1st Hydro Grow

Good morning and time for some good news. The plants seem to be responding to the treatment I gave them. The yellowing has stopped and is slowly receding. Called Paul last night, and for the reasonable cost of a blunt of Bigfoot, he took a long look at the situation, and without knowing what I thought or did, came to almost the same conclusion as I did. I say that not to make myself sound smart ( with hydro, I'm about as knowledgable as a dog in a trig class), but to point out how effective the "prob & pest" post is if you go through it slowly and completely.

I'm about to go and meet my Dad to go do a little trout fishing, so I should be back by late this afternoon and hopefully I'll be able to post some pics then.

Guys, I can't thank y'all enough for all the help up to this point. This has been a somewhat humbling experience. Hopefully, I've turned the corner with these babies, as this morning there are the first signs of bud formation on all plants...even at the nodes of the most yellowed leaves. I'm sure that I'll lose some yield in this grow, but it has been a great learning exp. Sooner or later I was going to see problems, better I learn this the hard way before I drop all that coin on a new grow room.

Back this afternoon...

Day 22

Good morning all. Yesterday I found out that trout streams and digital cameras are a bad mix. Slipped on a rock and in we both went. Borrowed my friends camera to post some pics, only to find out his sucks more ass than mine. So I'm going to Best Buy when they open this morning to buy a new one.

Plants are recovering nicely and the cola bud formation is well underway...little white hairs everwhere....Giggity! There are white hairs evident on muliple nodes on all plants, so I'm happy as I can be.

McBudz...thanks for looking in on the grow, here goes an answer list for you...

I am using a total of 9 tsp of nutes (4.5 veg...4.5 flower) in an 18 gallon res.
I change the res 1 time a week
My water temps run between 68-72 degrees depending on the time of day it's checked
I use nothing but r/o water (my ppm meter crapped out on me and I have ordered a top shelf tri-meter...should be here tomorrow or Tuesday)
I am running a DWC setup and the res is completely sealed off to light
I have not tried foliar feeding
I have not flushed with anything. Thought about a 24-48 hour flush with clear water, but plants seemed to start recovering so I did not do it.
I did add Epsom Salt to treat what appeared to me to be a mag/sulphur defficiency (next day improvement began)

I can really think of no other relevant info, however, if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

See y'all later...

Sorry about the camera that sucks.

Once you start budding drop the grow big and go to 15ml per/gal TB and cal-mag+ if you can pick some up at 5ml per gallon.

Be careful using the epsom, 1tsp per gallon max. Too much espom and you'll see phosphorous lockout big time, Ive seen it first hand ;)

Try to keep res temp below 70. Maybe throw a frozen 2 liter bottled of water in there mid day.

Which 24/7 meter did you go with? I'mm looking at Nutradip tri-meter and Control Wizard. CWP is cheaper by 50 or so depending where you look. Let us know how it works out for you. Keep us up to speed on your plant health. :peace:

Sounds like things are better today.:smokin2:

O No A kerplunk accident. The last sound you hear when the camera or a person hits the water. I've kerplunked a few things the worst is a cell phone in a public restroom kerplunk ewww!!!!LoL

Pan4

lol...yeah it was bad...but not nearly as bad as dropping a cell in a public toilet...ouch!!

Things are much improved, there is color returning to the bleached out leaves and the red in the stems and leaf veins is almost completely gone. I was really starting to worry about losing the whole grow, but at least for the moment, things look much better.

Try to check back around 2pm est and I should have some pics posted. I'm going to get a camera that is a little more capable of posting close ups.

Thanks for the nute info McBudz...I'll follow it to the letter.

Great minds must think alike...I purchased the Nutradrip...cost a little under $300 usd...a real bargain if you ask me.

I will most definately keep y'all up to speed on the health of the plants. Without the guidance I've got here, SoutherWeeds 1st Hydro Grow, would most certainly be over now, and I would have thrown my hands up with the whole hydro thing for sure.

Check back this afternoon for baby bud pics.

Don't that figure. My actual delivered price was 284.87. I'm sure I could return it, but I'm so desperate for a good meter, I'll just take this one. Also, thank you for the heads up on the epsom salt. The Pest & Problem post reccomended 1-2 tsp per gallon and I split the difference and went 1.5 per gallon. I just changed the res, again, and added full bloom nutes and no epsom salts. I'll keep a very close eye on the plants and add ES if it appears that the plants go defficient again.

Things are looking better from a couple of days ago!!!

Plant quality is much more important than picture quality lol.

Looks like the start of something wonderful.

Looking good SouthernWeed:cool:

I see you have some buds.:smokin:

Good work.:cheertwo:

Thanks Pan.

Yep they are starting to bud up. Two plants appear to be about 1 week behind the other two, but that just means I'll be able to stagger the harvest.

I'm estimating 30-40 days to harvest of the first two...35-45 on the other two.

After harvest of last two, I'm going to go 12/12 with Gigabud and let her roll for awhile.

Day 27

Good morning all. Two days ago I ran into a plumbing issue that was causing raw sewage to back up into my batrooms...Jesus tap dancin' Christ that stunk to high heavens, so I had to move my plants into a closet until the plumbers could get the problem fixed. Anyhow, I was very worried about the temp in there, but I shouldn't have been. Room temps went up about 8 degrees, and the plans LOVE it! So even though the problem has been fixed, I'm leaving them right where they are. Strange how things that seem to be bad, often turn out as a positive.:cheertwo:. I have started putting a frozen bottle of water in the res during the warmest part of the day to guard against my res temp getting to high.

Not alot left to report...I'll let the pics do that for me.
