Wheelo's 3rd run - Attack of the Holy Shoots

now as far as these clones i got, i don't know what is going on here. they are showing some weird growth patterns, and traits.

for instance this one looks like a FIMming session gone really right!

i think i might call this girl rouge after the x-men mutant.

the center leaf in this fan leaf is a second tier mutant hovering above its own leaf brothers lol.

I don't know what the hell my friend is doing to these things, I'm gonna have to ask him tomorrow.

the title of this journal could have been attack of the holy mutants. lol.

yeah thats definetly a clone cut from a mother that was flowering. It does something to thier genetic blocks to form that.Your going to end up either do some lst or trim a couple branches on that one.

this HS strain is pretty hardy compared to others i've grown, i'm sure they'll all be strong. Such huge pots (3 gal) i will def LST them just to try to max them out as much as i can. It's been a while since i grew in dirt, and never mixed my own organic feed soil before. man it feels like so long between waterings after you get use to hydro.

I'm actually diggn the fim looking one, more branches = more bud!

i don't clone in flower, although it would be handy in my case. so i usually dont see these types of deformities i guess. i still think he must have fimmed that one. there are like 6 branches all coming out of the same node.

Hey Wheelo,
They look like the clones that I took off of a flowering mother. It's crazy, they act as if they've been topped or fimmed. Nothin wrong with that though.

thanks swapgas, nope, nothing wrong with that at all. more branches = more happiness. lol.

Flowering clones are great in that you usually end up with a lot more branches and usually a better yeild from my personal experiences. Only down side is the reversion back to veg before going to flower again takes a little bit of time. I've never flowered a flowering clone that young, usually grew it out for a few weeks and flowered once normal veg like nodes were developing.

the way you can always tell. Is if when they start to grow out they willstart for one leaf then restart just like if you were to start it from seed, or at least thats what happens when i cut from flower.I will be doing some cutting from flowering soon even though i have mothers.I like the way your lady lokks like it has a crown from all those branches.

well that should be good then, because my veg time will be determined by the wheel, but i bet it will be a few weeks at least if not more, i will just judge it as it goes, so that should be enough veg for the dirts too.

lol, i don't have much experience with flowering clones. i have reverted for a second harvest before. man they do look weird but i like it!

clones from flowering plants, lol, every clone i ever made, i flowered. oh you mean clone -> 12/12 right away. i vegged under a week my first wheel grow. i should have been more descriptive. lol i am failing at language.

huh? lol flowering clones are clones cut from a plant already in 12/12 for a few weeks. The clone is a branch with a bud site at the top. You must first reveg (you get real funky growth at this point) until normal MJ looking leaves and nodes start growing. You'll notice the bud site stretch out and throw some serious new branches out. you end up with crazy dense nodes at the base which gives you numerous colas.

In a effort not to put my pics in your journal I put a link to them..

gotcha..nahh its not you its me, i sometimes over analyze things.but thatnks for the clearity.:grinjoint:

lol, well you are the observant one.

i figured i'd throw it in to see if you noticed. actually since there is a period after the first 7, those will be the commandments. the last one is just good advice. lol.

check out my thread, i have a purple haze clone taken from a plant 2 weeks into flower. this perticular plant started showing sex in veg, & started clustering up pistols during veg(18/6). anyways it took over a month to start & reveg, but was still forming calyxs. but new pics are in my new journal. weedys closet. all old pics are in my phototron journal

WheelO, I'm a little confused, or maybe just too baked... But are you going to fill the VG up all the way soon? I don't know what you're trying to do here, scrog? I'm dying to see the VG in action, filled to the brim and maxed out.

BTY, don't give up on me yet, think I'm close to getting the video show on the air again...

ugh leo, ugh.

i was originally going to wait and fill the wheel completely with a bunch of clones. This would prob be the best option.

however, if I wanted to wait and fill it completely I guesstimate that it would take me 3-4 weeks to get the clones (and leave them moms big enough to get a decent harvest from them too), then 2 more for them to root before they would go into the wheel. Then a few days in veg in the wheel.

that's longer than I am willing to wait right now, so I am going to do this (the current plan):

the wheel: I just put 8 clones in the wheel last night. thats all she's getting! i will veg the wheel following normal scrog guidelines. instead of building a screen to put in the wheel, i am just going to basically LST them to the outside wall. I will throw them in flower when it is nearing full, but keep lst'ing them to the wall for the next week or two of stretch. hopefully i will time it right, and and get a bunch of nice 10" or so buds. I have increased the root space by 6x to allow for bigger plants.

this is an experiment that might bomb, but knowledge will be gained. so i'm willing to try it, and show you guys in the process. who knows, maybe i'll pull a million pounds this way. at any rate, it should show people who live in MMJ states with low plant counts whether or not this would be a viable system for them. plus if you don't live in a mmj state this might make your "crime" less "bad" in a judges eyes (only having 8 plants)

ill take pics soon.

as far as the super soil goes, they are in veg and being lst'd until the wheel is ready to go because obviously i have to have the lights in sync for flower. they should get pretty big by then, i am using 3 gal pots, and hav some good supplemental light coming from the wheel. this is my backup plan if the wheel doesn't produce like i hope.

last, i have 2 HS clones left and 2 GWS seedlings. these will stay in the tent to veg, but when i start flower i will clone the GWS's for moms in the fridge. I haven't decided what i am gonna do with the two extra HS clones. my options are to veg them out for more clones, flower them with the others, or what i have been considering lately, STS one of them, and seed the other.

this HS strain is a local clone only strain that i really like, If i could get some female seed for stock safety both me and my friend would really appreciate it. then i could try other things, but still be able to go back later if i wanted. this HS really is the most robust strain i have had the pleasure of growing.

You just had to go and get all tricky and try new things, you're a restless soul like me I guess. I'll be watching closely, this should be interesting and answer a lot of good questions. Does your cam have a video function? When you flip the VG to 12/12, you should get a few moms going so they'll be nice and big in 2 months to take clippings and do a full run.

I'm sure it varies with strain, nutes and environment, but it would be nice to figure out how to optimize the VG with a lot fewer plants by training them and see how much the yields varies from a full run with 80 clones. Of course you have to add veg time, but if you could have two or more VG's to run to make up for that and could still produce as much or close to a full VG, then it's worth it if you have plant count restrictions.

The big question to answer (after gaining years of experience) would be how many VG's can you fit in a 100 sq ft space, and using LMT and staying under 100 plants total (mothers and clones included), while maximizing the timing and schedule to produce the biggest yield. You could do this in parts of Nor Cal and be completely safe and legit.
