This is a great trick.. I use frozen water bottles the last 4 weeks or so of flowering in my bubbler setup.... The water bottles can be re-frozen many times over without cracking...

More good convo. Just thought I'd toss in 2 cents on the water bottles. Certainly a good cheap easy way to cool. Make sure when you fill them, you squeeze the bottle before putting on the cap. This will give it room to expand and not crack the bottle.

yes ive done it all toped, FIMed, LST never done supercroping.
but i didnt like toping or FIMing them 1 bit.

ya the every other day thing works out great, allot less stress on your stems. its also better to LST a few hours after you water them, softens things up a little. If you get time you should read this thread lots of great info on here from some of the top growers on this forum

Irish, you're right there's gonna be loads if grow info here. I like others are turning into informaiton sponges. Alot of this info I'm cutting and pasting for future reference. This thread should have a page count poll, my official pagecount guess would be 130. Loads of intellect here too, 50/popo/the man, should read through threads like this to see how growers really are, then read through a Jack Daniels thread and come to thier own conclusions. Irish, when you were talking about that final flush, were you ph ing your water or at that late stage of the game it doesn't matter whether or not it's ph balanced?

to be honest i would PH it. but ive done both ways and never had any trouble. i always figured once the plants done growing and i am about to harvest, its not going to kill them, but that me being lazy. I would recommend to ph all your water.

I wanted to talk about this topic. lots of people have theor own opinions on this topic. What is the best light cycle to vegg under? 18/6 or 24/0?
Marijuana plants Photosynthesize as long as they receive light as well as water, air, nutes and suitable temperature. Photosynthesis is the process in witch plants use energy from light (Primarily in the blue and red spectrum) to combine carbon-dioxide (CO2) from the air and water (H2O) to make sugar while releasing oxygen to the air. Plants use sugars continuously to fuel metabolic processes (living) as well as for tissue building. The plant combines Nitrogen with sugar to make amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. they are the substance of plant tissue. When the light is off, the plants metabolic processes, respiration and growth continue. cannabis plants can photosynthesizes continuously, so it produces the most energy & growth when the lights are on continuously.
Plants under 18/6 are producing sugar only 3/4 of the time. they are thus growing at only 75% of their potential. leaving the lights on continuously will result in bigger plants faster, witch leads to higher yield.

But don't plants need both dark and light cycles to grow properly and adequately? Not sure at all...just chiming in...

no not during veg. During the light period, plants photosynthesize, but they also continue all other phases of metabolism including respiration and growth. Observations of comparable gardens on 18/6 and 24/0 show that marijuana plants do not need a dark period. the plants grow about a third faster on continuous light compared to 18/6.
Now on this topic you will get mixed reviews, just like 24 hours of dark before harvest, or 24-36 hours of dark before flowering, or flushing before harvest. its just one of those topics.
Ive done side x side and seen it with my own eyes and this is why i pay the more money on power and veg 24/0. although the growth rate will pay for itself since growth is faster and you can veg shorter IMO.

in sunshine mix with just just base nutes i hit around 12" with LST being done. I hardly grow without LST. so week 1 I LST them all the way down then week 2 their about 12" or a little more
Now with flora blend and GH flora series and Hempy on day 6 (Today) most of my plants are around 8-10" before I LST them

Any time bro. its worth a try doing one time and you can make up ur own mind. 1 thing to keep in mind is with those heights i was talking about when i was using leds for veg. with HID the heights should be taller because of stretching. these lights from mike seem to just stack the nodes during veg, i was expecting them to be stretched out because of my high temps. i am digging it. my lights are around 27-28" i might do another grow just straight up and know LST to see how the plants forum.
I just hope i can pull off this grow with these temps? these girls are looking good and healthy, i am about to step up the GH nutes to veg mode, Ive only been feed on a 1-1-1 ratio with the 3 part.
I will tell you what? i am really digging this Hempy setup that i made. the top is staying nice and moist and cool with i put my figure in the top few inches. once these girls hit the res they just bushed out real nice with new growth. every day is more and more dramatic. I am not use to this hydro growth. As of now i dont think i will change this setup using Hempy's. hepy's and LST kick ass on their own but mixed together i am thinking its gonna be a potent mix?
