2 Girls & 1 Kit: Major PITA Takes High Brix Outdoors, Summer 2015

Have 'em give me a call and we'll get 'em set up high brix. If they like veggies, wait till they try some. The animals go nuts over the good stuff too.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.

Freakin thieves! I hate to say it but one thing about a thief no matter what they're stealing; If they know it's there & want it bad enough there's no way of stopping them short of catching them.
Like John Travolta said in Pulp Fiction, "I wish I would of caught the Fu@k#r doin it! It would've been worth him doin it just so I could of caught him doin it".
Hey BAR...love that quote brotha...pretty much explains it eh. Let me just say a couple things about thieves. I've lived in this house for 15 yrs.Second night here...truck broken into, first time your shocked and feel violated....Second time about 6months later after ins. replaced stereo etc. broken into again , 2nd time you start getting really pissed.....About a yr. after that ...a third time ...then a fourth and a fifth. Wanna know how easy it would have been for me to catch em?,....wire 120 volts to the door handle...ungrounded!Dead thief...me in jail for a long time.
Not to be nosey here but have you ever tried using motion detector sound alarms spread out around the gardens perimeter? That's what I use and haven't been hit since doing so around nine years ago as they throw off a piercing noise that'll send any two bit thief running for the hills, well that's if if not wanting to get caught red handed in the process.
No blood or harm coming to anyone and once knowing they're installed won't likely be coming back anytime soon! Just my quick 2 cents and what I learned from a bit of experience. They sell them on Amazon and other sites for around $15.00 to $20.00 bucks a piece which isn't a bad investment to protect your weed.
Search Amazon if interested in taking a look: Mini Alert Alarm

Best of luck! ~Peace~:ganjamon:

CM...Great idea...that's how i have part of my treehouse alarmed. What also helps is every once and a while ...do a test on the system .full volume ,if ya get the idea. Let anyone that may be close enough ..hear it. It's helped for me...none of the punks have tried to near my place after i finished the treehouse.Cheers eh.

Does anyone have experience giving a drench (top down) for plants in these 25 gal smarties? I'm wondering how much water it takes for a thorough drench w/o a bunch of waste. Since my pots are in-ground, I can't tell when enough is enough. So far I'm using 5 gallons per plant. I'm wondering I need more - I doubt I should use less.

I drenched them 4 days ago and they were looking thirsty this evening. I'm not going to drench tonight so I gave them each 1/2 gal. of water to tide them over until tomorrow morning.

5 gallons is fine Major...Your not wasting any with that amount...i'de give it over two pours ,over a few min's. If they require more just give a day sooner ,rather than just upping the amount. Cheers bud.
In veg, i would prolly give more but less often...just to encourage roots eh.

Dude, dont worry about it to much. My parents us motion detectors around there place in the woods and they seem to work. At least you are aware of whats going on if someone/animal is around. When I first got my house i planted a couple seeds in the back. Turned out to grow taller then my garage. I live in the city and someone should have seen it. Unless someone is cutting through to get to your neighbors and finds your beautiful trees Id be more worried about the bears. But if I had to scare some one off a flare and bear banger might do it. and Maybe just smoke your neighbours dope, after they try yours they might get jealous :rasta:

Thanks so much! It is greatly appreciated. I do love it here, and with July just around the corner, it will be even better.
My wife and I keep thinking about a vacation, but we have a hard time finding anyplace we'd rather be. Snow skiing is 10 miles away. The ocean is about 60 miles. Lakes, rivers, mountains everywhere around us, Redwoods and desert (not my personal fav') are about 80 miles. The best part is, we we only get about 15" of rain per year - nothing like what most people associate with Oregon/Washington.
:Namaste:
You near Bend? Deshuttes River? My lady is from there.

