White Widow Halloween Grow With 315 Watt CMH Light Journal

Think of the physics behind light - if you let them go like trees then the tops will be way closer to the lamp

Light decreases strength exponentially the further you get from the source

It's called the inverse square law

Training your plants to spread out wide will allow you to bring the lamp closer to the main plant body and therefore higher strength light will reach the maximum amount of the plants vegetation

I understand what your saying. Just not sure how to apply that too my situation seeing how I didn't let them grow like a tree ;) But yeah I get it tho and I thank you for your advice. A scrog may be in the works but right now that is pretty much what I already have minus the net.
Unless I'm missing something

Don't worry about it. Let 'em grow and learn from it. You're doing fine as-is, IMO.

What dogwash said perfectly applies to your situation BC of the way you have been training you girls. IMO slap a screen on them girls and start tucking away. It will help maintain an even canopy later in flowering and ensure max yield.

Long time viewer first time poster. Your girls are exactly a month in head of my baby. Ffof soil, fox farm trio nutes, sun system 315 lec. G13 labs- Pineapple Express. Going to finish her in a 10 gal smartpot scrog style

Your girls are looking beautiful Grebs! Keep up the good work, I'll be riding her out till the end with you! Can't wait to see what you get!

Get yourself a journal started so I can follow. Not many of us around who are using these lights

Side view. Phone doesn't like the light sorry.

And here they are today. They are doing pretty good but I will be giving them an even less dose of nutrients next time they get fed. Some tips started to show some yellow so its back off time.
Here are a few top views.

Hello everyone. A new development has just arose. Found all the parts to a 2 foot by 2 foot by 4 foot tent. I put it together and figure why not use it. I worry I wont have enough to last another grow that would have to start right after these 4 are done from seed. But now I have another tent. A small tent but a tent none the less. I could grab a cheaper light for it and start now. I have a few more white widow seeds I could pop. Or I could try my hand at cloning what I have. One fear I have with cloning is I've bent my plants to a point where pretty much even the bottom gets light. The 2 biggest are pretty full tho. Just hate to take a potential bud for a clone that may not even make it. Not sure what the success rate is for newbs.
Give me your thoughts. What would you do? Not sure where to even begin to take a cut for a clone even after watching vids.

You don't have to take the top colas. As a matter of fact, It's better to take the lowest shoots on the limb. i just got an aero cloner about 1 month ago, and I've got it dialed in now. i would highly recommend an aero cloner !! But hey, i've rooted clones in a dixie cup of whatever mix I was using, with a baggie for humidy dome. I've used rockwool cubes under humidity dome with heating pad. But the Aero cloner, is best for me.

Cloning is nice especially if you like the strain you're growing, plus it's good practice. I agree with slowpuffer about taking clones from the lower branches. I would take at least one more clone than you want just in case they don't all make it. As far as a light, for early Veg and cloning you don't need much more than basic fluorescents any way. You could get a couple 1' tubes or a 100w cfl. Both allow the light to be really close to the plant and with a 100w cfl and the limited height you won't have to worry about heat issues and can even grow the entire plant under it, from clone to flower.

Nothing really new to show. Just letting them do there thing. Was kinda hoping for some serious growth. Not sure if its just me messing things up for the slow growth or the light just doesn't do it. I'm not disappointed. Just was hoping to flip soon but there still on the small side. I did how ever take 6 cuttings for cloning. Heres hoping a few root for me.
I was a lil surprised that the clones started standing straight up. They all had bends from LST. Kind of figured they would stay bent for awhile with being shocked.

Hopefully on the clone side of things I can get a nice mother or 2 for more clones. Starting to think with the way things are going my first harvest will be on the small side so ill need to more to flower right away. I hate not having any bud.
I don't have a heating pad under my clones. the temps in the room are anywhere from mid 60s to high 70s F. Is this bad? ill get a heating pad if its necessary. Just trying to watch my money a bit.

I think / hope you will be surprised at what happens once you flip 'em. They might be a little on the small side - I forget how big your space is (a little buzzed). Check out these I grew about a year ago. I had plenty of problems throughout. I think they are close to the same age and size as yours.

There are 5 plants in the photos in a space roughly 3'x3'. This is what happened after the flip.

I radically de-fol'd them which might have hurt my yield ... or not. Even with non-stop problems during this grow, I managed to average nearly 2 oz. per plant and it was mighty nice smoke.

Beautiful colors you had going on with that grow Major. Its a 3 foot by 3 foot space I'm in. And you are right. I actually have no clue what I'm in for. ive never seen a real life grow. just pics
Once u flip to 12 .12 they seem to be on steriods they just grow so fast its unreal u can see a diffrence from just a 12 hour day

Happy Holidays everyone!
Here is a cpl pics from this morning. There are growing fine and so far I'm still gonna flip on new years. Hoping the clones take root first tho so hard saying. I may wait until they root to flip just in case I need more clones. Should have taken some pics of the clones but they pretty much look the same. One of the clones leaves are drooping some. I did crack the air vents open yesterday about an 1/8th of a turn and left it open. Mistake?
Under these lights the plants almost look as if they have a Zink deficiency. I should have taken one out of the light for a better look. Maybe its just the lights messing with me?
Anyways that's that and there growing nice otherwise

Ok some experienced growers input would be great. Here are the ladies as of today. They are growing pretty nice now and filling up my area. Now as far as vertical growth goes I'm still ok as they was trained and so far have stayed pretty low. Just now growing higher as I have stopped LST on them. My problem is I am running out of room horizontally.
I understand that they can Dbl or even triple in height when in flower. What about girth? Plan was to flip new years but not I'm not so sure I have the room. I could use some opinions on what to do. Here are a few pics.

As you can see in the group pic they have started filling the tent up. Not sure what to expect after flip and would hate to be overcrowded.
