Hello all my fellow growers, lurkers, loiterers, and other creatures that inhabit this place! I am finished at my brother's (till something else comes up) and will be lurking around the neighborhood again! My absence this time was not due to any internal :rasta: brain damage as some times will occur from time to time with me, but was due to my 'volunteering' to help my brother with some light construction. Of course 'light' is meant for those of you that actually do it for a living, I don't! For me it was exhausting! It is an hour and a half driving each way and then about 8 to 10 hours of 'volunteering' (hot and humid here) and then the long drive home. I am way out of shape so that's what made it difficult for me. I've done manual 'volunteering' all my life in different forms, but this 'volunteering' was like starting cold turkey!

Folks don't fall down and faint, but yesterday my wife watered the plants for me! Yep I know it's unbelievable and I'm sure the 'good feelings' will be shot lived, but I was so thankful to her. I left in the early AM yesterday had no time to do it myself. I left a note just saying that if she had a few moments to spare, could she perhaps out of the goodness in here heart, please water my plants? Amazingly she did! They look terrific today and I think are even having 'bud sites' just starting to form, finally! The Bubba Kush has just about tripled in size since the last pics were taken. My G-13 X Nepal that I planted in the 16 oz cup has not emerged yet.

So things are back to normal (if there is such a thing for me).

You still alive? :thumb:

How did you get out of that ICBM? Where's Sisco?:rasta:

We got on the wrong ICBM! I know, I know! Hard to imagine that it could happen with such brain power like mine and Sisco's at work. Not sure were we fell off the darn thing, glad we had parachutes so break the fall. They didn't open, but we landed on the parachute packs so it was alright. No damage to the parachutes! Whew!

Looking for alternate means of transportation right now. Anyone have experience with 'personal hovercrafts' or the rocket backpacks for the 60's? They are selling them for cheap on the internet. Some guy from Nigeria (sixteenth son of a former King - exiled to Lower Swabobia) sent me an email that he is selling them. Just needed all my 'particulars' like SS# bank routing info and account no, address and you know all those unimportant things. Then he'll send a brochure. Still waiting, but not worried as he warned me that it could take a few months to get to me from his 'new kingdom' in Timbuktu :rasta:. Told me that with my small investment, I would be considered his partner. I had to pay for that privilege though by signing over the house as collateral. I gave him Sisco's info also and was wondering if any of you all would like to becomes partners also. He is such a generous guy!

So in no time at all, I'll be hovering above your island looking for ya! I'll radio ahead to the military that we're not carrying any dangerous cargo other than the methane producing cattle.

Don't ya love short answers for short questions?

I am tired L, but recovering!
Great reading your stuff Lav, I can't wait to try the Bubba K! L the BK is doing very well indeed and may just surprise us all! I'll try to do pics soon and you'll be amazed at the difference from the last pics!

:peacetwo:

Howdy Mountain, happy you dropped in! We'd just have to move some things around out there and we could probably fit in a couple of 'small' chairs for us to sit and gaze 'up' at the ladies!

:passitleft: A few bowls of mine and a few bowls of yours and we'd be able to see the monkeys swinging from branch to branch up there!
Don't be alarmed though, cause before we get comfortable out there, I have to blast the air-horn (you know like the ones at football games that can wake the dead). That way the Himalayan Snow Leopard that my wife keeps around the house to guard our kitty won't be startled and will eventually go back to sleep. Funny how Brunhilda (don't know how a Himalayan Snow Leopard got such a Nordic - or is it Germanic - name), needs to floss her fangs lately, but as I was saying (rambling), funny how the Pit Bull population around this part of the state has declined since the cat has lived here.

Coyotes have also been quite lately.

I'm alive and exhausted my friend, but slowly returning to norm.... my usual form!

Ha!! Glad to see the wife is helping with the gardening duties. My plants look like they're finally wanting to bloom also. They're getting closer and closer to getting burned in a fat bowl. Poor girls.

Hello Bud, yup it was a pretty nice gesture on her part, considering how she feels about the grow. Hey, I'll head over and check yours out!

Hi Woodsman Well, we all make mistakes, anyone could of been confused by so many ICBMs in one place and the fact that they don't light them up until blast off. I'm still confused about bringing cattle over here. We do have cattle ranches here and they are feed the best trimmings from the growers best plants.
When you eat a BBQ here, it's guaranteed to BBQ your mind too! :lot-o-toke:

I am so glad you made contact with the Nigerian guy. He sounds really trustworthy. The way he took all your information, that means he really cares about you. Your rocket pack should arrive any day now!

The wife watering your plants for you is a real eye opener! The say absence makes the heart grow fonder, you know. Actually it may have been the big Hickory stick you were waving at her when you asked her to water them.:surf:

Uncertainty Alert!