That pic makes us both pine for the forest:) Shes all looking at maps and showing me Crater lake etc. Nice situation you have there. We're stuck in this pathetic fracking/cow town Greeley, CO on the plains. Used to be a sleepy town with a bit of college feel, now we have coal rollers, fast cars, Harley's, and Fire Engines blasting by us all day and night. Our back is on the corner of what we call the "four way quarter mile"
:cough:

Bend is a great town if you like high desert and snow. Better skiing over there, but I don't ski. It is the only town in the central or eastern part of the state I'd ever consider. Like a lot of rural areas, we have plenty of redneck conservatives and good old boys. The college towns are usually very cool. The farther north you go, the more rain you get, along with the usual cooler temps.

Subbed up looking good!!

I'm afraid of where I live becoming like this. My area seems to be getting more and more popular. I can only imagine once pot is completely legalized.

The Weakly Update (Week #9 / Day #60)
17 days and counting to legal recreational in Oregon

Happy weekend gang!
Once again, not a lot to report. More boring veg pics.
The weather is back to "normal", which for us this time of year is mid-80's in the day and low 50's at night.

The HB Pitbull was due for its Transplant drench yesterday. Following Doc's advice, I upped the concentration. I gave her 22 ml Transplant and 2 ml Tea. My Ace of Spades was up for Growth Energy. She got 22 ml GE, 5.5 ml Trans and 2 ml Tea. The same two plants in my organic soil mix still get water only. Each plant received about 4 gallons. Since I'm pretty sure the roots are quite well developed, I'm going to begin more frequent waterings/drenches. I'll probably go back to the original concentrations for the drenches since the girls will be getting them more often. Both will get Brix tomorrow. I'm not using DeStress currently.

There are a couple chewed leaves on the smallest plant, but so far, all are doing great against any and all pests. I took quick, rough measurements: HB PB = 37", HB AS = 41", OG PB = 33", OG AS = 31". That translates to between 6" and 9" of new growth this week. They fought a good fight, but a couple of the cornstalks finally took the lead for height (barely).

Sorry for the crap pics. My viewfinder seems to be off and I end up cutting the top off most shots. Also, it is so bright, the glare makes it impossible to see what the heck I'm pointing at. For reference, the blocks you see in the garden are 12" square.

I talked it over with Mrs. PITA. We decided to just roll the dice as far as getting ripped off. Some may think I'm pussing out, but I knew there was always a chance someone would steal an outdoor grow. I'm no pacifist, but like I said, I'm not adversarial by nature either. They are far enough from the house that keeping tabs on what's going on 24x7 is impossible. We'll see what happens. :peace:

Get out and have a great weekend! :420::rollit:

Nice looking group there Major. That AoS in kit soil is awesome! They all have the shine of health. :thumb:

They are in perfect health, and don't worry about the pests. Outdoor even with strongest plants some will be picked by insects, but if they chew on a leaf here and there there's absolutely no reason to panic. They usually grow so quickly that they'd have to be attacked by throngs of pests to even feel it. If you want to get rid of them completely plant garlic cloves around your plants, works great for thrips and aphids :thumb:

Good Luck with the security aspect, Major. I have concerns also leaving plants in my greenhouse... that's why most will flower in my bloom room under lock and key, multiple. And, for peace of mind, to hunt them down after,, I have CCTV systems. I'm actually researching and considering a few ground sensors tied to my secondary system as to not alert somebody that they're being monitored. I have a background in nuclear security and was involved in setting up some pretty good systems,, and or maintaining them. Trail cams are nice also,, I use those further out on my property to hopefully catch anyone who may be observing my property. Once they get close my only concern is to capture their face, size, anything I can use to hunt them down after.

I pity the fools that try something here....good luck buddy,, plants look awesome.

I would pity that fool too MMM. :laughtwo::green_heart:

I know you said that just like Mr. T, too!!

I always expect and prep for the worse.... but, keeping my mouth shut is the best defense... I'd never go online and talk either,,, . That's crazy! Morning Sue, have a great day!

Thank you MMM. You have a great day as well.
