Wheelo's 3rd run - Attack of the Holy Shoots

If you can get your plants to a height where the bottoms of their pots are above the water line of a possible reservoir, then you will not need a control bucket to do E & F. My system works fine using an high water mark overflow tube. The drain all goes back out the fill line once the pump cuts off. In the design I employed, you don't need to put any holes below the water line and still can drain out all the water so no chance for a disastrous water leak. There is less to go wrong and is cheaper to implement. Great for smaller ScrOG grows.

thanks all.

mcbuds, I got that 2 gal sprayer just for the purpose. . . it takes a little longer to do, but it makes it a breeze. just pump up some pressure and hold the button down. nice and easy.

nice screen brother!!are those 1 or 2 inch holes?

Look to post #220 in this thread. They are 2 inch holes but only because WoF made 1600 cuts to remove some of the wire! Dedication!

well i would have bought 2" if i could have found some, but the biggest at home depot was 1" and the smallest at my hydro store is 7". lol, 7", wtf can you do with 7" holes. not get an even canopy thats for sure.

so yeah, it sucked but i think it will make the harvest go more smoothly.

7"?

Are they selling that for scrogs?

I'd like to live in that world, lol.

That might be nice for a trellis grow.

so I went shopping today. now i am super broke for 4 weeks. good thing for credit cards. but i don't use them at the hydro store so i had to use all my cash.

remember, I already have Connoisseur A + B
Today I bought:
Grow
Micro
SensiZym
B-52
Overdrive,
H-2
Piranha
Tarantula
and Big Bud.

trust me, I spent a pretty penny. what I left out:

voodoo juice = just too expensive right now, i used it in the first week.
Mother Earth Tea = they didn't have any at the hydro store
F-1 = They didn't have any at the hydro store
Carboload = I have some sweet so I will use that for now.
Bud Blood = They didn't have it at the hydro store.
Final Phase = I have both Flora Kleen and a full bottle of clearex.

so I am nut'ed up. next res change I am going to switch to AN grow and micro.

here is the new res. when i get a chiller it will be more effective. it sits about 71-72 right now.

in this one you can see that i moved the bypass out of the tank so i can cut off the valve and "stir" the tank whenever i want to, or when i'm mixing the res.

i like your cooler idea for rez...i may have to use that idea of this new venture of my own volks garden....how many gallons is tthat..and do you have that auto topped ? or u fill it up every other day? also when you first started how offen did you water..like only once the first 3 to 4 days and how much do you water now? could you give me a first 3 weeks of your watering times and your thoughts regarding the water dripping?
thanks budd and looks good...

no prob omen,

that res is 10 gal, honestly i wish it was 12. i found that anything bigger than this is a waste because i have to toss all those expensive nutes every week or so. the thing that sucks is that the top will only open 45 degrees because of the hoses. would have been better if i could have ported into the back instead of the top. maybe down the road i will try to remedy this problem.

i just fill it up every couple days with plain RO maybe 2-3 times throughout the week.

i haven't been writing it down exactly but for the first week, i usually just manually plug in the pump when the RW gets pretty dry, i would say about 3 days

the second week i started getting busy so i put it on two daisy chained timers one on 45 min and the other on 12 hours. this fed it every other day for 45 minutes.

the third week i went to once a day, which is where i am now. because i put that dehumidifier in there now, it is drying out to the point of just being damp in 24 hours so its perfect, when the get bigger and are thirstier i might have to go to twice a day.

as far as dripping, i have none internally. it does drip on the outside, especially with my double cube technique, and it really makes me mad because the RW cubes stick out about 1" farther than the flood table. if the damn table was an extra 1.5" then it would all go back into the table, but ut doesn't. it drips on the floor. I have been thinking about extending the table by an inch or two somehow. i guess this is what the wicks are for, but they dont work with my double cubes.

7"?

lol, i think it is trellis, but man me too, i was crackin up when i thought about the bud that would be too big for a 7" scrog. it's all they had though.

lo.. try dealing with 2 x 55 gallon drums I push them out to 10 day chnage cycles. I buy 6 gallon nute containers with the spiget. ouch on me wallet man. I still have left overs from the 1 gallon soil ferts I used for almost a year. Hydro adds ease of garden management but its soo expensive!!

I was thinking you needed something to absorb and hold the nutes in the teabag.

oic, well no nutes are going in just piranha and tarantula. they never really totally dissolve, and in hydro i was guided to put them in a tea bag to let them seep into the res.

yeah I feel ya. . . probably why you wouldn't want to run AN either. but. . . if lots of $$ on nutes = lots of $$ in return, its worth it in the end. i have lots of left overs too, it kills ya to let it just sit there. I am gonna run an outdoor garden next summer and use all my old nutes i think.
