Outdoor Update
I've gone ahead and transplanted Fatleaf's 'stump' into a (I think) 10 to 12 gallon pot. Fed her a nice dose of Alaska Fish Emulsion and cal/mag (figured she needs as much 'push' as possible - please tell me if I should not give cal/mag in veg stage. I left her in the sun yesterday for a few hours and then I brought her in because of temps falling to the low 40's last night (and for the next few nights into the upper 30's). Big Girls 'stump' has also been fed, but I did not re-pot her yet. Since I will either be taking here in and out for the next few days, better to keep her small (my aching back). I may take her upstairs and put her in with the Runt as an experiment to see what happens with 12 hours of MH light compared to even less hours of sunlight for Fatleaf. We'll see and I'll let you all know what I do. Remember, I've never regenerated outside before and now I've been thrown the cool weather to work with!
I've got two Mazar seeds that just broke ground yesterday after starting them in a paper towel. The third seed that I potted had to be removed and returned to the wet towel for a last ditch effort to save it. It had the smallest of the tap roots (of the three) and when I 'peeked' at it this morning in the pot (dug it up) it had not grown at all and the tip of the root looked a little brown. We'll see if it will start to grow again. I hope it does, since with only three seeds I was hoping for at least one female. I'll be pretty anxious with just two unsexed seeds growing. I've also re-potted one of the bagseed to a a 6 inch square pot so that makes two that have 'moved up'. I've still got about 8 viable ones in the little 3 inch starter pots. A couple of those will be ready to move up in a few days or so.
Biggest challenge will be the regeneration of the hopefully three NL#5's. Temps have dropped here so each night I will have to bring everything inside!
I'll copy some of this to my upcoming Outdoor Journal when I get that going.
Here's some pics of the outdoor 'stuff'. Thought I had some pics of Big Girl in here new 'hacked' state, but can't seem to find them?
Fatleaf ready re-potted and ready to go.
Fatleaf's new home. I chopped the tiny bud on the right side of the stem after this photo was taken.
Fatleaf under wraps during the mid day sun. It won't bake in there because it's like 63F outside. That is her old pot on top. Notice the slight difference in size. LOL
Most mature of my bagseed (sorry for the yellow, sun is reflecting off it)
One of the Mazar - just popped up
The bagseed babies
Bagseed, just re-potted from the babies.
Alright folks I've worn myself out from all this uploading and downloading. I think I'll have to re-fuel a little! Hope you've enjoyed these last few posts. I enjoyed the heck out of the 'hacking' yesterday and today! The runt won't be to far off. She's acting just like her sisters, she's progressing very quick now and already had a few amber trichomes this morning!
Weather update:
I've brought everything inside including all 50lbs of Fatleaf's pot! Glad I didn't re-pot Big Girl! Temps will be down to 36 on Fri and 34 on Sat night! Tonight it will be about 40F. Daytime temps will only be in the 50's for a few days so I'll be keeping them inside by the back window for awhile. If you've noticed, the little bagseeds are pretty 'stretched'. I guess from not being outside enough lately. The window only gets them about 6 hours of sun.
Comments are always welcomed and encouraged!
