1st Hydro - LED Grow With Crop King White Widow From Seed

update day 11 of Flower

Well guys I have a couple of leaves that have problems. I am posting their pics to get an idea of what is wrong with them. It is just a couple of leaves at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok overall the tent looks really nice. Overnight a couple of the lower branches really popped up. I expect them to continue to do so for the next couple of days. That is awesome. I expect to get my new light this afternoon. I am not sure I will be able to get it into the tent today but it will def be there tomorrow. So expect a lot of new growth and everything over the next week. Once the new light is in, I will also put in my second layer of screen. I will then get busy trying to place tops where they need to go.

In these pics I tried to take some canopy shots as well as indivdual. It is hard to distinguish in the photos what is what because of all of the overlapping of the plants and stuff. Also the tent is 8 foot long so it is hard to get them all in one shot. So here are some pics. Not super organized but it will give an overall impression of the grow space. Hope you like them.

Next i wanted to show the clones. I am beginning to dispare of having the Tuts survive. I really hope that at least two of them survive.

Wow, there's a lot of green in that tent sir!!

On the discoloured leaves -- anything I might suggest would just be directly from one of the deficiency charts you can find all over the net... I was having nute issues awhile back (in veg) and I started doing a routine flush each time I change my res (weekly for me) with something Flawless Finish or Clearex. Overkill? Probably. But due to my OCD it's just become part of my program. Haven't really had any issues since.... I know you don't do flushes per say, and I'm not suggesting you change anything, just sharing my experience. Seems like the common denominator for any nute issue is a flush + re-nute, so I decided eff it, I'm going to be (very) proactive.

If those leaves where very low is may not be much of an issue. But I would monitor it. If it spreads or gets worse. But I have some lower leaves that later in this grow are yellowing. probably different though. As with CG not really confirmed stuff though. Doesn't look like nute burn to me though. I usually think that happens more uniform on the leaf.

Things look very good in there.. I would just keep and eye on it...

:peace:

Ok I have, I believe, identified my def. First, there is a calcium def. I went back and looked and I have not added any Calmag in about 5 days. So that is one thing. Second is a mold. I was thinking mold yesterday when I pulled those leaves out. Today I have found several wet spots on the leaves in the canopy. This is the plant transpiring but the water not evaporating. My RH is only spiking in the mid 60's and during the day getting down in the 40's. So I was not worried too much about mold. Now I am. If the water is not evaporating then it will create mold. Some now I have some decisions to make.

I have three fans blowing air in the tent as well as the exhaust fan. So tomorrow I will go get a hurricane fan and place it under the canopy to circulate air. I am also going to have to start removing leaves. I will start at the bottom and only remove a few a day. I will use Sciguy's strategy of not taking more than one from a single branch at a time. I will also wait 3 - 4 days between sessions. I will also spray again with the fungicide. My dehumidifier will get here on Friday so only have a couple of more days for that. So all of these actions eliminate the fungus. The Calmag should get rid of the "rust" spots.

Mostly though the girls look great. I just need to make a couple of small adjustments and we will be rocking. They are growing very well. I just got my new light not 10 minutes ago. So that will go into the tent tomorrow. I am very excited to see what the growth will be like when that goes in. I am betting it will be very nice.

The clones.... Clones look like shit still. I am getting pretty sick of them. I will continue to bitch about them until they sprout roots and start eating.

Ok, thanks for stopping by. I hope everyone had a good day.

The clones look fine, I tried using those little collars once, I had about a 50% success rate cloning that way. For some reason the stems of my cuttings would die, I don't know if the stems were too far out of the water or were oversaturated by the water, the bottom of the stems of the ones that didn't make it had a black look to them like they got rotten. I since then moved to using rockwool cubes, since then I have had a 100% success rate.

Hey Bama! Things are still looking really great. I don't think you have too much to worry about with those leaves, but here's my take on what's going on.

The second picture looks like a tiny bit of phosphorus deficiency, which is completely normal during "the stretch", I get a few leaves like this almost every grow. If you have many more leaves like that you may think of upping the P a little bit, but that'll probably happen in your schedule soon anyway. Here's the pic it looks like to me, from the following sticky.
Cannabis Plant and Pest Problem Solver - Pictorial

As for the first leaf, how close was it to the LED? I had a lot of leaves like this my last grow, and I'm almost positive it was from too much light. Someone told me that Cal/Mag is like sunscreen for the plant though, so maybe you were right in that diagnosis? Here's a pic from my last grow. The lighting is weird, but it was the same shinyish brown that yours looks like.

1_8_15.jpg

It did seem to get better with added Cal/Mag and moving the LED slightly further away.

As for the clones, they still look pretty healthy to me! It looks like you have a tiny bit of yellowing on the tips, which tells me there might be a slight pH issue or nute burn. Does the cloner just use water? Sorry, I can't remember!

Keep trying to to keep those plants under control, you're doing a great job. Oh and it sounds like the transpiration moisture you found was from overlapping leaves? I have this issue too, but no mold so far. The plants just need to get a little more airflow or be opened up (defoliated) to allow that better airflow. You covered both those bases though. :thumb:

Sci, I will do something different next time. I am going to try the fogger cloner that The Roach has made.

JoJo, You may be right on with the P def. I am trying to wait until I get the RO filter before doing another res dump. It should be here Friday, so I will do a res dump Saturday. If not I will still do a res dump on Saturday. So basically I will do a dump on Saturday. :)

The LED's were not too close to the plants. It was not burn. It is a Cal def. I have already added some yesterday so it should be clearing up now. I just need to not forget to add that again. :)

Ok that should be all for now. I will not be doing an update until sometime tomorrow afternoon. It will be busy in the morning. New toys. :)

Jumping in here late, but it seems like your grow is doing great! Hopefully they will soon recover. They seem strong enough to do so!:thumb:

Welcome Aboard bagseedexpert! Love that name. The girls are fine despite me. :) New pictures coming of the new lights. Stay tuned.
LOL... What, your wife doesn't want to hear your "grow bitching"??! ;)

I'm JK with you man.

lol as a matter of fact, she does not want to hear it nor does she want to see it, nor does she give 2 sh... about it. lol
The wifes never want to hear our grow bitching, but we have to hear them bitch about our growing. Or more importantly how much room its taking up and how much it costs.

Keep it up Bama! Are you gonna do a perpetual grow?
Ahmen bro! :) Not really perpetual. I will not be able to grow in the summer. This past summer showed me that. I would have to spend way too much to control the temps and such. But so long as it will grow in the winter, it will be perpetual. :)
My wife just likes the money I save compared to the dispensary visits...
;)
Guess I am lucky.

She didn't like the initial costs though.. could a been cheaper if I got the right stuff to begin with ...

FE

Ahmen to that as well bro. If I knew then what I know now and all that.

Update day 12 in Flower.
Well I put up the light this morning. GD it is bright in the tent. I also ordered some Method 7 glasses but they have not gotten here yet. Serious it is a hazard to look into the tent with out some eye protection now. I took some pics after hanging the light. I have just checked on the girls as lights out is pretty soon. i swear there is almost an inch of growth on the margins with the Tuts. In the middle of the tent where the PPP's are there was at least an inch of top growth. This is all awesome. I also looked at the tracking for the other goodies I ordered, mainly the RO filter, and they are on the way but not here.

The clones are clonning. Not much to say about them not much to do about them.

I noticed one really cool difference in the flower tent today. I tried to take some pics. The flowers are starting. The pistils are a popping and from what I understand that means flowers will be following soon. So should be seeing the beginnings of nuggs soon. So that will be super cool. Another thing that is worth noting right now is I took a peek at 2 buckets this evening while I was looking around. I wanted to see the roots. OMG they are soo white and healthy looking at the moment. Just huge root balls that now make leftting the lids kinda heavy. So like I said just a bunch of goodness going on in the flower tent. I have to believe that we are over half way done with the stretch. Probably more. I could really use some more stretch and growing but i certainly have a lot of big branches. I would just like to fill in some the holes that I created with tops before they stop.

