Hi dankman, firstly gutted on the mites, they really are a growers worst nightmare ,Hello growers! I've recently got spider mites and I want to implement a IPM in my garden. I'm trying to find out what the best IPM program is so I can keep these pests under control. What is your IPM? Thanks and have a Dank day
Ive had serious problems with these in the past. Tried a lot of the sprays on the market but most of them seemed uneffective at stopping the life cycle(never seemed to kill the eggs).
I now add sachets of
Amblyseius californicus as a preventative (these can live a few weeks without food as well as surviving harsher temp swings than others).
last time i had a outbreak i used
last time i had a outbreak i used
Phytoseiulus persimilis straight out of a shaker bottle along side
Amblyseius californicus sachets
, it worked well. I wash my harvest if using predetor mites. Sorts the issue of sawdust , i dont really like the idea of smoking mite excrement either .Just a Heads-up on the predatory mites or other live natural enemy's.
They are usually shipped in a package with "fine wood chips" just a bit
bigger than (saw dust)
If using during flower DO NOT just open the package and sprinkle over
the tops of the plants. WHY ?, Because all the wood chips get STUCK to the buds,
Learned that the hard way
