1st Grow, RainForest 318, 400W HID, Chronic Haze, Yumbolt47, California Dream

I really think yours look fuller then mine, there is way more frost on yours too. Mine are a 9 and 8-10 week strain. I guess the only way to tell for sure is at the end of the grow.

Merry Christmas bro.

Merry Christmas to you to, WarBux.

Since this is my first experience growing weed, I don't know what to expect for timing or how the plants should look. I've found that seeing it in person and seeing pictures can be two different experiences... Even the pics I take don't look like what I'm seeing when I look in the tent.

And flower times seem to be pretty vague, I've noticed. When I compile all the comments on flower times for particular strains, it comes down to a fairly inexact window. You see strains supposedly having anywhere from 7 to 11 week flowering times, a period which most strains will fall into. We should know a lot more after finishing our grows, at least for the strains we're growing...

Dec 24 - Snow outside, left vent fan on during lights out and the temp got down to 59. My mistake. Turned up heat a bit. Plants looking good, added about 1.5 gal adjusted tap water.

Dec 25 - Temps stayed 62-72 during lights out, so heater setting is good. Added another gallon tap. Ppm 755.

Dec 26 - Figured out that I had my temp/humidity sensor too close to the res, moved it up to just below top of canopy, and all of a sudden my humidity problem went away... :smokin: Ppm 704. Added some pH DOWN.
2210: Added 22ml Micro
2255: Added 44ml FloraBloom
2345: Added 11ml Floralicious Bloom
0035: Added 22ml Flora Blend
0125: Added 16ml KoolBloom

Hey there. Man those things are frosty! Good to hear that your humidity problem went away! what is your humidity usually around now?

The last 2 days, since I moved the meter, it's been around 50%, which is great. (Which means it's been like that all along...:smokin:) I turned off the dehumidifier just before lights out to see how it ranges in the dark.

the dehumidifier didnt do anything to the RH?

I don't know yet, because my meter was sitting on the lid of the res and was measuring the humidity there instead of up where the plants are. Apparently it's constantly humid there. It hasn't collected much in the ten days it's been operating, though. 2 or 3 inches total. (I haven't had to empty it yet.)

I'm thinking that the air away from the top of the reservoir (which has openings all around it) didn't have all that much extra humidity to extract. I'll see after measuring it correctly for a while.

In the vid, when I said "Chronic Haze (I think)" I referred to something I've been thinking about, the fact that I may have mixed up 2 pairs of plants back when they were seedlings. I had 2 Chronic Haze and 2 Yumboldt47s (before I added the 2 California Dreams), and I lost the 2 YB47s, one to an accident and the other to turning out male. Only now I'm looking at the 2 Chronic Hazes and they don't look like they're mostly Sativa at all. Nor do they look much like the pics on the seed website. They look like Indicas (not that I'm an expert), being relatively short, and they don't show any color but white and green so far, and that's what the Yumboldt47s look like in the website pics. The YB47 is supposedly a mostly Indica strain, so I'm thinking maybe I did mix up the two pairs way back at the start.

Just been reading up, nice job in the rainforest. How have you been changing your res? Good to see those trees holding in it. Thats pretty funny about your humidity issue before, I would love for that to be mine as well. gl and will looking foward into seeing the final result of those.

Here's something that still amazes me: each of those 4 plants is growing in one of these 3" netpots...

Hey, Dogstick. The first res change was easy; I just lifted the top off and set it on top of a 32 gal trash can. Now there's no way that top is coming off without the plants falling out - they're just too big, and the pots are tiny.
I've been pumping the res out as much as I can with a small pump, then refilling with plain water, running it for an hour, then pumping it out again, refilling and adding nutes. The second pumping is nearly clear water, so I don't think it would do any good to do another fill and pump.

Yea I have been pumping it all the way down but should throw an extra change of plain water due to the buildup at the bottom like your doing. I just have been flushing w/ florakleen every 30 days. Think I might start doing that but such a pain to do it twice every time. One of only a couple thing that I dont like about the system but overall it has been good

I need to get some FloraKleen. At least before final flush... :>)

How have your ppm numbers been so far? And what kind of water are you using?

Sweet thanks for stoping by and taking a look at my grow.
I am using tap water with a pur filter but that does not seem to change the ppms though, the water stands at 200ppm. I have been thinking about an RO sytem, is that what you are using? I am 11 days into 12/12 and my ppms are 1150 with the 200 subtracted from it. Yea FloraKleen will work great as a final flush.

I was using RO mixed with tap, but lately I'm just adding tap water that's been pH-adjusted (too lazy to drive 3 blocks to the water store). Mine is about 180ppm out of the faucet. My total ppms have been between around 600 to 800 total, so subtract 180 from that to get the nute ppm. I decided before I started to go light on nutes. So far, so good.

Yea you should always take the RH and temps at canopy level. I have to drain my dehumidifiers once every 2 or 3 days. Well at least now you know that you didnt really have a humidity problem.

When you hold that lighter up there you can really tell how full the plants are. How long are your strains supposed to go?