Anyway here are some pics. Put your glasses on these pics are bright. :)

Flower stages week by week

Week 1- The plant slows down its growth

Week 2- The first flowers appear at the nodes ( pistils appear on flowers for first time )

Week 3- Veg growth continues as the plant grows a total between 25%-50% larger than when flowering started

Week 4- Veg growth ends and plant focues more of its energy on flower production, odor becomes more noticeable as trichomes develop

Week 5-Flower growth explodes quickly, they become thicker and flowers appear in new places, odor intensifies

Week 6- Flower growth continues, the calyx behind the stigmas begin to swell, odors intensify even more at the end of the week

Week 7- Calyxes swell to near bursting, trichomes become more mature, making a more potent plant

Week 8- The flowers are ripe usually around the end of this week, beginning of week 9

I don't usually count weeks of flower until I see what you are looking at. The pistils coming out from the bud sites themselves not just the hairs telling me the sex, this is the plant telling you she has transitioned. Also if your 12 days into flower since the light schedule change, your more or less around a actual week into flower, taking in consideration for the transition from veg to flower. All that being said, you still are looking at a " stretch " for a couple more weeks.

Didn't mean to write such a long post for you, hope it helps. Ive just found in my grows that going by this sort of rule really helps out in the end when it comes time to harvest. Instead of harvesting early, or wondering why at the end of 8 weeks of flower they look like they are only 6 or 7 weeks in. Again sorry for such a long post.

Sciguy,

you have nothing to apologize for. Post as long as you want. You are sharing what i deem to be very valuable experiences. I was aware that flowering does not really start until after the transition from veg to flower. I did not know the actual stages and how to distinguish from them. So thanks for the education. That is the whole point of this journal for me. +reps for you.

I am happy if they continue to grow for a bit more. I really want some time to spread out the tops and for the tops on the bottom and middle of the plants to come up. I really want to max out my light foot print's potential now that I put another light (and a thousand dollars) in the tent. I really believe that light will have significant impact on my yield. I know I had some shadow areas in my tent. I know that the PPP's and the Tuts should be bigger and fuller. So this light should really get those plants to catch up and fill in. :)

Wife jokes always get me... Mine isn't overly crazy about this hobby either (yet), but I'm just thankful she let me even do it.

BTW Bama -- I hope you plant to dry your harvest outside of the house or somewhere you can get some serious odour control. Working on my outdoor harvest now and the smell has made its way upstairs from the basement. Guess I need another jar of ona gel... Last thing you need is a wife that doesn't like the hobby to have to smell dank in the house!

Lookin good here sir and have yourself a nice weekend!!

:) I have a 4" duct fan and a 4" x 12" carbon filter ready to go into the drying tent. I will seal the tent and vent it with the filter. Right now You can stand next to my flower tent and not smell anything. These filters work like a champ. I have heard stories from others but that is why I spend the money for the filters. No odors and just a little noise from the fans. I will buy fresh filters every other grow if need be. But you are right sir, if the wife had to smell the bud, she would flip out and not in a good way. :)

Update day 13 of Flower,

Well things are going well. I will start off with the clones.
Clones have varying stages of root development. The Tuts are the weakest. 4 of the PPP's have really good root development. 4 have good root development. One of the Tuts has roots and they are starting to extend. The other 2 look like shit and still have not grown roots just the root bumps.

I had the stems of the roots in the water. I changed the water today. Now the stems are above the water. I am hopeful that this will encourage the Tuts to put out some roots. I also am hopeful that this will not kill the clones. We will see.

I should be getting my veg tent today. If so I will set it up and set up my buckets. The RO filter should be here today as well. If I get them then tomorrow will be a very busy day. I want to have the clones in buckets and have the veg and flower tents changed out with RO water and fresh nutes.

In the flower tent I had to add 5 gallons of water this morning. My PPM's are down to 860. So that makes about 24 gallons that I have added to the res since my last res dump. It is time for another one, I am only delaying to see if I get my RO filter today. Once in my hand I will do a res dump and then go full steam with the RO. Normally I would be adding a bunch of supplements and nutes as it has been 3 days since the last time I did so. But I will be doing a dump tomorrow no matter what, so I did not want to waste anything.

The lights are so Fing bright. I had to turn them off while I was in the tent. Looking forward to the method 7 glasses as well. Checked the roots and they are looking great. I have to say other than a little calcium def the tent is rocking. The plants are getting bigger. The lower tops are shooting up and I am spreading them out into the holes. Tut 1 and 2 have woken up and are really putting on some growth at the moment. They love the spotlight that is on them now. The PPP's are probably the biggest growers over the last 24 hours. They are in the center and are getting light from every direction. I am so glad to have gotten the extra light.

I did not take any pics. Pretty busy around here. Today is my 12th anniversary so we are going to have a bit of fun later. I am trying to get everything done and finished before this afternoon. :) Hope everyone has a great day.
