Yankeetoker At It Again: C99 & Pineapple Chunk In Soil Under LED Lights

Re: Yankeetoker At It Again - C99 & Pineapple Chunk In Soil Under LED Lights

Is that CINDY!?! Cindi Lopped-her?

... You look great girl. Got it going on!

......Yeah. I know. We all should have started taking care of ourslves earlier, but d*mn girl. You look sweet.

Shaving .. Oh yeah. It's homecoming weekend. Those legs could use a shave.

If it's not going to be a beautiful flower, and it's down low, those little hairs needs plucking.

You don't want no 12 hair flowers. Trust me.. I've been there.

And you Patti cakes! Wow :cheer:

That light really was going to toast you into Beyonce land. Glad you found a way out of a relationship that was going bad.

... Yeah, it hurts to lose a week. But I know you. You'll come back strong :)

:goodjob:

Thanks, Rado. ...I'm becoming more comfortable taking "risks" in my grow....I was thinking about adding some kelp and agsil to their next watering....kelp for stress and silicate to help with repair. Possibly even some aloe....what you think?

Not worried about losing a week if it improves the grow. ...will continue to remove bottom "twigs" after I give them some time to recover.

Looking forward to seeing what the middle of the plants can do now.

Not sure what de-stress is but sounds like seaweed/kelp based.. That's what I'd foliar with to reduce any stress..

Personally, I don't know. From what I have read, it sounds good. Kelp and aloe, as natural plants, should be safe to add to soil at all times. If the soil food web isn't ready to absorb them, it will just ignore them. Agsil is fairly safe, but there may be a potential to overdose.

I would recommend you follow Grizzwald's advice. I'm only a 2 year grower and not one of the best !

Thanks for the answer. I'm not sure what Doc Bud's de-stress is, but I think it's mostly organic - so thanks.

Foliar seems like the way to go. The spray goes straight into the plant without waiting for the next watering time.

I salute your wisdom.

So I checked on the girls this evening after supercropping and defoliating the bottoms of both plants (gradually, but I'm clearing it out).

Cindy was ready for a soaking, so I soaked her in pH adjusted rainwater and top watered with a gallon of water with aloe, coconut, Agsil, and kelp added to ease the stress of supercropping (which she has responded well to).

A few pics....

Patti was not quite ready for a soaking/watering, but should be ready tomorrow evening.

She has also responded well to supercropping so far. Will continue to defoliate the bottom of the plant.

Thanks guys for the suggestions, much appreciated!

Late to the party, but your plants are gorgeous! :bravo:
I'm here for the ride.
What is that device with the blue digital display you have in the 9/18 pics?
Is that the pH meter? Sorry if my noob is showing
:Namaste:
Better late than never! Thanks for joining us!

The device that you see is a digital scale that I use to keep track of my plants weights each time I tend to them (twice a day).

I recorded the "dry weight" of each pot before transplanting into them, so when my plants get close to that weight, I know it's time to water them (ie. soak them in 3 gallons of water for approx 20 minutes). I also water in 1 gallon of whatever I'm feeding them (after the soak).

See pic...

I have been doing this since they were in solo cups (using a smaller kitchen scale), and it has taken the guesswork out of when to water (Thanks Arteekay)!

Thanks again for stopping by...

Who would have thought it would be 2015 before weighing pots became the norm. Haha mad reps to RTK for getting the trend started. It's a failless system. Looking good as always Yankeetoker, great updates. :thumb:

KiG brother :green_heart:cheers
Thanks, Snid....weighing pots has really taken out the "guesswork " and made it much easier to monitor my plants and their water usage. Best $$ I've spent for sure!

Update 10/8/16 (Day 27 of 12/12 and 80 from seed)

Temps consistently in the high 70s-low 80s. RH is a bit too high for my taste in the low-mid 60s.

Both plants were given an alfalfa-kelp-EWC foliar drench on 10/5.

Prepared an alfalfa-kelp-EWC nutrient tea last night and will give both plants 1 gallon tonight. Cindy is getting close to her "dry weight", and will be soaked as well this evening.

Patti still has a couple of days before needing to be soaked, but will get some tea to help with color...she looks "hungry".

Both plants seem to be recovering well from supercropping on 10/2.

Some pics from the last couple of days...

Cindy...I have removed quite a few tiny branches from the bottom of the plant and some huge fan leaves that were blocking bud sites.

Patti...has also been defoliated a bit. Bud sites continue to develop and overall a pretty healthy plant. Side branching is amazing...

I took some flak for being anal about it, but in the end almost all agreed it was worth it. Since we've settled into a "system", we don't weigh the late flowering plants as much anymore, we just make sure they don't bottom out.

But in veg I'm still meticulous. We're back to just the paper journal of weights and nute formulas instead of our excel spreadsheet, which now is really just a seed inventory, germination success tracker, and a tab for age, expected finishing dates, final weights and the like.

Takes just a few seconds while doing whatever other maintenance is required.

Truly the best 50 bucks we spend was on the postage scale, and it truly warms my heart it's helped you as well. Thanks YankeeToker!

Edit: How incredibly rude of me. I can't believe I didn't even talk about your garden! Man have you come a long way since the last time I checked up on you. Mad props and a +rep slap are well deserved.

Thanks, arteekay for the props and rep, it means a lot! I have definitely come a long way, and I have several of you guys to thank for that..

Everytime I see your updates, I just want to drop another seed. Unfortunately I can really only handle 2 mature plants at a time. I will definitely do a better job of training any sativas I grow moving forward because this girl is a monster!

Re: Yankeetoker At It Again - C99 & Pineapple Chunk In Soil Under LED Lights

Quick update 10/9/16

Watering last night....

Cindy was soaked in 3.5 gallons of rain/tap water and top fed about 3/4 gallon of alfalfa-kelp nutrient tea (with 7.5 ml of CalMag/gallon). After soaking/watering she had "gained" 16 pounds.

Patti was not soaked, but was top fed about 1.25 gallons of alfalfa-kelp nutrient tea and "gained" 9 pounds.

Based on my calculations they will need water every 4-5 days. I will top feed only at 1.25 gallons per plant unless girls are getting water (with CalMag) only which I will allow them to soak in.

I will put them on a 4-5 day watering schedule and not rely on my scale as much.

Cindy.....According to breeder 7-8 week flower (@ Day 28 since flip)
