Winter Outdoor Grow 2009/2010

lookin' real nice can't wait to see how this goes:goodjob:

Me to blackbeast, thanks so much for taking a look and your comments.

Hi sonzor truthfully they all look good. Full moon 1 & 2, look like they are going to be outrageous. :surf:

I'm going be doing my next grow allot like yours. Compost tea, topping, the whole works. Will LST them a bit to make em even more bushy.

Good luck with the clones. Allot of people really have a terrible time with clones. OldSkoool as had really good luck with his. I might give his method try it someday.

I think your on your way to a great grow. :cheertwo:

Thanks so much for the comments and good luck with your next grow. Yes the damn clone thing really throws me for a loop, I have tried so many different things. The cloner works really well and I have had 100% success with that but once you take them out of that I try to put them in dirt its a crap shoot. Any thanks so much for stopping in and your comments are always appreciated.

sonzor after them bugs left these plants took off
they are looking good
some of them might be ready for a new pot

but nice dude very nice

Thanks Blacken. They probably do need to be put into bigger pots but there next home will be in the ground. They might get a little root bound in the mean time but it is what it is. I just don't have the room. Thanks for stopping in and you comments.

Sonzor, I just can't give you anymore praise or I think the rest of the crew will think I have a thing for you or something....Lol
looking good!

Understood siscokid would not want that. But I do appreciate all your comments and stopping in.

hi mate sorry i aint posted my isp cut me off for now reason so i switched companys....great to be back ha ha........all looks well over here mate.as always you have everything in hand.............be lucky weedtastic :goodjob:

Thanks so much weedtastic, I am doing my best with the help of all of you guys of course. Next stop will be in the ground so that will be the true test of this grow. Will have to wait a week or two we have some cold rainy next few days and don't want to throw these plants directly into the cold nights when its this cold and rainy. Thanks again for stopping in and you comments are always appreciated..

Hi sonzor, great update. Your teas are doing wonderful things for those plants, they all look like they're coming along beautifully. I hope you can stay ahead of them with tea production. lots of new growth every update, they are starting to show the love.
:goodjob:

Thanks Mmmick, The teas won't be much of a problem once they get in the ground cause I won't have the issue of the soil drying out as fast. I could try watering with teas every third watering but at this point things are growing and would hate to mess it up. Thanks so much for taking the time to take a look and your comments...

lookin good, those big stems say happy roots and big buds

Thanks Flurple. Stems are strong and healthy and cross you fingers they stay that way. Thanks for your comments and stopping in...

Has it not frozen yet where u live? Does it ever?

Hey bro ur babies are growing very nice. great job!!

Thanks MI your stopping in and your comments are much appreciated.

Plants are looking great sonzor!

What kind of daytime and night temps are you dealing with?

Are you leaving them outside at night?

Hay, SS.

Thanks they are doing very nice at this point. We usually are in at least the 70s in the day and low 60's at night. We are getting some cooler temps and rain at this point so the plants have been kept inside for the last couple of days. I expect once they do go outside for the remainder of there grow they will probably have to deal with temps at the lowest mid to low 40s at night and in the day I would think the lowest would be mid to high 50's, that is the worst case. We have had a couple nights that went below 30 in past years but that is really rare. I do have some very young clones that I put in the ground just to see how they would do and the are still alive and kicking so I think the more established plants will do fine. We shale see... Thanks so much for stopping in and you comments.

No, freezing is very rare and if we do get temps below 30 it is in the evening and its for a couple hours and warms up pretty quick once the sun comes out. But like I said that is very rare I would say a normal very cold night for us is in the upper 40s lower 50's. and day in the mid 60s lower 70s We get sun I would say at least 300 days out of the year. Thats not to say it does not get chilly. This is just a test to see how they will do. Hopefully we have a pretty mild winter and things work out just fine. We will see. Thanks for stopping in and you comments...

That's crazy man...you may be the only luckynperson I know who can grow outdoor year round... That's a great advantage

Hi sonzor
Here's hoping Mother Nature gives you a break this year and it's a mild winter.
Like you said at the beginning, it is a test run. Still it is allot of work. Protect your little clones, once in the ground they may surprise us all.
May the mj gods be with you.:cheertwo:

You're putting in a lot of love for "just a test run", I like it! I'm also dreaming about your temps, but more for me than for my babies. Two days ago the "real feel" temperature outside here was a degree. That's right, one degree. F.

