Would it work better if you turn on some Iron Butterfly also? "Inna Gadda Da Vida" under the black light always got me fired up!

ya those little leds that are on everything somtimes are a pain in the butt when trying to flower bud plants.lol. i covered them all up just incase this is the reason? i dont know if thats the reason or not? but things are lagging this time, but i am just happy their all still healthy:wood: i should have just done the 36hr dark period before flower to kick things into gear, they seem to be at least a week behind and that how long they were exposed to the little led light on the swamp cooler and timer. dont get me get me wrong it wasn't a very bright light but it was their and noticeable, but not very bright so i dont know? maybe its the maxi bloom nutes compared to my Lucas formula last time? maybe its the hempy? or the temps? well just have to see how long until they start flowering good. if nothing good by next week then ill start tripping.lol

Thanks for posting this Irish. I wasn't even thinking about all of the LED's I have in my system. I will get them covered up before the flip. Thanks man, this might have saved me some issues down the road. :blunt:

ya its something to cover up just in case. i am pretty certain that those lights were messing with the girls a little. they are been looking better ever since i covered things up. its sucks that i might be a week or so behind now on flowering and it will take longer to harvest. i love this HS smoke. cant wait to smoke it agian
 
well i just figured out what was going on with my plants not flowering. its not the led light from the swamp cooler, i just noticed since my exhaust hose wasn't insulated its leaking light in. i just seen my led light leaking threw the exhaust hose so its for sure letting light in. all have to mod it tonight. i just waisted two weeks! now how should i count my flowering time? should i start over on just keep counting it? what do u guys think?
 
ok i got things all light proof. i put insulation around the vent hose and look at the end of the hose and no light is coming threw anymore. i am pretty upset i just threw away 2 weeks of my flowering because of a vent hose leaking light. but i guess better to catch it @ 2 weeks instead of 3-4.lol.

let this be a lesson and learn from my mistake, check your vent hoses if they are running into another place that has light. this was an avarge vent hose from the hydro store so the chances are some of you have the same type. go to the hard ware store and get the insulated vent hoses, they cut down on noise and dont leak light, plus their cheaper then the cheap ones at the hydro store made by hydrofarm or sunlight supply. check ur hoses!
 
Was it enough light to mess with the flowering on all - or just a branch or two?
 
@Irishboy so out of all the leds you tested would you say the growledhydro ones are the best you tested? I'm building a grow cab of this size 36" H x 18" D x 26" W and was wanting to get a 120w led i seen that company has the Spectra LED 120 for 389.99 think I should get it? I was only wanting to grow like 3 low ryders or easy ryders and if anyone else who reads this has that light i would like to hear your opinions thanks

i think so? i never got to see it when the lights were out, i just seen it when the light was on, and it was leaking quite a bit light out. i would say it was enough but not 100% sure. i can say it wasn't good.lol

out of the ones i tested i would yes yes their the best. IMO you would be allot better off and happier with at least an 180w unit. i just dont like the 120w units because their smaller, it seem an 180w would go good in your cab.
 
Look at it this way Irish, the plants are bigger. :) Ya, it doesn't take much to disturb them when there flowering. I actually had to turn off one of my porch lights because it's close enough to my plants to cause them to stretch for the light. Who would of thought a standard 60 watt bulb that's probably 50 ft or so away from my girls, and there still stretching for it.

I got 99 problems but weed ain't ONE!! Woo hoo 99 posts.

ya they say anything brighter then the moon or a brightness of a candle will do it. they defiantly are bigger now. i look at it one way, it is what it is and i cant change the past all i can do it make the future better
 
I know you are probably sick of hearing this but amazing canopy, looks like you could walk across it. I wonder if the delay has less to do with the little light leaks and more to do with the heat. I know the heat can slow things up, just a thought. Great job...

nope never get tired of hearing that.lol

i am sure the delay in flowering has to do with all of those things working against them. but for sure the light leak didn't help, hopefully they kick into gear soon
 
hey irish sorry to hear about your light leak issues. little unexpected things like that can be annoying but you seem to be taking it well. Of course having six fine looking ladies its hard to be too disappointed. :grinjoint:
I am curious though did you foliar feed with the silica at all? do you think it would be fine to foliar feed them during flowering? I also picked up some pinapple rush flora nectar. the guy at the shop said it is better to use it the whole grow but if i remember correctly you had only used it for the last half or maybe 3/4 of flowering. What do you know in addition to your experience about the most useful time to start using it?

no i dont foliar feed i dont like it unless its really needed. i would never spray anything on my buds either even if the bottle say use up to the day of harvest, your still spraying stuff on your buds and i dont like that idea. i stop using it once i flush to harvest.

you can used the flora nectar threw the whole grow but i only use it once i hit 12/12 from the start to the end. 2tsp per gal.

have you noticed if the flora rasies of lowers your ph?

i havent really ever checked if it lowers it. i know it hardly changes the ph but not to sure if it lowers it.

that would suck if they turned hermie. dont scare me like that, that would be the 1st time ive gotten one. i think they will be fine just a little behind regular flowering time.
