Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

Wish me luck - got my Ortho 6 week checkup tomorrow. I wasn't supposed to be walking or bending my knee.

You got it! Wishing you all the best news from you doctor tomorrow. Ask for help when you need it. The woman in the room with my wife didn't, and fell two weeks after her surgery. They had to go in, and replace the prosthetics they had just put in. You're almost out of the woods, so don't take any chances.

Great job. Ortho surgery has come a long way. Thankful you are doing so well. I hope your progress knocks the doctor on his/her a**. Glad the weed helps

It's come a long way, but it's no walk in the park either. My wife was sent home the day following her total knee replacement Dec 18. It took more than half an hour to get her 40ft (12m) from the car, up eight steps, and into the house. Six weeks later she had roughly the same amount of pain as she had before the surgery. Seven months later, she's relatively pain free, and walks much better than before the surgery. Do what the doctors tell you for exercise. My wife didn't, and it has slowed down her recovery, and decreased the possible outcome. Winter really did not help.

When I worked in a hospital, all Ortho patients said the knee is the hardest and most painful Ortho surgery. I saw multiple surgeries per patient, they said 18 months 1st knee, year 2nd knee. Hips faster. Shoulders always do first so you can use a walker for the legs. Always get the help you need. Those prosthetics are made to last much longer than before. It's worth being careful.

I don’t mean to change the subject, I really hope @Pennywise you’re feeling more more able and @bobrown14 youre check up goes perfectly.. but FUCK! I think I’m looking at 6/8 males.. :eye-roll:

I checked Amazon Canada, and they only have the 9.9Kg bag of Mega Crop left. That would last me about five years. I contacted the vendor, Greenleaf Nutrients, inquiring about smaller sizes. They are not getting more stock for more than a month. We can order from the US website, but the cost will be about double the US price in Canadian funds.

If there is any interest, I'll order the 9.9 Kg from the Canadian site, and split it from two to four ways as a group purchase.

Hey Salt. Great idea - I was thinking about the notion of a Canadian Purchasing Co-op just the other day! I'm going to pass on the Mega Crop at this time, but hopefully you will get some Cdn takers.

@Pennywise i took a couple pics of the primordia on the clear female, it’s kind of hard to tell because of the resolution but with the loupe it’s clearly a tiny calyx with a millimeter or two of pistil coming out.
When the primordias are a little bigger so the pictures are more clear I’ll take some photos for you guys

Thanks, seems people are getting confused. Hard telling how many plants get cut down as males due to misidentification
I’m not culling anybody until it’s more than obvious. Also I’m going to save a male for pollen so they’re not all going down. I mean, I trust my judgment on what I’m seeing, but I also know that each strain can have a primordial structure that’s slightly different so it’s better to wait until your plant is full of nuts before you chop it.

I remember how nervous I was the first time I grew out some regular seeds. I guess because I had no clue how long I had to remove a male once boy parts started appearing. There is a pretty good cushion between when you start seeing pollen sacks and when those pollen sacks begin to open up and let loose their pollen.

Okay so I snapped some pics just now. Surprisingly two of the plants I just assumed were males cause of how tall and lanky they look don’t have any primordia that I can see... maybe they’ll be females after all?
Here they are :

I feel like everyday I don’t see a nut they’re that much more likely to be female. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed on those two. It would be nice to get four females instead of two.

Here’s all the boys:

That’s it for known boys, now on to the females. One of the females I super cropped, just cause I wanted to try it. She’s the one with the stigma showing.

Here’s the other female. She doesn’t have stigma showing yet, but her primordia are the same shape and size as girl 1. I’m confident she’s a lady.

She’s got tiny little primordia, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be calyxes.

Now this is NOT a 100% guarantee. But from my experience when the plant's stipules cross tips as a rule the plant is going to be a female. So if I were a betting man I would say that your suspected female #2 is going to end up being a female.

I think you’re right. I wonder why crossed stipules is a trend or where that comes from..
I really really hope the two unknowns are ladies. They just seem too tall and stretchy. Maybe they’re that way cause I really messed up the fim and they turned out not topped at all.. but their side branches are so puny it doesn’t give me a lot of confidence.

Hello ChefDGreen, Male #1 looks like it could be female. Seem like you might get white hairs. With a little more time, you will be able to tell better. I could be wrong. These little beauties can be tricky.

The picture is blurry, but there are 2 nuts on one node, it’s almost a sure male

Thanks Bean. I go simple as possible, I use dynagro protekt and dynagro foilage pro and that’s all I use besides a little calmag starting around week 4. Dynagro is a complete formula, it has everything you need in the foilage pro. I add the protekt cause it’s silica and silica builds stronger cell walls and that means stronger branches, it’s also helps the plant with environment stress along with other things. Dynagro is simple and easy, that’s why I like it and I’ve been getting great results with it. I’ve used 3 other brands of nutes and I like dynagro the best. I’ve thought about trying mega crop but I’ve got a gallon of dynagro so maybe once I use that up I may try it and see how I like it.✌

Ghost, I bought a bag of mega crop in the past. It was not liquid, it was granular like. Well, I open it up and left it open just for a short time and the air turn it into gummy paste. I don't know if you have ever use mega crop before, just want to warn you how fast the air made it a liquid paste.
