Update

Fertilized today with fish emulsion and Cal/Mag. This is the first time for most of the plants and most likely the last veg nutes for them. As far as bloom nutes go, I won't be as stingy! I've got Tiger Bloom, Cal/Mag, and molasses and will alternate like an indoor grow with water/molasses then next time the bloom ferts. I don't have any of the fancy additives that many of you use. Way to expensive for me. I needed one more bag of Happy Frog, but I couldn't even pull that off! That's another reason that having a few males would not be so bad. I'll use the soil from the males in order to fill up some larger pots for some of the females. In the end, I should only be using 5 and 10 gal pots. I have always used at least 10 gal pots in the past, but I've got too many plants this grow and can't afford the Happy Frog. It would be like 15 dollars of dirt per 10 gal pot!

round of applause for you woodsman they look mighty fine sir...keep up the good work my friend!!

Thanks for dropping in langa. I'll take a bow for ya! :adore:.

:smokin2:
It is so hot and humid today (very often lately) and I was just out there 'rearranging' the plants again, you know moving them from here to there and then back again and so forth trying to find that perfect spot (for each one individually mind you). In the end or by the time I'm three quarters baked from the sun and heat out there, I look back at my latest creation and wonder if I should've left them alone!

I've got the railing along the back of the deck (west side) that blocks some of the sun later in the day, say about 5-7 o'clock. It casts a horizontal line of shade, initially on the plants that sit right next to the railing, then moves towards the house as the sun sets. No big deal, but the ones that sit right below the railing are cheated out of a half hour of direct light a day. That's one of my excuses for being out there. OK! So I just want to be with my new creations! It's a good excuse though and viable in case I get subjected to questioning later on by the wife. She'll come to the back door and stick her head out and say something like, "what are you doing out there?" When I did the indoor grows, my darling and wonderful wife would ask me, "what are you doing up there?" when I would be with the plants for like more than a couple minutes. Well sometimes 3 minutes would turn into an hour. But I'm like a magnet when i go to be with the plants. I normally get about 15 minutes before the dear wife asks 'the question'. So I'm nice and I would say something like, "I'm relaxing with my plants, would you like to join me?" LOL! Ya right! Well I'll tell you what, my wife has been pretty cool about the grow so far. No 'permissions' and "last times" and such. Just gives me the third degree when she feels I'm having too much fun with my favorite hobby, but no flak about the plants themselves. That's a very nice development. I won't let the old guard down for a moment though! Ya never know when the hammer will come down.....:rasta:.

Hello lavendar thanks for your kind words. I don't think I'll have that luck (all females), but then again, I don't know if I want to have all of them as females! Does that sound 'odd'? I mean I do, but I don't! Too many plants! As it is, I will have to move some down to the yard (bug infested area) and only keep so many up on the deck (bugs aren't as bad). I guess I'd be alright with all females, but it would be like throwing them to the sharks. Hoping that the neem oil will keep them alive long enough to reach harvest with some foliage left on the stem! Compared to previous years, this season the bug situation is bad. We've had so much rain, like 3 out of 4 days it rains. The insects are having a great time I presume. If it stays like this into flower, I'll have to get the fan out in between rains, just to keep the rot from setting in.

Sure, if grown right, they should be better than the original. Also fresher, who knows how old the original 'bags' were? Most likely not cured right if at all. These two bagseeds that I had/have were not 'bricked' but they were also not primo looking either. They were mostly light green in color and not squished, but they were very dry, you know commercial sh*t from the street. They do get me high, that's for sure. I would think that they will taste better, and be even stronger than the original. Since it's from San Diego, I would imagine that it came across the border.

Being that it is probably a 'commercially grown' bagseed, I would think that it is just an outdoor grow by some folks south of the border. They just let it go to seed. Not like it was one of our grows that went hermie. As you all know, some of the bagseed can be really good stuff when grown the right way. What I have here seems mostly indica dominant. One or two of them may be closer to a 50/50 split. Each plant seems a little different. I've tried comparing the SD1's from the SD2's, but there is no set pattern for either. Who knows how many different genetics are mixed up in them. I hope to enjoy all of those differences though!

Ha ha! Ya, I'll find somewhere to stash it all! LOL not a problem. I'll have the larger jars with the 'long term cures' and then I'll have some small containers for my 'smoking stash'. Maybe I'll ask my wife if I could have a shelf of my own in the pantry. Nah, better not! I could stash my stash under my lounge chair! Then I wouldn't have to move anything but my arm!

Welcome to the thread BOOTumALL (boot is easier) I don't see a link for your grow? Too bad, there are not too many 'in the ground' grows here. Sounds like your on your way buddy with your grow. Are you having any insect problems? If you do, what are you using?

:nomo: No problem with bugs. I did see a couple of leaves that have had a little parasitic activity but with the mass of green I'm not doing anything about it. My grow is rather urban. No weeds or brush, wetlands etc. for the bugs to breed. In addition I turn the soil over in my garden at least once a day sometimes as many as three times a day. I can't help it,..I'm in love!

I have used HST and LST on the grow and I'm amazed at the number of branches that think they are the top. I used the process outlined here when I did searches for HST and LST. This site has been a real encouragement to take a step out of the norm. Thanks for the welcome and good luck to you.

This HST is it not supposed to be extremely stressful to the plant? Are you 'rooting' the top in the ground? I just looked it up as I had no idea what the heck it was!

No I am not rooting the top. Just using stakes to guide the plant along the ground with the LST and gently pinching and bending (HST) the branch tops when they get taller than I want.

