Wheelo's 3rd run - Attack of the Holy Shoots

lol, i know that was a lot of text, but it did say that i had some great white shark seedlings growing up. they will be moms for the next run.

my cam is a digital SLR. no video. maybe someday, i want a sony camcorder.

if my model works out well, you could run 10 vg's and still have 20 plant count for moms and clones.

it should all be answered in about 12-13 weeks.

What are the specifications for the electric motor used in this rotary garden? Specifically horse power rating, rmp and motor shaft diameter.
 
so just a little more info,

I have the res pump daisy chained on two timers, the secondary at 45 min, the primary at 12 hours. this should result in watering once every two days for 45 minutes.. I will keep my eye on it the first week to make sure it stays good.

from reading more literature on RW, it seems to me that it should like to breath a little more. the main fact that pretty much the same amount of nutes are available to the roots at 100% saturation as at 30%. in my environment, watering once a day would resaturate the RW after it had lost . . . my guess is . . . maybe 20-25%? after two days down to 45-50%? three says 65-75%? and by the fourth or 5th day it would be over dry.

so if i water it every other day, i think i will be letting the RW get at least half dry before resaturating. i will watch it, and maybe even go once every three days.

obviously as the plants get bigger, the roots will be more thirsty and i might have to up the feeding schedule.

I put in some wicks to see if they make a difference , but with the double cube setup i got going, it doesn't work like it should i don't think. . . we'll see.


also, my boy had a couple cones die, and needs a couple more, so i will give him the two that i haven't used yet. that takes care of those ideas. lol, the big hs is getting so big i will have to lst her or cone her or do something. i have to think about how to lst in a bag. . . bags were a bad idea. i have pots. just wanted to try something new.

it is kinda small, and pretty loud. i don't know. i will have to look up some of the part numbers on it and see what i can come up with.

with rigid pots, you can just put holes around the top and tie a string to it and lst. with these bags, there is nothing to tie a string to.

i'm reconsidering scrog. . . i dont really know what i want to do yet, but i have to decide soon, the first mom is getting big.

Ok, I was wondering if you didn't like the bags for other reasons also.

also, i decided to take them all out of the wheel today and put the RW cubes into the neighboring holder before it was too late and everything was lst'd down.

This also gave me a chance to pull them down even more than the first time.

one last note:
my friend swears up and down that these clones never saw 12/12, the mom it was taken from never saw 12/12. he swears he never fimmed it either.

so i guess i'm left with the fact that somehow it was stressed to do this. . . they all look the same so it must be something that was done to all of them.

weird, i know. . . but my friend is not an idiot, and i trust he knows whether or not he was in 12/12. you know?

so , i can't explain it. sure seemed to fit with flowered clones. but i know he doesn't usually do that either.

all of the dirty girls but one have just gone through a growth spurt.

i'll try to snap some pics tonight if i can get a chance.

currently, i have increased the root space by 4x. I will most likely go to 6x, but i could go all the way to 10x if i so choose. the modular nature of the design of the wheel, made my modification also work modularly. i will add more space when it can use it. these were just watered. the orange looking stuff on the side is just the hps.

i think that they are starting to turn towards the light a bit, but i can't see any major growth yet by eye. i am going to put a 600 MH in there for the rest of veg as soon as i get paid.

okay, look in the group shot at the one in the middle, here is the kind of weird growth i am getting from these girls. this was not topped, or anything. she just decided two heads are better than one i guess.

i think they are starting to grow more normally now that they are moving.
