Welcome to 420 Raysdad and welcome to my grow! It is possible to grow with less, but you've got to do it right. I've learned through my last grow that if you want good indoor smoke, you've got to take very good care of them, watch the pH closely, use as much light as you can, and mixed spectrum lighting will help greatly in flower!

You folks were wondering where I've been all this time? ....................Well, I've been in hiding up on the roof while my wife is desperately searching the grounds. Yes, she has been hunting me with my own shotgun and the neighbors pet snow leopard since last night after she remembered that I told her I had ordered a couple of 'pH up and down' bottles!

I've been freezing my a** off hiding up here in nothing but my red poke-a-dot boxer shorts and my favorite 'Tweedy Bird' pajama top! No one has seen my gigantic 'SOS' sign yet either. I made it out of old bird poop that I scraped off the gutters. I've had to eat it also (munchies) and it doesn't taste that bad. Yes I always keep an emergency ration of primo bud up here just for this exact purpose. If I'm going to survive, I have to have the sh*t or I'd just give up and sneak back in like the dog that I am and take my chances with the evil and treacherous 'grow and now husband hating' wench! It would be a lost cause, I would never give up my God given freedom of grow and she is relentless in her pursuit to reform me of my degenerate ways!............................................. .....................Disclaimer:

I didn't think about lighting the SOS on fire! Great idea, I've also got some Kerosene up here in case I need to light a signal fire, but in all the commotion, I forgot! I'll just pour it on the SOS and then what? Should I wear safety goggles? I want to be complaint with all state and local ordinances and regulations. I am a very responsible person you know.

Quite a remarkable burst of life since my last feeding just a few days ago! Big Girl is frosting up at a tremendous rate and is catching up to Fatleaf. The Runt is now starting to bulk up and there is even some frostiness in evidence. Finally!

I love being in Bloom. Some VERY rewarding things take place the closer you get to the end. Well done Woody!

I better get over to see Superweed! Sounds like he's about a foot off the ground.

Had good round with the X last night. Just guess what it was about.

They are getting very frosty now, I wish I had a more 'modern' camera! Something that would have a higher resolution so you could zoom up close.

Super is just returned from a 80 mile forced march to see his girls in the wilderness on Northern Italy and took some pics for us! He is a happy man!

Nobodies in the house, I'm on the roof, my wife's out on the grounds with the shotgun and the Himalayan snow leopard, who by the way can sniff out good Afghan from 12 miles away. In fact if a fly landed on that same Afghan plant, she'd know it. ( I have bagweed from SD so I'm safe). So I think as long as I'm not in the house and just 'on' it, we'll pass muster!

Set the bird poo on fire. Throw it on that damn Leopard. While she is distracted jump to the nearest tree, making sure the tree is between you and her. Once down run like hell to the bushes and keep running. When you get to the nearest Gray Hound Station, panhandle enough money to get some clothes and a ticket south. You could rest up along the way, staying at places of 420 members like MountainHigh who would put you for a night and feed you. Work your way over to So. Cal. Find a freighter and make a deal to work for passage to Hawaii. I have a spare bedroom just waiting for you. If my X bugs you to much, we could move you to the shed in the back yard, we could make a few improvements on it. Then we would get your Hawaiian MMJ card and grow together. Deal?

Your girls are looking really good and those colas are so sweet, it's amazing watching your grow progress and seeing how close they are to mine in the timing of thickening up and frosting up. You are going to have a very nice crop of some killer smoke and after you get your tail ripped from the smoke you wont care who is chasing you with what, you would not even mind being trapped on a deserted island with Joy Behar but she does not get any smoke.
On your high resolution pictures, does your camera have a macro button, if it does you can take a pretty close pic and then use your photo editing software and zoom in, that should allow you to get the pic you want of your trichs so you can show off.

Alright, the girls are outside in the sun again. I can't wait to get done with this indoor grow and get started with the outdoor! I think it is a tad easier outdoors, although with all my newly squired knowledge, it may be harder than it used to be! It has not been easy with all pH and nutrient issues I have and had. Still too many yellow leaves on mine and at 5 and a half weeks, its too early. I don't think that there are more leaves turning yellow, just from before. My plan of defoliating the bottom of the plants to accommodate the 'weak' lighting for my SOG, may not have been such a bright idea? I wonder if that is causing me to have these pH and nutrient issues. Some of my leaves have signs of a Boron Deficiency and I've got some eye drops with boric acid to combat this. I had forgotten to mention this last week (too many issues to remember). Classic though, with the rust color patches on the leaves. Just a few leaves actually so I followed the instructions and treated them with the eye drops. I also have some browning of the saw tooth edges of some of the leaves? I'll be checking on that. I'm just hoping to get to harvest before I kill'em or something! Probably not all that bad, but still a little worrisome for me. Fatleaf and Big Girl are the only ones affected my these maladies, the Runt is fine, just very slow in development! I don't know whether many of these problems are due to 'under fertilizing' the plants? Believe it or not I have never used more than half strength nutes (mostly 1/4 strength) and I've actually skipped some feedings because of some flushing and pH adjusting. For instance, when I was using my old soil meter after feeding, I would have to adjust the pH with so much water and lime that I would pretty much wash out the nutes I just fed them with! Yesterday when I watered them with molasses and a tiny bit of lime. I probably washed out most of the molasses in the process of trying to raise the pH. I really need to study how it's done. So I don't waste so much time effort and nutes in the process!.

That is the chart that I got my figures from, thanks bud. Fatleaf smells like skunk (big time), Big Girl smells like tangerines and the Runt doesn't know what she wants to smell like! She was the one I believe that had the terpentine smell, but just checked her and I don't get much of a smell from her now. I may reverse my light cycle also.

Our tiny cabin is so hot in the loft with out the a/c on. Even if it's only in the seventy's outside, It was most likely in the eighty's up there and with the heat from the lights ....104! Normally when it was not hot upstairs, the tent temp was from mid 80's to mid 90's. Like I mentioned earlier, I may reverse my day and night!

Brother, I am sooooo frustrated with getting the girls all pH'd correctly. Life is not easy anymore!

'Why' you ask? Because I hurt my back setting up the supposedly easy (at least they say it is on TV) 'Total Gym'. Now that I got it set up, I need to use it everyday. So while my wife is doing the laundry (yaaa - cause I hate doing it), I'll be cooking some ribs on the grill outside ( on sale for 2.98 ) and baking for the first time in my life, a birthday cake for the wifes birthday tomorrow! It a carrot cake (her favorite). OK so what if it's in a box, I'm still more than capable of ruining it, somehow!

To the kitchen and the grill I go! Hopefully I'll be back later today.

That is just beautiful brother. I miss Spain. It was my favorite country when i took my trip to Europe. Beautiful country and the people were genuinely warm and friendly. Not a bad place to party too. If you want to learn how to party, go to Spain they will show you how it is done.

Had a super buzz going on and lasted quite awhile. I didn't go to bed for a couple of hours and I still read my book before I eventually passed out. As far as the 2008 crop goes, I have literally 'crumbs' left, that's it and it would have been gone a few months ago had some great friends not stepped in and 'remedied' the situation!

I trying to remember if I had one or two plants in that outdoor grow of '08 (short term memory loss ... ), but I did have a great haul 6 or 7oz's rings a bell. I have no one else to share it with since the wife has pretty much given it up (again)..I have learned how to stretch it out pretty good... small bowls and hold it in as long as physically possible!

Like your stranded on an island (no woman) and you have an ounce of sensamilla (no seeds) and the next boat wasn't comin for a year, no question. You'd ration that sh*t for sure. Unless your not hard core like some of us. Hell, I'd divide it 365 parts. Then I'd have to figure out what I'd find for snacks!

I can't believe how quickly they've progressed in just a week! I think it was less than a week ago that I described Big Girl as starting to develop her trichomes. Now she's got just about as much as Fatleaf. The Runt is now like Fatleaf was a couple of weeks ago.

I use the 'macro' setting on the camera. It's a Fuji digital SLR (not a fancy one), but has only 3m pixels. I have used a magnifying glass that fits almost perfectly over the lens. That helps a bit.

My girls just grew up overnight. Amazing growth on all of them in just the last few days. I checked the color of trichs on Fatleaf and I've got a mix of clear and cloudy. Her leaves are starting to turn yellow like she's eating them up. I wonder if her wilting from getting dry has speed this process up a bit?

Hi Jacob. Fatleaf is about 50/50 clear cloudy right now, so your guess is as good as mine. My last grow took forever to get to 50% amber. I imagine all strains are different. I'm at 7 weeks right now so I may start to flush soon. this is the time that I'll be watching the color of the trichomes very carefully. This morning I took my first sample off of Fatleaf. Just a tiny bud from down below. I stuck it on a piece of duct tape (by it's tiny stem) inside the tent where it should dry pretty quick I suppose with the mid 80's temps in there.

I learned that here at 420 Slow, just like you said, that's what I'm doing. I've learned quite a bit in the last week about soem of the things you've mentioned. I'm not going to need anymore lime (at least for now) as my pH has risen in general. That is most likely because of a sow build up of the lime after using it in tiny quantities for a the last couple of water/feedings. I read that excessive use could be detrimental. I should be good to go. I've got some pH up and down ordered and I will use it accordingly. Thanks for helping out my friend!
