150W HPS - 18 pics - 9 weeks flower

Here are some pics. The nice camera is dead, these are from my phone.

This first pic is about 4 days after 4/20 harvest. The stuff was hanging dry, but after a few days, it was getting dry too fast. So I took all the hanging branches down, cut them in half and placed them in the box that was lined with parchment paper. I also covered the buds with parchment and placed some magazines on top to compress the buds a bit.

The buds stayed like that for another 3-4 days then they were trimmed from the branches and placed in jars to cure.
You can see the different colors of one half of the box compared to the other. The darker buds are from the top half of the branches. The greener buds are from the lower half.

And here is a pic of the final take. I ended up with over 90 grams of trimmed bud. I left the smallest sugar leaves on the buds to provide a little teardrop shaped protection. I was not too picky about grading the bud. It all smokes fine for me, so only the very bottom loose buds were sent to the leaf bag.

There's over an ounce of sugar leaves for hash making and budder.

nice pull man. looks like you got a pretty nice yield! My girls had the same issue with drying. I had some super crispy nugs and a few bigger tops that were almost done, so I ended throwing them into jars together hoping that the crispies would suck the extra moisture out of the bigger tops and level out. Glad to say it worked, and now they're curing.

oh, sorry to ramble buddy,
again, nice harvest!

Sorry for not coming by for awhile Joe. Just totally slacking. I'm also smoking too much of Big Girls little bud. You may know what I mean. Well I'm stoked for ya and give yourselves a big pat on the backs (I'm including the wife )! I wish my wife would be more enthusiastic about it all! Anyway mine should be chopped any day now. Just bought some Happy Frog organic potting soil (4 cubic ft.) for the outdoor pots. Big relief knowing that I wont be stuck with the slug from Wally's. Sorry Joe here I am ramblin about my sh*t. Your the man of the hour!:cheer::Rasta:

People coming by on a timely basis is not a big deal. It's spring time. I know what you mean about smoking the buds.

It sucks about your wife's lack of enthusiasm. I hope she at least appreciates that you are doing something you like to do and makes you happy. Life is about being happy. No?

Ramble on my friend .... how much was that soil?

I'm going to pull all the buds out and check them all more thoroughly. I plan to place them back in jars and pack them tighter and check them every 3 days.

nice. I like how dark they are. You definatly have enough to last at least a couple days, eh? ;) Are you planning the next grow yet? same strain or different?

you got it all guy, and you're growing a great product....and i cant tell you the times i get one oz off a plant....so there....for me its just all an experiment to experience....sooo many strains, and dangit, not enough time...you're doing great....later, lavendar:thumb::thumb:

I read that they will change color and develop more taste and less cotton mouth with some more cure time. When ground up, and looked at closely, the colors are amazing.

The next grow...hmmm

I've been going back and forth on this for months.

The plant is currently in reveg under a flouro. Not sure what her fate is.

I have two strains that stand out in my mind.
- super lemon haze from greenhouse seeds
OR
- blue rhino from positronics

maybe I should take a poll

Also thinking about upgrading the cabinet.
I also found an inexpensive ballast and lamp setup with a 430 W Son Agro HPS. I read this bulb has 30% more blue spectrum and added.

Awesome Pics Joe! That's one heck of a crop for the one plant with a 150w. Big time Reps for ya buddy!

The wife won't change anytime soon. Not until she starts to smoke again! Who knows if that will happen, she goes on and off just like with cigs. She always reminds me that it's my 'fault' that she's smoked MJ. I always tell her the same thing, "There is nothing wrong with smoking Marijuana, it's an herbal medicine, natural and has been used for ages and ages by people all over the world!" Useless!

Big Kudos on the 430w Joe! You decide what it is you like to smoke, your favorite that is, then grow it! With the new light, you'll have some excellent sh*t on your hands.

Like you, I also would like sample something..........:Rasta:

Joe, it just dawned on me that you had asked about the cost of the soil! Just hit me all of a sudden. In fact I looked all over the the different threads until I found the right post! Sorry It took me so long to answer. each 2 cubic foot bag of Happy Frog cost me just under 22 dollars each! Got it at the only place around here that has the good stuff. My wife almost killed me!:ganjamon:

very nice joe:bravo:nice haul for the size light and space. how long did u veg for?

OMG, it was forever ... lol ... the plant grew from seed over summer of 2009. Harvested early, started reveg around end of sept or beginning october. Kept it alive in garage under 1 small cfl for a month. Finally got the cabinet rocking in December. I wanted to bud it much earlier than i did, but I had to transplant and solve some other nute issues.

So the short answer, it vegged for like 3-4 months

I bet. did you wear a helmet when you told her.

Funny Joe! No not a helmut, but I wish I had some earplugs. I told her the day I came home with the stuff (along with an $18 bottle of neem oil concentrate), I just left out the part that involved the cost! LOL

What I did was use some of it for her vegetables that I was re-potting (peppers, sugar peas and green beans and also some basil). I was mixing it with some peat and the crummy potting soil from Wally's along with some perlite. when she found out how much I spent on the soil (Happy Frog) she flipped out. She couldn't believe how they could charge so much for soil! When I told her that it was for both of our needs (wink wink) she told me not to waste it on her stuff and only use it on mine. Not because she was being nice, but her reasoning was that if I use it up potting her stuff, I'd have to get more! She was right about that! She has reminded me of the cost several times since last week!:bong:

Sounds funny man. I agree, keep that good stuff for your plants.

On our home front, the sump pump float trigger got stuck and didn't trip... by the time wife got to the basement we had 4 inches covering everything.

We've learned from the past and had most everything UP. The grow cab got wet, but didn't hurt anything. I cut the power to the cab anyway.

I'm letting my harvested lady live or die on her own outside. I have plans to upgrade the cab in the next week and start some SLH in 2 weeks.

Lots of work to do:
- purchase seeds (done)
- purchase air pots
- purchase soil
- purchase nutes
- purchase dimmer switch for exhaust fan
- purchase used light
- clean, disinfect the cab
- paint cab interior white or hang mylar
- install 430 hps
- replace pc fans with beefier ones (the low noise ones both jammed up)
- replace carbon in filter

HAHAHA I guess its a pretty common thing with wives and the money we spend on our plants ;) I get ten tons of crap everytime i spend any $ let alone for my grow .... Who cares i pay the bills and buy her all her crap while shes in school So i use what $ i need to  Should seen her face when i walked in with the 4 cfl's and a humidity gage and theremometer hahah :whoa:
I found some really good stuff for lining the walls in your grow cab. Its flat white material used for lining your silverware drawers. Its like tape on one side and cheap as hell so its perfect! ;) got mine at menards
