forgot the camera at my house so will post em in the morning when I get back here. :Namaste: :ganjamon:

Are you saying multiple plants are in one shared bucket of dirt?
That doesn't seem like good idea, especially for the purposes of evaluating phenotypes. They all need equal treatment and position in a shared dirt pot, as well as non uniform watering would make it difficult to evaluate different plant growth rates and quality and quantity of bud. If you want to keep space to a minimum might I suggest switching to smaller pots say only 6 inches across or whatever your space will allow for. Then you can get them separate. You often see me growing more than one in a pot, but that is with hydroponics where the plant can take all it wants of nutrients and water

Also when the males come they are easily discarded without leaving a dead root mass in the middle of the others during flower period if it is shared. When I have Non femenized seeds I also grow them seperate for easy removal of males. A dead root mass in hydro would not ne good for the health of the system.

Ottawa, I personally have dis-proven the myth that multiple plants in the same pot of soil will fight over nutrients and whatnot for dominance on more than one occasion. Right now I have 6 seedlings starting in one 3gal pot of soil.
But I must admit that I've always used the same strain of beans from the same batch. I can see where using beans from different batches might not grow in harmony so well. Every pheno has it's own individual needs; if not different nutes at least at different times. One might drink faster than the other and so on and so on.

As far as the root thing goes dead young roots add amendments to the soil not harm it.

will take all that into consideration temp in room is holding at 73 and rh is between 45-53 will be finishing hanging all the power strips when I get home here are the all awaited fotos

ok am off to have a day with my gf

Good job Bear!

Just a little tip: try to avoid getting too much water on the leaves before putting them back under the lights. It's hard to tell but that might be why they are a bit spotty.

Lots of love my man!
