Wild Strain From The Midwest

F1 and f3 are cooperative but that f2 might need another scrog layer she is stretchy
It's weird though, the stretch happened after the 4th node, then I stunted upward growth. I wonder if node spacing isn't normally big and she was supposed to be 15' tall lol

Alright, so I did some defoliating on all three today. All below the grid F2s trim was more personalized due to her unique nature.

So I was on a thread and someone mentioned to this new grower that 'fan leaves are like solar panels for the plant'. I really loved the analogy and kept that in mind during this process!

I've noticed when people defoliate the lower half of a scrog, they remove all foliage. Fans, new growth, the whole nine. That kinda was my original plan (my plant was out of control last year so I wanted something more manageable) but then I thought about it......just because I didn't want new tops below, does that mean I have to remove the 'solar panels' too?

Here's my thought process;
Remove new forming tops, leave the fan leaf and hopefully rather than regrow from node, it will transfer its power upward.

I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but it is fairly tedious so I can't imagine anyone growing more than personals having the time lol

It took me a good bit of time to finish all three of the plants, but I am happy with the out come!!!

F2 got a more personalized trim, only the new growth towards the top of the lower branches stayed, grid won't play a part in this ladies life

I like your thinking on the nodes below and leaving the fans they are kinda sparse but very unique I lucked out yesterday and saw this little gem from a seed from the seventies

look at those tiny sativa leaves

Did you say Wild? So sorta "Ditch Weed". Looks really sparse.
No need to LST.. Cool actually.! ...
Haha exactly 'ditch weed'.
In all of the reading I've done, people find a seedy nug, smoke it, and say its shitty ditch weed. I'm growing it out at optimal conditions to see what it's about!
I don't think there is much ruderalis in it, as it's taking so long to show pistils. And the mother looked like a legit sativa that just got knocked up.

Had I not bent and top/fimmed them, they would be nearly 5' tall already. My greenhouse is only 7' tall lol

I took a lot of secondary heads off and it opened them up a lot.

Oh man! I love that old school sativa look!!!

I'm figuring these genes should be decent, as nature has culled out bad genes lol

I'm interested to see, I think thc will be meh, but the others might be higher. CBD and all the like

Got my auto flower started too! Germinating at least lol

Those are some motivated women right there! I am not prepared!!!
Lol
Gotta take a trip to the grow store tomorrow!! gonna get a 3 and 5 gallon smart pot (going to find out which I like better for the autos), FFOF, and some more FF big bloom.
I'm as giddy as kid in a candy store!!

I will have a journal for those ladies Ina couple few days. The fam is going camping so maybe Sunday night, we'll see how motivated I am.

Go 5 gal, top 3rd node, 20/4 lights. Old RTK advice, worked well for my autos.

Cheers

I have to know lol. Did the original plants end up being hemp? The leaf style and the fact that you got it in the Midwest from a wild plant point to the fact that is probably a hemp plant.
