1st Time Grow For My Beautiful Broken Brain

Oh silly me, I didn't think you had the choice to have a heater up there cause of your electricity challenges, so that is the obvious choice of course. Looks like everything is gonna be alright.

Your wording is really coming along, I can tell that you're studying. So proud of you!

Thanks GTHM ., I'm still super slow writing and getting what I want to say down but I'm learning to be ok with whatever pace I have at that time.

Glad the boiler cupboard is working out for you.
I was having issues with my cuttings and cloning.
Some I would cut off and put in water (I use old perception bottles) and they would sprout roots.
Mostly in the Summer.
I would wait for the roots to get big enough then plant them in seedling soil.
Some would not sprout roots and would die.
So, finally had to get a seeding heater pad.
I put it on top of a piece of drywall.
Then on top of the pad i put my old cleaned out prescription jars filled about 1/2 way with water.
I use a old salad container to put on top and keep them moist.
I mist them at least 3 or 4 times a day.
I also scape them and use a little organic cloning gel.
Saves money on using seeds. I have cloned one O.G. Kush plant 7 times.

I'm really looking forward to trying some cloning Cowpert ..

Not long to go now until my plants are big enough to start.

Update time folks .

Only slightly pink images for the thermometer GTHM

Current environmental info:

I've sacrificed 1x 40w cfl to get the clip on fan blowing over the top of my ladies.

Finola Hemp:

Day: 8

White Widow:

Day: 5

Blueberry:

Day: 13

Medical Mass:

Day: 15

Finola had her 2nd watering today too.

I'm letting the ladies get to a dry state before giving them a drink.

All get a light foliage mister spray with water on every visit too.

Hello Ninja, and what a proud sight to be seen. Great job on getting this far.

imo - maybe a touch overwatering? Unless hemp requires different watering/feedings. Maybe slow down a bit until the heat rises. If you over water you get bugs and slow growing sprouts cause they don't have to search for water. They are a bit droopy, we want them praying to the sky. Hope it helps, otherwise you're golden, like the sunrise. :) Every picture is a step closer to your future.

Thanks my soul sista, that's some more great info ..

I should have documented this too but the girls have all been very delicately getting a wee bit of LST on every visit.

I'm gently spreading & opening up the leaves to let more light to the next set coming through.

I did that and misted just before I took these pics, I will get some pre LST on the next update ..

...

Ahhh yes, that would pull them out, thank you for updating. Yes, let's see them pre-lst.

I know you can't wait to get your hands on them, just a little wee note, any LST at this age could potentially slow them down, let them grow a bit more my sweet Ninja. Buuut, I totally see where you're going with this and I LOVE IT. Once you see the growth is stable, you can pull away. Maybe let her establish her first node. Anyways, this is all just fyi, you do YOU Ninja, :)

Afternoon all, here's a South African joining the mix for you don't mind. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and the start of osteoporosis of the lower lumbar region of the spine in 2014. And only hitting 40 in May 2018 so good going so far. Had 1st op Nov 2014 and all was good then bad followed in June 2017 where a disc l3-l4 burst and was removed with some bone to relieve pressure on the disc below. All check ups with neuro went well till my final month of recovery and the bad started again, my spine has become unstable and is compressing the main nerves in the spinal column now scheduled for a fusion in June this year. No uh uh, not happening this time, recovery time is a year and I've already lost out on life since my first op, been taking 40mg oxycontins for the last yr and stopped drinking before my second op as booze + healing don't go together ( and I've been a heavy drinker since my teens ) . Smoked a lot in my teens, so decided to grow my meds now, have a diy box more or less the same measurements as your tank for veg/clones and upper section for veg/flower..

Also scrimped/saved for a tent kit 80by80by 180 high, arriving in a cpl weeks. I have 4 DP bag seed which were a great smoke @10 days old and a OG K from dinafem @1mnth 10d for a mother plant.

Sorry to take up space on your journal, but following your journal and grow together.... Peace upon you kind sir...

Great to see your little ones growing!

I've started growing again, this time for juicing. These are Pineapple Kush from regular seed. I purchased before I knew about feminized seeds (or anything else about growing cannabis). Fortunately for juicing that won't matter. I forgot how much I love growing. Thanks for letting me share.

[Edit] This is a no-till grow with a top dressing of my famous bunny-mix soil (secret ingredient is the round pellets, made by the cutest composters on earth). You can see the stem of last plant I grew in center. There's 1 more plant in back, plus an orchid I'm trying to rebloom. Pots on each side are also no-till living organic soil, with garlic and vetch growing around a single PK plant each.