I've got an indoor plant (in soil) I topped and used HST on. Its got so many buds! It won't be ready until around the end of July but at this stage it looks as though Its gonna have a great yield

I see. what your doing is like 'supercropping'. I like the idea of using stakes to 'snake' the stem horizontally across the ground. Very interesting. Good job.

looking great buddy! cant beat the power of the sun!

Hey buddy, nice to see ya out and about! You must be enjoying some of your last crop by now. Just sit back and watch everyone else do the work!

hi woods. Yes, supercropping or any other training that stresses the plant is 'High Stress Training' so is pinching, topping and FIM'ing.

I'm glad the missus is letting up a little on you. She might just be uilding for a larger eruption though. lol I heard that sometimes those volcanoes will do the same thing. lol j/k. It is good that you are getting pestered less though, I know how that is. I'll say something like "I'll be quick about it!" and it turns into an hour or more. Just catch myself zoning on the branches and leaves and everything. lol Lately I've made it a point to go in and thuroughly inspect all of the little seedpods I've created. I dont know why I still expect them to me noticeably bigger and fuller each day, but I do. lol and just get going in train of thought. I guess thats to be expected with a gardener. lol I've been doing that for a long time now, even before I met the missus, and so she knew about it when she said yes. lol just has to be reminded sometimes.

I like your armchair Idea about the stash. Pure MAN thought. I want one with a fridge in it too, and speakers, and maybe even a toilet. Never move! Hell, most grocery stores even deliver now a days. Damn, I'd still have to get up to cook.

later man!

Hi Woodsman:)

Your journal is in full swing now Buddy:cheertwo::cheertwo:

Everything sounds positive, even the wife, trying to speak low so she doesn't hear.:)

I think it's a growers thing, I just wander around mine all the time. Seems like I could do it all day. Seems it's love at first sight with each of them. They are some of the most beautiful plants in the world to me. I just looked at mine vegging in they're cabinets. With all the strains we have going, I love to compare them. :)

Went to the hydro store today....they were out of what I wanted....so I bought Happy Frog soil for the first time. No FFOF, dang it! I stood there for quite a while and thought things over and remembered you grow with Happy Frog. So brought some home. Hope it's allot like FFOF, I'm used to it and know when to do want! Hope the AirPots like it. Anything I should know about it? :peace:

Holy Moly they are getting big fast! Looking lovely! wow 10 gallon pots, awsome! But whats even better is that the wife isn't going all out on you this go round! heh Maybe shes coming around? heh Maybe not but at least not makin ya feel bad about it or anything, thats a good thing.

Keep growin GooD!

P.S. Do you know what happened to FPF? anyone know? It was a quick bye, I hope he's ok.

If you're looking for FPF check out his thread The Beast Frying Pan Flyer gets serious

No! My friend, he just closed up shop without a word. He did say he would try to be back by July 1st. No explanation! Hope he is OK! :)

Hello my friend! I put a hole in the calendar because I penciled it in so hard! I'll prepare a 'buffet' of meds for you to 'sample'!

you made me laugh so hard I coughed the pipe right out of my mouth,
luckily I'm a juggler and the pipe was saved from certain doom with a move so quick I didnt even notice.

High Stress Training - Another 'Woodsman' moment!

I really envy you guys (and gals) that can grow 'with' the support of your spouse or significant other. She's always been paranoid about me growing and I can understand that to a point. I wouldn't grow it where it was unless it was 'secure'. It's been worse though since she stopped 'joining me' in tasting. Kind of like an ex cig smoker. Like I said earlier and I don't want to jinx it, she's been OK lately. We'll see.

About the 'man chair'. sounds good, but I'd gain too much weight on that thing! Maybe no fridge, that way I'd get plenty of exercise just from going to the fridge every 10 minutes (slow day).

Hello Mr. Old Med Man, I guess all of us enjoy watching our plants grow, even those with tiny 'cabinet' grows or tent grows. I used to sit in front of the tent on my wifes foot stool and stare at my creations. No different now, it's just much easier and more fresh air involved!

I think the Happy Frog is just as good, though I can't remember what it was that FFOF has that HF doesn't. I used both of them in my last grow. HF is a tad less expensive, though you can buy a whole lot of cheap dirt for the same price. You'll be 'happy' with it, I'm sure. Add some more perlite.

Hello Hydroe, nice to see ya! I don't think she's 'comin around', It's more like she's worn herself out from the last two indoor grows I've done and she's givin up (for now)LOL

I'd have them all in ten gallon pots, but I ran out of the Happy Frog and I don't have the 'means' right now to buy another bag or two of it. I've already spent quite a bit on what I have! You can see the difference in the plant sizes with the smaller plants all in the smaller pots. As I develop more males (I'm sure I'll get at least a couple more), I'll reuse the Happy Frog from their pots to make larger pots for the females. I'll have them all in either 5 or 10 gal pots by the time the 'sexing' is all figured out.

No! My friend, he just closed up shop without a word. He did say he would try to be back by July 1st. No explanation! Hope he is OK! :)

Hope all is well with Frying Pan!

Great reflex my friend. Dropped pipe means scattered weed all over the floor or the carpet. Then ya gotta get the flashlight out so you don't miss any! Make sure you pull all the hairs and dust out before taking another hit.

Made this hickory wood pipe yesterday. Christened it with some 'Big Girl' NL#5 and it works great! So now I can smoke the weed I grow in a pipe I made! Awesome. I don't have a 'work area' or a bench so it was literally made 'by hand'.

Ready to light it up for the first time
