1st Hydro - LED Grow With Crop King White Widow From Seed

I did not add any pH up. They look better this evening. I did add four gallons of water. That was why my PPM's were so high and my pH was rising so much. Getting low on fresh water. This week the girls have really started to drink. Before one gallon a week or every couple of days was enough. Now It looks like I will be adding water by the gallon per day. :)
I took some pics of the girls and the clones. The clones pretty much look the same. I did peek inside the bucket, but there is nothing to see. That is to be expected. It will be a week or more before we get roots. On the good side the lazy clone did not completely die yet. She is still not standing up though. Have not made a decision about what to do about it. I will sleep on it. I think that I will flip tomorrow. I was going to wait till Sunday but the plants are really growing faster than I had anticipated right now. Anybody that tells you that AN nutes is not worth it, I will have to say that they are. Every since I have figured out the pH range and the temps, plus when to add the Calmag, the plants have been on turbo growth. Right now you could measure growth in centimeters per hour not inches per day.
I will do a fill up on the res in the morning and start adding in bloom supplements. I will watch for signs of sex and flower. As soon as I see any of either I will do a res dump and then fill with flower nutes and supplements. But for now will keep the veg nutes. I am slightly concerned about vertical space. We will just have to see how big a stretch they want to make. :) I like Doc Buds girls. They are tall but he does a very intense defol on his girls. Is that just for aesthetics? I would think that taking so many leaves would have a negative effect on yield. I do not plan on doing any defol until well into the stretch. I will of course clean up the bottom leaves and small branches so they do not take up any resources, but from the canopy down 2 foot I will not take anything. Any thoughts about this would be appreciated. I know that Vlad struggled with this during his last grow as well. Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time to explain the pros and cons.

Now for the pics.

Update time.
This morning I added 8 gallons of water. The PPMs were at 700 and the pH was 6.3. The girls looked good but the water was lower than I thought. I had a little spillage so I could have gone with just 7 gallons. I also set my timer to 12/12 now. I added in the bloom supplements from AN. No crap it is like 7 supplements to add. I only added 50 mL of each as well as 50mL of Veg nutes A and B. I am letting that circulate right now and will go back and take some readings in about an hour.

The clones look exactly the same as yesterday. No changes that I can see for the better or the worse. So that is probably a good thing. I will go with the if they are dead they must be good approach. :)

So today is the 1st day of pre flower! I will start the clock on flower as soon as I see flowers. I am hoping that it will take about 5 -7 days for first signs of flower. The bud igniter supplement is supposed to spur early bud development. So I hope that works as advertised. Also last night I sprayed the whole tent with a fungicide/insecticide. It was just a preventative measure. I really wanted to make sure that there was nothing lurking in the canopy or anywhere else. I do not want to have to spray anything once we start to have buds. So just looking to give me a smooth transition hopefully.

Was going to post pics but I do not have the button showing that I can add pics. Weird.

By the way I also want to put this down in the journal as well, just for future reference. About 65% of the horizontal space is taken up by the canopy right now. Had I been a little more organized and proactive about training I could have that to 70% or more. I should have started training earlier and used tie downs or something other than just cropping. I will try to train the clones (provided they live) in the veg tent early and intensively. However the veg tent is only going to be 8 square feet and that is only a quarter of the space of the flower tent. I am going to have to think about this a bit more.

Quick update Day one of preflower
I came home tonight after a great football game/getogether and checked on my girls. The first thing was the lights were still on! This is three hours after they should have been dark! I checked the timer and yes I had set it up right but had forgotten to flip the switch back to timer! I have had the lights on 24/7 for the past three weeks except for one day. So first day and yes I screwed up already. lol :)

Before the game I went and took some pics to have as a kind of start of preflower. Tonight I took a pic of the clones as well. I also had a quick peek in the res and guess what? There are root "nubs" starting to form on three of the stems that I looked at. Also it looks like the lazy clone is dead or dieing fast. I will make a decision about taking another clone or popping a seed tomorrow. I am leaning towards taking another clone.

I will be checking my water level tomorrow and all my normal readings. I expect to have to add water and probably some nutes. Anyway enjoy the pics and have a great weekend everyone.

Excellent update. I wonder why "floppy" the clone never made it. All the other clones appear similar to well established plants, looking beautiful.
Good job!

I went and checked on the girls, they are doing well. There are signs of nute burn on the Tut2. It is older damage. But just looks crappy. The clones look exactly the same. I did some training on the big plants. Mostly tucking the branches down and stuff like that. I forgot to count squares but I would say we are to the 70% mark on filled in.
The water level was fine this morning. I did not have to add anything. I checked the ppm and pH and they were 1020 and 6.3. So that all seems fine. Here are a few pics. I did not sort it out but these are just a few group shots. Thanks and enjoy.

In my last grow I was always cutting off damaged leaves.
Best thing to do is adjust the mix and watch new growth.
Letting the damaged leaves stay is #1 priority over aesthetics, because the plant will absorb the reserves from that leaf and let it drop naturally in due time.

I only have pulled the damages ones off very selectively and very few at a time. based on if the new growth has been plentiful. then I don't feel it will notice it. And so far I only defoled 10-15 leaves on my pc total and that thing.. well is 3/4 of the way up my 5 ft tent. So it's working...

welcome aboard JoJo. I like your grow as well. :) The early and middle part of this journal is full of setup and epic fails. lol:) You already have a few plants under your belt so not sure you will enjoy reading through all of that. However you are getting here for the exciting part. They are getting ready to do what we all want them to do now...make flowers! :)

Ok So Day 2 of Preflower.
The girls are getting bigger. I do not think that they are in full blown stretch. WW1 PPP1 and 4 are all the tallest ones and are kind of reaching up. I am hoping that the girls only double in size and do not go crazy big. The clones are exactly the same as they were before. I am going to assume that that means they are fine. I have not taken another clone from Tut1. I also have not culled Tut1's second clone (the lazy one). The stem looks healthy so I am kinda hoping that it makes it.
Anyway here are the pics. Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks Vlad. She is big but PPP1 is the biggest by a few inches. WW1 is the tallest by one inch over PPP1. I am spreading them a bit still, I am trying to get to the tent edges. Should not be a problem once stretch gets going. As for max PPM, the WW showed nute burn about 10 days ago when I was not adding enough water a day. They were the only ones to show it at the time. So that makes me think that they have a lower tolerance or there was something off about their growth. They bounced back like champs but that is in the back of my mind.

Ok guys, I have a completely noob question for everyone. I believe I am seeing hairs in the tops and along the stems. They are in pairs and kinda look like little white pubic hairs (not trying to be raunchy, just what I thought when I saw them). These are in every plant and mostly in the tops. But they are showing up on some of the stems. I believe these are the female parts. Please let me know if I am right or is this just some weird transition or something. I am attaching some pics, but it was taken with my iphone so they are not that great.
