Zurple's DWC Bag Seed Grow Journal, 2019

Here is an updated picture of all 3 plants this morning. They look a lot better today. I ordered a larger air pump this morning, so I will upgrade it tomorrow afternoon when it gets here. I am hoping they will like more air bubbles.

They are most definitely looking better. I have a hunch, when you get the extra air in the water, they’ll do great. Just remember, whatever line of nutrients you use, maintain the ratio they suggest, just scale the strength back.

Looks like your giving them what they need. They all look healthy.plant 3 is coming around. I believe the GH to be great because of the results from people here. ONLY reason I went with AN was because you have a less likely chance of the PH swings. AN was expensive. Also look and see if whatever brand you are using has a feed calculator. You could take the bottom leaves closest to the bucket if you want to clip. I only do it when it’s a must. Your plants look great so I would just let it grow for now.

I was thinking the same thing. Thank you.

I'm not worried about the price of nutrients, especially if it keeps me from having to pay $300 for an ounce of weed locally!

It’s about the same here for decent bud. We consume 3/4 to 1 ounce of week. Tired of paying the prices we decided to grow for us also.
I'm taking a thc break for a couple of days. I haven't smoked since Sunday night. I'll be cranky for a few days. lol

I'm gearing up for my Colorado trip next weekend!!!!

I’d rather battle air problems than temp problems. My res is running at 82F right now so I had to order a chiller. Air pumps are much cheaper :goodluck:

Today I installed a Vivosun 950gph 6 outlet air pump and those bubbles are rocking. Here are some updated pictures and I know Plant 2 looks lime green, but it's the same green as the others. For some reason my camera made it look that color. Plant 3 still looks a little droopy to me, but it looks healthy. I also topped plant 2 & 3 on their new branches from the last topping, hopefully I didn't do it too soon, but they're bag seed and I'm practicing.

I am also running my ph a little higher at the moment. I had them all at 5.8, which was supposed to be the sweet spot for hydro, but I was told that was during flower, and in veg should be around 6.0 to 6.5?

Guess which plant that I'm hoping like hell is a female?

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with water temp issues. Luckily, I have a window unit AC in the upstairs room where my tent is located. I keep it running at 70 degrees and my water stays between 69 and 71 so far. It's going into fall here, so our temps will continue to go down. I hate to see my next electric bill!!!!

Can you purchase a cheap, portable ac unit? I found them cheaper than the chiller option, and they have a built in dehumidifier. The one I am going to buy for next summer was like $300 at Home Depot.

Dodged a bullet last night. I went up for one last peek before going to bed and the new air pump was louder than usual. The main hose going to the splitter had popped off, so no air was going to the buckets!

Needless to say, it has hose clamps on it now.

I like my room temp around 80, just not my water temp. Chiller is the key for me

That makes sense. My grow room is in a separate area of our house that we hardly use.
I keep it pretty cool. We had 60 degree weather this morning, but now it's 90.

I tried my first grow in hydro and it didn’t turn out to good for me. Went to soil after that and haven’t looked back since. Good luck though
How long into your grow did you get with hydro? The reason I ask, is that I am trying to determine if I am far enough that it will be smooth sailing from here until harvest. I still have to go through the flowering stage, but I think I may have veg under control. lol

About week 7/8 of flower on Blue Dream. Got root rot and decided to try soil.
