Oh man! If it weren't for being bent, topped, fimmed, and most recently super cropped, they for sure would have been.That's exciting that they are stinky. When I first saw those in the start of the journal, I thought, those things are going to be fifteen feet high.
Hey NorCal,Sorry there Mister Waffle,, I never learnt to read,, but I did see the name of the thread,,, and went to the first post or two. But looking at the last set of pics and the title,, can I ask where ya found this plant? Sorry I ask if you've explained,,, but I'm alittle dense.. Have to be careful of anything you 'find' in the Midwest. Least afew areas I've been. Weed grew wild. Well not wild,, just wild from the hemp farms. WW2 we paid farmers to grow weed. And the strains they produced. MFers got HUGE. Least the main stem wood. Some of them plants got way over 15' easy. I seen them in Ind, up northern ways acouple miles away from one of the biggest X-hemp farms in the state. I seen the shit growing on ditches and edges of corn all over the state. I mean over 15' plants. Loaded with seed,, and headaches. Give true meanings,, even if it is true, smoke a rope. Or a doormat or a tag off a old sleeping bag. I got thrown in jail in 78' thinking I'd make a dollar off 50 pounds of it out in Cali,, all I got was jailed when I was 17. But I was a stoner long before I moved there,,, close to Gary Ind, and I had tons of 'Old Lumbo' seed in a good mix of them. I threw all my seed stock out over 4/5 good patches, like a 4 finger bag of seed. I'd hope they cross mingled and improved the local stock. Oh well,, I'm babbling,, but wondered about your seed,, is ALOT of great breeding went on over there.. Bubblegum is from local Ind growers. I was a kid back then and even seeded Mexican was killer at the time. Just want to tell ya wild plant can be a bad thing for a garden. Hope you got good solid seed stock from a grower, not just wild stock???
I see your close to me,, man strain is so important around here. Here we are,, if you can find yourself tomorrow for aminute in the dark, but rains start Oct 1st and mold kills 30% of yields around here after the rains start,, even with a cover over them. It helps,, keeping them out the rain. Be prepared,,, fans,,,,,,, alot of them,,, and dehumidifiers. When that temp starts to drop and the rain starts, even dry plants get mold. You 'MIGHT' help your girls with a dose of Actinovate as a drench. I dose all mine come the first of next months. And again in a week after the first. They claim it helps with rot. Also add sila a time or two soon. Build strong bones like calcium. Strong cell walls help with pests and molds. I use to use the heavy hitters for a fungicide. Eagle 20 one time first of Sept. But it's synthetic and don't go over well with tests. It's dissipated after 21 days. But for the sake of things this stuff isn't for me. But is one thing I can tell ya to do,, if anything, try Captin Jacks Dead Bug Brew come first of Sept. One good spraying will keep from having bud worms feasting on the buds. Besides from caterpillars climbing outta buds as they dry,, they do damage to the plants that invite molds. I don't get out and about much anymore,, but if you ever need to ask anything,, drive by and give me a yell.... I 'might' know something or someone;
Keepem Green
A couple of my plants got leggy and too tall, I put them in too early and reveg happens. I think I should have trimmed them more, just cut them down at three or four ft. . I didn't have much luck with bending, twisting, crushing. I never tried it before, so I wasn't very good at it.
Hahahahahahahaha wouldn't that be some shit!?Hey Norcal glad you found BWaffles journal it sounds like you might have improved the smokablity of the wild Midwest strain in certain areas lol and BWaffles might be a benefactor. Lol
one of my favorite parts of growing is manipulating the plant. When I grew indoors, i would lst the shit out of my ladies! the pinching, or super cropping always worries me. always ends up ok.
if you ever have any questions, I will always try my best to help!!
Glad you got to atleast see some of it!! I was lucky, saw 98% from my back patio.Happy eclipse day to you! We got about 70% down here and the morning cloud over broke enough to see it a bit.
Yeah the plants that got away from me revegged and got leggy, and they also got septoria yellow fungus spots, and I didn't want to overstress them so I let them go. The plants over five feet tall so I'll get something. Mj is fun to grow because it is so responsive and amenable to manipulation.
I don't use eagle 20, and I don't use spinosad(Captain jack) but I don't want to disrupt your thread with that discussion. Its a complicated and controversial and I understand both sides. I use Serenade and I'll probably add actinovate to my program.
I have some folks out near Omaha. One interesting point about your grow, whether something most probably from industrial strain, has interesting properties if grown well and as sinsemilla.
