Xlr8's Psychedelic Bloom Party Extravaganza

re: Xlr8's Psychedelic Bloom Party Extravaganza

X I hope all is well with you, but the main reason
for me to mention The Main-Lining Thread here
is because of height issues a lot of growers have
and back problems.
If you can add 18''to 24'' from the
floor with a roll out table or something
that would fit in the space you have
it would help with the back pains.

Hey there WildBill - I'm always in favor of ideas to help my back! Thanks again for sharing that. That element might not help me in that I don't have the vertical space or space in general to make that work, but that's a good point for some I'm sure. :)

Bring on the pic's Keepem Green

Your wish is my command! These pics are from Day 63 from transition to bloom photoperiod (9 weeks)

Still not ready, but they are getting close! Less than a week to go...

For those who've been following from the beginning, you might remember this was a bit of a "mixed spectrum" experiment. I am running dual 400w bulbs - one is a "Warm Deluxe" Sunmaster Metal Halide (MH), and the other is a Hortilux Super HPS. Vortex and Humboldt were more directly under the HPS. Pineapple Express and Jillybean were more directly under the MH. Pre-98 Bubba was right in the middle, though slightly shorter and below optimum lighting height. In the past for bloom phase, I ran both as Horti Super HPS.

For fun and in an attempt to get some prettier pics, I've let it get a bit cooler a couple of days to see if any of these would exhibit purple color traits. The lowest I've let it get during lights off is about 59f. I wanted to go more, but froze my wife out... (true story!!). Still, you'll notice some pretty purples in some of the pics.

I've been blessed with a pretty hassle-free grow start to finish --- how 'bout that?! I feel like things were finally really dialed in, with the exception of "me". The one regret is not doing more with defoliation and cleaning up the bottoms, but the crowding and my bad back made this difficult to do as well as I'd like - especially given the fact that I'm not shooting for huge yields and will still have plenty of bud as I only grow for my own needs.

This grow has been done strictly with Blue Planet Nutrients products with a couple of minor exceptions. The nutrients consisted of: BPN 3-part Elite base nutrients, BPN Seaweed, BPN Vita Blue, BPN Liquid Blue, BPN Early Bloomer and BPN Root Magic (yes, I did it in hydro with success - for any interested just ask - I'll share a little trick I figured out for using it in a system like this that I found to be pretty useful). The only other additives I used were a Silica supplement, some Cal/Mag, and "Zone" root conditioner.

Okay on with the pics!:

re: Xlr8's Psychedelic Bloom Party Extravaganza

:yahoo:Go Jilly Bean!! Glad to see you still playing with that one- Do you have plans to use her in future grows? I know I've missed a lot, and, frankly I'll probably never get caught up completely so I aologize for asking, but are your feelings on JB still the same? I had her grow a little small, slightly airy (likes to fox-tail) But still some superb herb imho....

Also glad to see you still rocking Blue Planet, I see some newer ingredients in the line up. I'm fond of the Root Magic myself.

Looking forward to smoke reports:high-five:

Hi Quix!

Haha, don't worry about catching up - I'm just happy to see you around again brother. :)

This is the first Jillybean for me (finally!). So, I'm not sure yet. If it's as good as it looks and smells, I'd definitely like to grow her again. I'm going to do some sampling tonight I think.

Yup, mine is foxtailing too - seems to be not uncommon with some of the TGA strains, but it's not my favorite trait for whatever reason. This appears to be more of a genetic foxtailing than a stress foxtailing - I think Sub calls it "dreading". I think it's a bit of a sativa trait in that in addition to the foxtailing, it's stacking new calyx's all over the bud pretty much constantly. Just like my Jack The Ripper, though this is more prolific. This plant should yield pretty decent I think, as the colas are pretty large considering how many there are.

Glad to hear you still think fondly of Jillybean Q - I definitely thought of you when I finally got one of them going. :high-five:

Wow X.
You're damn good..

re: Xlr8's Psychedelic Bloom Party Extravaganza

Your pictures are so diverse man I love that so much! I wish I could make growing multiple strains look as easy as you do!!

Just picture perfect bro. Have you ever though of sending one of your pics to the breeder??

Wow - thanks UG! No, I've never thought of doing that. Neat idea, though, if I could get a bit better background behind some of the shots especially. Not sure they're that good, but I sure appreciate the nice compliment. :) :)