I still love New York though...and I love that no matter how bundled up some of these New York girls dress, you can still get quite an eyeful!

Sonzor, dayum bro, being able to grow year round outdoors. Have no choise but to grow indoors here. Summer is short but very warm. I would love to try a greenhouse grow here. Keep em green bro.

hi mate...im trying to figure out your clone regime ?...they take in the cloner then when taken out they die.....or are extremley weak ?...is that right ?....i use jhon innes seedling compost for the first few weeks...they seem to thrive on it....how old are the clones your putting outside ?...from the day you took them outta your cloner ?......when you have new clones do you bring your humidity up in the veg room ?...i switch my flower lights off at 9pm i also switch my exhaust off in my veg room the same time....by the morning i have condensation in my veg room......and find this to bring the vegged plants on real good......let me now your thoughts mate...........be lucky weedtastic

looks good looks good....cant wait for this outdoor season..

Thanks so much omenman. I can not wait either. Lets just hope we have a mild winter so these plants survive. Thanks for stopping in...

Plants seem to be doing well. But a long way to go. And hopefully a mild winter. Thanks for stopping in..

Not sure I could deal with the 1 degree, but I guess you get used to it if you live in it. Thanks for stopping in..

Well not totally sure I can grow year around outside, but we will find out soon enough. Thanks so much for stopping in and the comments.

Did not really have a regime until now. I did use a cloner and that produced good results. Its the putting them in soil that proved to be a issue. I have now started to put the clones into peat moss and in a humidity dome and I have had 100% success rate so far, knock on wood.. Thanks for the advise and stopping in...

very nice! i like the Durban! id really like to try some outdoor growing someday, but first... move out of an apartment!

Thank HealingKronic, I am looking forward to the Durban Poison also. These are the last two seeds so hope they work out. Good luck with the someday outdoor grow and thanks for stopping in..

Plant update 12-13-09

Took the pictures on the 13th just now found some time to do an update. Plants are looking very good. Did some final bending and they spent there first full night outside. It did get a little cold, around mid 40s and they did show a little signs of some stress. I think they will do much better in the ground cause the pots do not do a very good job of keeping the roots warm.

After the picture where taken the plants where moved out of the pots and into the ground. the holes where filled 3 quarters of the way with a flowering soil mix and the rest with the existing soil and on top a layer of bat guano and topped off with 3+ inches of compost to keep it all warm. This is the first time I have tried this out so we will see how it all turns out..

On a side note A week or so ago I took a couple of my clones that where about 3 inches tall and put them out in my garden, just to see how they would handle the colder weather. They are doing very well and growing a little slow but still look nice and healthy. So I think that is a good sign for the more established plants. We will see.

Anyway take a look and I will post some picture of the plants in the ground a little later in the week.

Thats all for now. Next update in a couple of days to see how the plants have handled a week in the cool evenings. Last few night have been in the mid to high 40s

Thanks for taking a look and all comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Sonzor, plants look good so far. Maybe a clear plastic "tent" like structure over them at night would work? Just a thought.

That is a great idea. But I want to see how these plants will do during the winter. Good or bad I am going to let them go to see how they work out. I put all the food I think they will need to finish in the soil and they will only get some compost / worm casting teas once every other weak from now on, very minimal hand on with these plants form here on out. Just going to let them go and see how they grow. Worse case they don't do very well and I will have some sexed clones to work with for a inside grow and have all my clones ready for summer.

Thanks for your comments and stopping in, it is much appreciated...

A little information I forgot in the update. The smaller plants, (Durban Poison 1 and 2, Lemon bubble haze and the two Mystery) are not in the ground. I wanted to wait for them to get much bigger before they go outside. The Lemon Bubble Haze is the one I am really interested in. It is about 3 to 4 inches high and it stinks up my whole grow room. It is really amazing how much this little plants smells. Not sure what is going to happen when its three feet tall but if this little plant turns out to be a lady, all is looking very promising. The two small Mystery plants are OK, I think I might pull the small one, it is showing some signs of growth but after a month and it being only an inch tall it might makes sense just chalking it up for a loss and moving on. The Durban Poison are getting more light at night since I had more room and was able to lower the lights and they have really started to take off. Clones of all the plants where put into peat moss and dipped in rooting get approx. a week ago and are going strong. So if the outside plants don't make it there offspring will live on. Thanks again for taking a look.

Great update sonzor, looking good. It's interesting to watch your girls as temps drop, to see how it affects them.

Great job.

+reps now that I can.
