Well, that's how I feel about soil, lol. It's foreign to me! I agree, that topping method looks like a useful strategy indoors. Thanks for the props, BID!

i guess thats why we all grow in so many different ways , your a master with hydro and im getting there with my coco/soil blends right now all my kids are in coco with some amendments no soil to speak of, with my gdp i wanted the best possible growth and water/air retention in them , and all organic bpn nutes of course, i just did a couple updates on some seed harvests you might find interesting i made some feminized seeds , dont know if you checked it out yet , i know your busy but i thought id let ya know, since its been pretty mellow in my journal lately
some other thoughts, that mainline tech its of great interest to me i have yet to find a growth control method i really like thoroughly lst is the closest, scrog is nice but to hard for me to do, kneeling and sitting on the floor is not possible for me, i've been looking for a thread or anything that does a step by step but so far ,,,nuts

Out of interest X, you say your RH was too low - what does too low represent and what's been the impact of it being too low (has it affected yield etc?).

It's been in the 30-35% RH a lot during bloom (heck and veg!).

In veg, it slowed them some and probably added to the veg time - but it also kept the nodes pretty tight.

In bloom, it's probably affecting yield some, though I believe it helped improve trichome production. There's a fair amount of anecdotal evidence supporting dry conditions and increased resin production. Yield wasn't my primary goal, either - since I just grow for myself. Yield is always nice though, especially for the ego, lol.

I would have preferred 40 - 45% in bloom, and 50-60% in veg. I could have made that happen with a bit more effort or a few $ invested, but I just didn't have the $ or the energy this round.

I'm no master of hydro, but it's much more comfortable for me than soil, for sure. I appreciate the huge vote of confidence, nonetheless.

I'll definitely check out your seed harvest! I'm following your fem seed project with much interest.

Thanks X. I was wondering because mine's a pretty steady 48-51% through veg and flower and I was wondering what sort of impact it might have. I know higher RH is better during veg but I've not actually read what the actual impact is if the RH is off (with the exception of increasing the chance of bud rot if too high in flower). That's really helpful thank you mate

Anyone looking for a top of the line pocket vape should look into the "DaVinci" model. I use mine for BHO only and the thing works amazing. Its a rechargeable battery one with interchangeable viles. I ordered extra of the "stem" viles specific for oil and they probably hold a quarter gram. Excellent for work, hunting, fishing, snowboarding, you name it.

Awesome Sqwheels, I can't wait to see you try that - it fits you perfectly in that you are so good at training your plants. It does seem to make sense, huh? Speaking of sharing, I've pointed a ton of people to your journal when they ask about a "cheap and easy" way to clone. It blows people away that it can be so simple, and even if they go another route, it teaches them something about the resiliency and will-to-live of this plant. I'm really happy to see you around by the way - sure hope you're still feeling a bit better.

I have been using Sqwheels "chuck 'em in water" method for a while now with mixed success until I found my styrofoam coffee cup from mickey d's outperformed all other containers for making roots. I don't know what it is about the cup but it works really well and I have collected more for the next gen clones. I have a recent pic in my gallery of the crazy roots I got (only in that cup out of 4) after I pulled big girl I put the haze cuttings in and they are taking off too...?

X I hope all is well with you, but the main reason
for me to mention The Main-Lining Thread here
is because of height issues a lot of growers have
and back problems.
If you can add 18''to 24'' from the
floor with a roll out table or something
that would fit in the space you have
it would help with the back pains.

Those are good numbers for your RH and should be pretty optimal most of the time in either veg or bloom.

I don't know what it is about the cup but it works really well and I have collected more for the next gen clones. I have a recent pic in my gallery of the crazy roots I got (only in that cup out of 4) after I pulled big girl I put the haze cuttings in and they are taking off too...?

Hey Buckshot - That's crazy! I'll have to drop by and see what you have going... Maybe they like caffeine and there was some residual caffeine there?! Perhaps the styrofoam is helping keep the temps in a better spot (insulation?). Interesting! Cool to know you clone like that too, successfully. WWRMD? (What would Ronald McDonald Do?)