I've noticed on a couple of my bagseed plants some purpling of new leaf growth at the just starting to develop bud sites. I will get some pics out later today. This is occurring on the leaves as they are still not even fully opened yet and on the ones that have just opened, the purple is on the outside edges, only on the upper side and seems to stop before reaching the center vein. I looked at a sample under my Radio Shack micro and saw that it is in the pigmentation of the leaf and otherwise looks normal. This bagweed was not purple when it was smoked. It is also a hybrid (indica/sativa cross). We've had very warm temps here (outdoor plants), but a few nights ago the lows went to the low 60's which was about 10 degrees cooler than our recent average of about 70 at night. I know that low 60's is not cold for most outdoor plants, but it was cooler than it had been used to.

Like I said above, I'll post some pics later today.

Stem Borer Alert

Found three of them on one of the bagseed ladies today also! Bastards struck when I wasn't paying attention. Got me lulled into feeling secure I guess. I will wait till the mosquitoes come out later in today when it cools down to check on the others (why would I want to deprive the little ((^#*() of my blood?

Maybe your right and the two heifers are not necessary. Why I didn't think of that, I don't know! :rasta: We could carry our stash in backpacks instead. We won't need all those bags of feed then would we?

I don't think the wife missed me. She had a great time she said without me! Like a vacation for her in fact! Said she was gardening and keeping busy the whole time. We are so used to be together lately that I could believe it. Heck if I wasn't 'volunteering' my a** off I would have enjoyed the time away also!

Photo Update (part 1)

Here are the pics showing the purple pigmentation on what will be the main cola on one of my bagweeds and also from the NL#5

Any ideas what this is? I know that some NL's can get purple, but not yet, right?

From what I've been able to find on the internet, it could be phosphorous deficiency or a result of a couple nights last week were the temps dropped to the low 60's. That temp is not drastically low, but it has been closer to 70 at night for the norm lately. Any other suggestions?

It's a jungle out there!

It_s_a_jungle_out_there_.JPG

Not the greatest pics of the ladies primarily due to the Sun being in front of me at this time of day. Best pics are from the AM hours.

Thanks folks for taking a look!

If you've got any ideas, suggestions or first hand knowledge concerning my purple 'new growth', please let me know!

Really couldn't tell you. It could be from the low temps, but I'd probably treat it as a phosphorous def if it was me. Well, actually if it was me I probably wouldn't do anything and wait to see what happened. If it gets worse, then it's time for action.

Hello Bud, thanks for taking a look at the problem (or maybe no problem). They will be fed in the next day or two their first full dose of Tiger Bloom so they'll get some phosphorous. I just can't see why they would have a deficiency since I've given them all small doses of the TB in the past. It could a pH related issue. My wife watered the other day and no pH was not checked. It also rained last night very hard so I'm sure they got a flush job of rain water. Normally in the low 6's for the rain and the spring water is just over 7. I'll check the pH when I feed them tomorrow or the next day.

woods,
i agree, i would watch it, i personally think it might be temp. related...but only as i have that going on.....been hot here, day and night in our little valley, then the nights (earlly morning) are cold, like high desert weather....so my blues are turning blue, didnt expect that as i thought hot was hot and cold cold, but i guess they are relative to the plant..or so it seems in my little garden....hey, theres no rules....these girls seem to just do as they want....that bk is looking good...heck, all those plants look great...im just envious, outside looks like fun, except for the bugs....i would have to buy stock in azamax company.....glad you're back, and sorry youre tired, but its gotta be good for you, or at least thats the b.s. they tell me, so figured i could pass that tidbit on....lol....sorry im not more help... hope u dont mind bud but since we are talkin purple this stuff has purple almost black trim leaf is some kind of haze an the like bud is some kind of sour its what benn keeping me sane for the few past days hope u can zoom in an give it a once over:peacetwo:

left sour rite haze wierd cuz the smell almost the same but sour us more amber an pack more of a punch so been letting it sit see if it helps

Looking great my friend! You should apply for a re-forestation grant to help offset your expenses!

If you want to take advice from me, and I have no idea why you would, I wouldn't change anything unless the plants start looking sick or stressed. Lots of my new growth looked almost black at first and then turned a nice healthy green.

Hi Woodsman :surf:

Sorry friend never saw that before! :smokin2:

Dig that bug outta there! :smokin2:

That last picture of them all looks great! :thumb:

Thanks buddy, I'm still searching and inspecting. It is not as easy as it was before though as the ladies are four times as large!

Well I'm pretty much recovered from the work now, and the purple is turning green now so I don't know what it was from, just glad it's not a serious matter!

Gave them all a full dose of tiger bloom today. Only the Bubba Kush got some Big Bloom along with a touch of tiger bloom. Not sure how to fert her from her on out. Perhaps someone that has experience with a 12/12 grow will let me know what or how exactly to feed her. She only has 2 and a half months to finish. Should be enough unless she is a late finisher.

double post

The purple seems to be diminishing and is turning green like you said!

Hey Woodsman!

Those plants are freakin gorgeous!! It sure looks like a forest is growing on your balcony! :nicethread:

I don't think that bit of purple leaf is a sign of anything bad. I have seen it happen once or twice on new growth...They start purple and then fade to green as the leaf grows bigger.

Take care my friend :)