A very warm welcome to you Smeegol ..
Please consider my journal a place to call your own too, and thank you so much for joining my journey.

I appreciate you sharing your story and medical challenges here Smeegol, it's not an easy thing to put yourself out there.

If I can help you along the way with various methods of cannabis pain relief I will do everything i can for you, and if I don't know we will call on others to help.

We have an amazing community here on 420 magazine.

I consider myself honoured that you have joined my journal on your search for safe pain relief.

We are very lucky that there are very knowledgeable talented growers and medical cannabis researchers helping me along on my journal and I'm sure you will get to know them, and please feel free to share pics of your plants here too ...

Sometimes I take a while to reply when my brain starts putting on the brakes but I get there eventually lol.

How are you using cannabis for pain relief just now Smeegol, smoke, infused oils etc?

Well done on getting your grow box set up and running, I didn't quite get there with mine but we are both up and running now.

Is this your 1st grow too?

Welcome back KR, thanks and yes please share here as often as you like.

If I haven't told you yet, thank you so much for keeping an eye out for me all this time, it really means so much to me.

I will definitely be adding my trimmed leaves to a juicing program, I'm sure it will give my system another well needed boost.

Rabbit poo and straw compost is a mighty fine bit of growing goodness for your plants.

I've also got a sage plant and a couple of baby aloe vera plants I'm trying to grow too.

How's my Medical Mass looking so far KR?

Good afternoon kind sir... thank you very much for your kind words, support and the wealth of your knowledge and the 420 family.. Your brain and my back are works of art and it takes time, plenty of time to repair. It's not a task that can be accomplished overnight and the longer the recuperation the better we shall heal........

I mainly make my own edibles as the quality of the smoke I get is not the greatest, lasts maybe 45min but edibles last a good couple of hours. I was introduced to a wonderful gentleman through a mutual friend who procures some amazing smoke, I pay R1800 for 15grams which decent as I've heard some scary prices from other consumers who I think are being fleeced. But he lives 2 hours away, so it's a monthly purchase for me at the moment......

Thanks for your kind offer of sharing my pics......

1st is OG in my original box.
2nd is new model with veg compartment.
3rd is DP bag which was decent smoke.
4th is broken branch clone off bag seed. (1st attempt.)

Once again my apologies for taking up space on your journal, I tend to waffle on when medicated. I haven't started my journal as I'm waiting for the DP to grow a bit more as I would like to attempt fluxing @lightaddict.

Thank you for your time and consideration kind sir.
May the peace be with you......

GN, your M&M's look very happy, nice and compact. Mine started off a little leggy but filled in after I got them under better lights. So your lighting must be good.

G2, no journal for me this time. I have time enough to browse or journal but not both. I like to watch. ;)

Sorry i no been around. Forgot all about this site but now back in and caught up on around 7-10 pages here.

Glad to see you got your babies growing and your grow room sorted. I see you got round to getting stable temps and stable RH which will help. A couple of points - dont mist on every visit as it wont really help now that they are established. You can do some foliar feeding along the way if they need it but not really neccessary. Now the 2nd point is the most important - dont water too much. Best to let the soil get dry before watering but not too dry. Allowing the soil to dry out will help the roots grow as they will search the soil for more water thus promoting root growth. You can get a product called mycorrhize or something like that which will help with root growth.

Looking forward to seeing what you end up with and if you ever suffer from a dry spell then get in contact with me. I can get o problem from 2 sources and am happy to cover the cost. It always really good stuff I can get.

We are all learning together here Smeegol and it's a great community that believes in helping others and sharing the knowledge .

That's the perfect attitude to have in your healing quest my friend, patience is the key . ..

That's fantastic news that you are making edibles, have you tried infused oils yet?

I think fluxing would be a great technique to try with your Durban Poison as I believe she will get quite tall on you in your space. Won't be too much of an issue once your tent arrives but great to get her guided low 1st.

Thank you for your time and consideration kind sir.
May the peace be with you......

And with you also ...

R1800 = $22 for 15 grams, how is the prices your side.....

It's so expensive on the street here Smeegol.......£60 for 7 grams.

That's way too expensive for me now I'm not able to work, so it's one of the reasons I'm growing my own medicine.

That and as a neuro patient it's critically important that I have clean, top quality organic pesticides free medicine.
