2 Girls & 1 Kit: Major PITA Takes High Brix Outdoors, Summer 2015

Gorgeous, healthy garden aside, I can't help but try to imagine that incredible scenery/view I glimpsed in that pic a couple pages back. You're a lucky dude Major.
Yeah, I burned up a weed whaker in ny yard the other day lmao!!! It is a beautiful sight Major :)

Thanks so much! It is greatly appreciated. I do love it here, and with July just around the corner, it will be even better.
My wife and I keep thinking about a vacation, but we have a hard time finding anyplace we'd rather be. Snow skiing is 10 miles away. The ocean is about 60 miles. Lakes, rivers, mountains everywhere around us, Redwoods and desert (not my personal fav') are about 80 miles. The best part is, we we only get about 15" of rain per year - nothing like what most people associate with Oregon/Washington.
:Namaste:

Thanks Doc! I've spent many summers down in your area and love it there, too. I sometimes wonder if you know any of the people I knew back in the day.

Excellent work Major PITA!:bravo:

good news / bad news

First the good news:
For a long time we had a good neighbor and a real knob for a neighbor. A few years ago that changed and now we have really great people all around us. I saw them building a huge greenhouse last winter over at my neighbor's house. The thing must be 15+ feet tall and more than 30 feet long. I always suspected what was in there. Today it was confirmed. They grow a very popular medicinal herb. Now I might have someone I can swap genetics with.

Now the bad news:
Last year when they grew, someone came along and chopped their plants for them...before they were even close to being ready. I knew it would be a gamble to grow outside, but now I'm more concerned about some MF ripoff. They know there is stuff next door and could easily find ours. The only hope is, everyone will be growing now so the lazy bastards will have plenty to pick from if they won't grow their own. Still, it sucks hard.

scrubby - just look up the Southern Oregon MLS. :thumb:

-edit-

Thanks Cola Monster! You were always my favorite Sesame St. character. :cheesygrinsmiley:

WILCO
Not sure what I'll do. I'm not the violent type. The neighbors have 6 (?) dogs and still these Bozos managed to get away with their crop.

Major ...buddy....don't let them get em. You don't have to get violent....just make the thieves think your violent. Dogs are good but ...they go to sleep or get let inside.....A couple of 12guage blanks on a trip wire would do the trick real nice i bet. Scare the bejesus out of em. You know they're gonna come for em don't ya....do something right now so your not frettin over it all summer. Cheers pal.

Freakin thieves! I hate to say it but one thing about a thief no matter what they're stealing; If they know it's there & want it bad enough there's no way of stopping them short of catching them.
Like John Travolta said in Pulp Fiction, "I wish I would of caught the Fu@k#r doin it! It would've been worth him doin it just so I could of caught him doin it".

Not to be nosey here but have you ever tried using motion detector sound alarms spread out around the gardens perimeter? That's what I use and haven't been hit since doing so around nine years ago as they throw off a piercing noise that'll send any two bit thief running for the hills, well that's if if not wanting to get caught red handed in the process.
No blood or harm coming to anyone and once knowing they're installed won't likely be coming back anytime soon! Just my quick 2 cents and what I learned from a bit of experience. They sell them on Amazon and other sites for around $15.00 to $20.00 bucks a piece which isn't a bad investment to protect your weed.

Best of luck! ~Peace~:ganjamon:

They won't notice yours....they'll be looking at that greenhouse.

I SO hope you are right. But it feels like I'm wishing bad for some really nice, hard-working farmers. Maybe that can be my fall-back plan. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Seriously, my neighbors have heritage hogs, goats, steers, ducks, chickens, a huge organic-everything garden. We buy duck and chicken eggs from them. They are some of the hardest working people I know. Still, they greatly admired the Hi Brix weed. My plants are way bigger and better looking than what they have right now.

So true. I used to grow in my detached garage back in the 70's. Every time I had anything worth taking, it was gone if I left for a little while. I knew it was somebody I knew and trusted, which is what really pissed me off. Share your smoke with someone and they repay you with breaking in and stealing from you.

Thanks CM! I will take a look. That sounds like about my speed. Our place is big enough that the noise would have to scare them. It might not be enough for me to hear it - or if I heard it - get there in time. Much appreciated!

Have 'em give me a call and we'll get 'em set up high brix. If they like veggies, wait till they try some. The animals go nuts over the good stuff too.
