Ordered some seeds for next grow. Going to try 6 different strains, using the No Mercy 12/12 method. Hopefully I can control growth enough to get all six to semi-healthy harvest...

The six strains:

Yumboldt47 and Chronic Haze - Since I'm not sure which of these 2 strains I have this grow (might have gotten them mixed up before losing one), I'm doing them both again and hoping both survive this time...

Reserva Privada Kandy Kush - Kush x TrainWreck; "a classic stretch of the OG Kush that bulks up and fills out like the TW to give you OG flavour and TW nugs. Once again we bring the medicinal benefits and the great taste of the OG Kush and crossed it to classic Cali. Train Wreck strain - known for it's good commercial yields, frostiness and lemony scents. The sweetness of this Kush hybrid is comparable to kandy and after one hit you will keep coming back for more!! Heavy crystal production comes on after the 5th week but does not stop producing! One of the most resinous plants in our catalog"

Dutch Passion Blueberry - "...a mostly Indica (80% Indica, 20% Sativa) strain, that dates to the late 1970's. The Blueberry Feminized is a large producer under optimum conditions. A dense and stout plant with red, purple and finally blue hues, that usually cure to a lavender blue. The finished product has a very fruity aroma and taste of blueberry. It's Cannabis Seeds produce a notable and pleasantly euphoric high of the highest quality and is very long lasting. Medium to large calyxes. Dutch Passion Blueberry Feminized has a long shelf life. 4 times cup winner!"

Green House Seeds Super Lemon Haze - Lemon Skunk x Super Silver Haze; "won the 2008 High Times Cannabis Cup with a landslide of votes. Its incredibly intense lemony flavour, with a strong haze background has a sharp and intense taste, which reminds of lemon, lime and pink grapefruit, followed by a very earthy and musky haze aftertaste, with traces of incense and black pepper. The effect is very balanced; it starts with a quick indica-hit feeling that softly moves to a very strong high, with a social and creative side. The Super Lemon Haze is a very smooth compromise between the great qualities of its parents. It's cannabis seeds has 9-10 weeks flowering time, and a very typical Christmas tree shape. Plants tend to grow quite tall, but the internodes are not too far apart, and allow easy topping. The leaves are very sativa-like, while bud formation comes dense and has a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. The Super Lemon Haze is very effective both indoors and outdoors, and responds very well to high-EC hydro systems as well as organic soil setups. When cultivated in soil, the spectrum of terpens is more developed and gives an extra lemony flavour. The THC is high at over 22%, ensuring a very psychedelic experience to even the most experienced smokers.
Effect: A very lemony haze, works fast and lasts long. It's a very powerful high, very balanced between a physical and a cerebral side."

DNA Genetics LA Woman - Martian Mean Green x LA Confidential.

I hope to pick 1 or 2 favorites from those and grow those in my following grow, using the Ebb and Gro system. Will need a bigger tent for that...

I posted some pics should come take a look at my mess. One thing I forgot to mention but sure you might already know when using an airstone look for the ones that give off the finest bubbles. The cheaper ones give off huge bubbles.

wow they are looking badass. You bought some good strains! I have all of the ones you just got except the yumbolt47. I cant wait to try out the blueberry and kush

The one I'm most interested in is the Super Lemon Haze. Sounds great. I just hope I can keep it under control - supposed to be a tall one. Never tried any of them though.

Jan 14 - Not much change at all. Temps and RH good, pH good.

Jan 15 - Checked trichs again, and the Chronic Haze has mostly cloudy, no amber. Cut off the 4th-tallest top for drying and testing for future reference.

Here's the top after a trim:

Here's a little colita of California Dream that's dried (the top of the one in the pics earlier showing the whole branch - see post of 1/11/09):

Looking pretty good man. How are you drying them?

The big one just cut is being dried traditionally, slowly while hanging in a closet. The little nugs I've been snipping I've dried by baking (pre-heat the convection oven to 230 then shut it off and let the box sit and cool) and/or sitting it inside a domed heated germination station inside a partially-opened jar, then when the outside gets dry, shutting the jar until the moisture evens out again.

I've been smoking it before it's completely dry by blowtorching it in a glass bubbler pipe with a Bic... Works OK.

LOL I have a butane torch I use with my RooR. First time I used it I almost died. I didnt turn the torch down low enough and cleared an over packed bowl in one hit. I need to start planning for harvest. I don't know where I am going to dry these things at just yet.

Time flies. I haven't planned much beyond "get them to harvest" myself. At this point it's just a trich watch, so I guess I should get some clothespins ready...

Have just been adding water and checking trichs lately. Cali Dreams have a few amber ones, the others don't. All have mostly cloudy ones with some clear left to go. As soon as I get more ambers with at least some ambers on all plants I'll start flushing.

The Chronic Haze bud I clipped dried at around 13 grams. I've cut it in two and am continuing to dry/curing in a large jar now. Tried a little in a bowl and it's already trippy stuff, even with a lot of clear trichs left and no ambers. Smoked it while watching "The Fountain" and actually enjoyed it...

Looks like you have a lot more head room then I do. Is that tent 8 ft in height? I am at the max with about a 8in gap from the light and the top of one beauty. I will make sure next go around that I will go for much shorter plants, thinking of a scrog with the papaya.
Your garden looks great, looking foward to the smoke reports and the pics of harvest time. GL

Bolivar, Rainforest 318, would you buy it again? Were you happy with outcome?

It grows plants well, I'll say that. I'm going to be trying to get 6 plants to harvest next grow, so we'll see how that goes. I just let these 4 go and they filled the tent. I won't do that again, because there isn't much room left to get to all sides without turning the whole system around. Plus, I didn't really do any pruning or training, other than a couple of stretchy stems that were trained sideways early in the grow.

The system grows roots really well. I can't wait to see the total mass after harvest. It looks like more roots than water now, just peeking into the top. The spray worked great 24/7 the whole time (since Oct) and there weren't any problems with the system at all. The one change I'd make would be to put a clear level indicator hose instead of the blue-tinted one they use. When it's in shadow I have to stick a little flashlight behind it to be sure I'm seeing the water level.

Looking great. The finish is in sight. New strains sound fantastic. I will be looking for you new journal.

Thanks, Screwnuts. Been learning from your journal among others the whole time. Can't wait to get started on another grow myself, just not sure I'll do another forum journal yet. Might wait till I get some different equipment.

That's a DR150, so it's about 6'7" if I remember correctly. I've got light damage on all the tallest tops, and the light's been as high as it can get for a long time...

Next grow we're going to have a little more height and width discipline around here... :smokin:
