Woodsman's Northern Light #5 Grow

I shit you not, when we transplanted to the 5 gal buckets our plants made an unbelievable turnaround and just looked perkier overnight. Not saying that you need to do that, but in our case it helped tremendously.

That's and option as I have the pot from my previous grow (it's larger than the ones I'm using now (probably a 5 gal). I just figure I'd be OK with the smaller ones. Room was an is an issue. I could though do one plant. Thanks bro!:bravo: I may do that.

Thanks Mountain, If I don't figure it out I will contact Grow support. Ceck out the photo in the link I gave above and look at the Pic for Calcium Def.. I wonder if my feeding today and with the addition of the hydrated lime would help out? Like you said, with the good pH now perhaps The plants will be on the mend. Well see.

Yeah, but Calcium is a Macro Nutrient and immobile and shows up top first I believe, and Mg is a Micro Nutrient and mobile and shows on bottom (plant eating itself for nutrients to feed the new tops I believe is what mobile means). Those brown spots are exactly what I had with my low ph, when Tess got that hot spot and it was/is a hot spot (I am pretty sure), my run off is good but drifts worse than AB every watering and she gets a few more freckles here and there but is healthy, so I figure she has isolated root damage from burning. She is making the tastier buds by far and smells absolutely delicious, she is like a fruit basket, but has freckles....she is cute. :ganjamon:

Anyway that is my understanding of those deficiencies so far. I am probably wrong and HOPE someone corrects me, because I just wanna learn as much as I can.

:peace:

So you think that with my more neutral pH May have solve the problem? I had been feeding very lightly (1/4 to 1/2 strength so far and wasn't going to raise it until the buddage starts. Also the hydrated lime has Mg correct?

Yours did, I seen it on the package. Yeah I do not think you have either deficiency for real, I assume it is ph. You might see a time of stunted growth and drinking if your roots didn't like being jacked around from acid to neutral so fast, but maybe not, Tess didn't complain when I pulled her up by 1 ph the first adjustment. She did slow down on drinking though and is still behind AB who is in WHOLE HOG mode under the HPS. Lilbit got demoted to the CFL's voluntarily (she slowed swelling and drinking water, and I figured a cooler light might simulate fall....who knows:bong:).

:peace: my friend.

Update Flower Day 13

Just a condition report as we are out for most of the day.

All three Plants, thanks to suggestions and help from all of you, are doing very well today. haven't seen them so perky for a long time! Had to raise the lights because of the extra 1 or 2 inch growth spurt or it could just be that everything has 'stood up' (like at attention!) since the return of a good pH.

Out for most of the day with the wife at my Brothers down in Chicago. See you back this evening. Thanks again for all your help.

That is great Woods!!! :thumb: I am happy for you. That is one stress off your back! :ganjamon:

yo wood! just checkin in! i see your leaf issues in the last page and i have had the same thing before. i use cal-mag and it cleared right up. its an iron or calcium deficiency. those two are usually the first to be lacking in a garden. make it part of your reg feeding schedule.

Thanks to you and others who gave me terrific advise and support!:bravo:

Hi WOOD, so these girls??
:peace:

I'm am the proud Papa to three nice girls. I will be keeping them locked up for about two months. They are not allowed to play with MountainsHigh's girls, even if those three have sworn off their evil and immoral ways!

Hello HK always nice to have ya in! That's a fine new grow ya got going!

I've given them all a dose of hydrated lime to raise their pH (It had been very low for a week). Hopefully they are on the road to recovery with the neutral pH and the shot of cal mag from the lime. They look terrific right now and I will be posting pics as soon as they upload!

Update - Flower Day 14 Photos

Plants are looking great after the addition of the hydrated lime and their nutes. The pH is now in the upper 6's for all plants after suffering through an overly acidic week!

Group Photo -from left - Fatleaf, Big Girl and #4 (all names will change - maybe). I will be elevating the two shorter plants on the left and right, forming a more even canopy.

Plants are looking great bro!!!!:bravo: Great recovery! Tell your wife we are sorry, but your babies needed it. :ganjamon:

I am very happy for you Woods. :yahoo:

:peace: brother.

Thanks for the kind words MH. I showed my wife your post and explained to her how helpful you and the rest of the community have been to me. I even showed her the before and after comparison photos of Big Girl to cement the 'deal'. I then went on to explain all the calamities that can befall not just MJ, but all plants (she likes gardening). I told her that things like the hydrated lime and the different fertilizers can be used in her garden as well and will give her much better results.

I discussed the 'agony' I feel when things go wrong with the grow. I mentioned that besides diseases, bugs can also ruin the grow. ....This is perfect. Read on!

I said it would be wonderful if I could grow in the back yard (instead of the porch, though I really prefer the porch), but growing in the yard has never worked good because of the many bugs that inhabit (infest) our surrounding woods and shrub brush. Now she took the bait and she said "aren't you going to grow on the back porch like you have been doing lately?" I almost pissed in my pants and wanted to answer "well, if you insist honey!" LOL. So for the first time ever, I've been given 'permission' to grow on the porch. I always grow there anyway, but I always have the same arguments about it every year and that's a lot of aggravation! lol. Ya, the wife gives me grief for outdoor grows also! Outside it's not the '$$$' it's the paranoia of someone seeing it and calling the PD. So this time she's actually suggesting I grow on the porch! Who would have thunk it! :yahoo:....LOL

Mountain, I give you credit for being the catalyst. You inadvertently gave me the chance to have the discussion in the first place!

Wood...looking great man. I am glad to hear that your babies are getting better since you added the lime. Ours too. Sad news though, we just gave the axe to our third plant, Matilda. She chose her fate when she threw those balls out. Damn!

Well hope if you do get nicked for growing on the porch which inevitably must carry a lot more risk that you do not blame the missus! lol
