Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

You, can see it better than I can. What you going to do with the males?
I’m going to turn them into topicals because they’re still therapeutic. And I’m going to keep one around long enough to harvest pollen so I can make more cookies and chem seeds.

I gotta say @Bean 7175 you did make me think I should really check again, and I don’t know.. my favorite plant kind of looks like it has nuts but maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll start putting out pistils.

Hey everyone,

So today marks the middle of July, which means this comparative grow kicks off in just over two weeks (August 1). Of course, there isn't really a formal window or anything, just fun to think that it will be starting soon. Despite not officially starting yet, the conversation and banter here has already been informative and fun. Hope everyone is still excited to get the ball rolling!

By coincidence, I finally took the plunge today and ordered some of the Chem 91 from CSI Humboldt. I have to mail a money order to them, and then they ship the seeds (they don't take credit cards). So the seeds likely won't arrive here in Canada for several weeks. That is ok, as my planned seed drop isn't until around the 20-30th of August - got to get some room for them in the tent first.

@Pennywise and others had such positive things to say about this particular strain and breeder, I just decided to splurge. Was flat rate shipping, so I threw a couple of other cultivars that caught my eye in the basket as well.

So I'll be doing my own mini-comparison grow: DinaChem and CSI Chem 91 - both are feminized photoperiods. Fun!

Anyone else have seed news to share?

I might get into breeding once I get better at growing and then there's making space in the house. It will not be any time soon. That's for sure. Have a good evening ChefDGreen.:bong:

Just did my first application of STS this afternoon - just playing around to see how it works. Hopefully will get a little pollen for experimental crosses.

I should have also mentioned that the CSI fellow gave me a discount code, and when I asked if I could share it here, he was very receptive. So if anyone is still thinking about seeds, use the code "summer sale" - good for 25% off.

If there is any interest, I'll order the 9.9 Kg from the Canadian site, and split it from two to four ways as a group purchase.
Nice of you to take the lead on that Salt! Hopefully you'll get some takers. The MC absorbs moisture like a sponge so try not to keep it exposed to air for long. If you do end up going that route make sure you store it in airtight containers. I have a mason jar I fill up for that reason and I store my large bag in an airtight 5gal pail. fyio.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it absorbed water so readily. I'm thinking of putting silica packs in each air-tight container.

Do you have a vacuum sealer? I use it for a lot of stuff, food and non-food, in small bags. Just another idea....

Yes, but I use a three tier system. Main storage is opened once every grow or two, intermediate storage should last through a grow, and the ready use locker, that's opened each time I mix a new batch of nutrient solution. It's good for about five batches. I'd use vacuum for the main storage, and silica packs downstream.

It's also very dusty. Wear a mask in a well ventilated area because as soon as you start to disturb it the dust starts to fly :) Some say it stinks too but I kinda like it tbh.

EDIT: Oops, was meant more for OldSalt.
