What's In Jim's Grow Room?

I grew basil with a plant before, and currently have catnip running with a plant. The only thing I've seen, is that the pot will get dry quicker. I wouldn't think chives would be any different. If you're going for growing conditions for plants that contradict each other, I'd angle it towards the cannabis one. ;)

Cool! So ya... I went and bought some chives and planted them under all my plants...... We will see what happens. If they take away the thrips and gnats it would be awesome! Plus I love that onion flavor!

im going to grow some of those in my gr to there good with foods you want to be careful buying plants from the nursery they can have bugs in them you don't want!:)

I bought seeds :)
Yep...I started mine from seeds.

I sure hope you folks don't think chives is some sort of "Silver Bullet" for all you pests. It's not. The only thing it's proven in my garden is that I've not had mites - yet. I still treat my gnats with ground mosquito dunks at the soil level for larvae and fly ribbon for the adults although I haven't seen any adults on that thing because it's hanging in the back of the tent.

For the time I've been growing I just haven't had any major pest problems. My first line of defense is Insecticidal soap, followed by neem oil, then Captain Jack's Deadbug brew (contains spinosad).

Neem and karanja cake in the soil amendment probably helps some too. And I try to keep the place clean.

That all sounds good to me! I have always been a fan of growing other things along side the canna... I have just been slacking lately..

Thanks for the inspiration, Folks. I meant to get basil, too, but was in a hurry and forgot.

Cheers,

absolutely not jim I was just thinking I could fit a small pot of chives in there and if it acts as a deterant all the better I was thinking some green onions to those are easy I think if a guy was going to count on chives for pests you would need several in there for lots of smell which is probably why mites don't like them!

I watched Clemson become College Football Champions last night. It was a pretty good game.

I'm still sticking with the Feed/water/water schedule and it's gotten to 2 gallons ever 2 days. Royal Gorilla seems to drink just slightly less so I try to adjust. So far so good. I use a probe to measure the pot's dryness and have determined that Sour Angel has the thickest root mass by the difficulty of getting the probe in.

I potted up the last of the cuts of Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry that I had been sitting in a bottle of water and enjoyed the sunny kitchen window for a month. Roots sometimes are that slow to develop.

The Chems are starting to stink the place up a bit. They are providing that rotten smell which I assume turns to the fuel like sweetness at cure. It's It Punch has a very similar pleasant rot with a bit of woodsy aroma. Not quite pine but I'm certain it will change a bit between now and harvest.

It's supposed to be around 67 F here today then cold again tomorrow. I'm running late today because I got high AF this morning. Some days if just affects me this way. :bongrip:

News for weed stocks Tilray Inc and Canopy Growth Corporation

Piper Jaffray initiated coverage of Tilray Inc (NASDAQ: TLRY) and Canopy Growth Corp (NYSE: CGC) with Overweight ratings and $90 and $40 price targets, respectively.

Tilray boasts the right structure for long-term global growth from its global existing relationships across the medical and beverage sectors, according to Piper Jaffray.

On the other hand, Canopy Growth's existing large size can be leveraged to create near-term momentum that should generate the necessary resources to help fuel long-term opportunities, Lavery said.

Disclosure: I'm long CGC

I smoked the smallest amount of some taster clippings of It's It Punch this morning. It was a very nice mellow high centered in the brow and forehead. This one is definitely going to be a regular for my mornings. She caused me to do a bit of work this morning that I normally would have just put off for later.

One would think it's a bit early to be checking trichomes but IIP is beginning to get cloudy and I think she might be a nice finisher. All of the girls will get at least one more feeding then predominately straight water to begin a fade. A good majority of the flowers have displayed the orange/red hairs while continuing to push out new pistils.

@SweetSue will be landing in the Old North State today. :bongrip:

Thanks so much for the visits and comments. The flowering girls got what I plan as their last feeding early this morning. I guess it could be that my plan is wrong but I'm still attempting to develop some sort of feeding schedule that allows the plant to thrive in an organic environment. I want the plants to get everything that's necessary for flower development from the soil amendments which have been added to my mix over the past couple years. Wishful thinking perhaps.

I need to find a better way to light the bloom room for photography. Pictures don't look as green as they do to my eye. I'll look around. When I moved I tossed away some things not used frequently yet still had a purpose. Oh well...

The Five Team They are really pouring on the flower production. Lots of colas but most of the gaps won't get filled. They'll do their best I'm sure. I'm guessing 3 weeks and most will be done. 8.7 weeks sounds sweet to me.

The Chem 91 cross started with the withering orange pistils this week. There's a beautiful flower at the top surrounded by variegated leaves twisting to the lighter side of the leaves.

I just haven't found the right amount of Calmag for her. I'm also in need of a new pH meter as this one has an intermittent switch. I do love the way these flowers are forming the pointy little peaks. She's going to be prime I think.

Sour Angel is competing well for queen of the show.

I just call her Punchie because I think the finished product might be a quick few hitters and your head is going to feel much different very quickly. I may go searching for more low buds to test.

Here's the other queen competitor. Not a troubling leaf anywhere. Easy to grow and I've heard quite a few comments about the potency here. I won't be testing her before harvest.

Sunny, windy and cold outside. Brrrrr :bongrip:
