What's In Jim's Grow Room?

Well well well MJ, your "valley girls" are looking super fine. I've been away the last ten months but I'm finally back and ready to get my grow on. You were one of the first to befriend me so I felt it only right to come to your garden first and seek a peek. I'll be back MJ, I have a lot of catching up to do......:peace:
Welcome back @Rooster1. I know you've been out there helping people. 'Sorry that my garden is not filled with flowering ladies but I decided early on that I just wasn't going to battle heat this summer. It's a good thing as it has allowed me to make a small contribution to my neighbors.

Today I'm off to gather stuff for a substance abuse treatment center in the western part of the state. :bongrip:

Morning MJ, I do hope your trip to the west yesterday was enjoyable. I didn't get a chance to get around to all the folks I used to visit as of yet..... still getting much needed rest. Seven days a week for the last ten months has worn this Ole Rooster out ! One thing for sure my friend, I'm happy to be home and to return to start another garden. I'll be in touch MJ, going to run a few gardens and drop off a few hello's ..........:peace:

So I was telling @kelticBlue this morning that my no-till pots appear to be missing some nutrients and the Pakistan Valley clones were already showing deficiencies that probably could be cured with a bit of kelp and EWC tea but I wanted to trim them a bit and top dress with KIS Organics Nutrient Pack. 1 teaspoon of the Nutrient Pack was top dressed on each pot and scratched into the first two inches or so of soil. I watered it all in with clean water and 2.5 ml/gal of SLF-100. It's an organic emzymatic cleanser that I'll be using for the next run.

I topped each clone about half way and trimmed every fan from below the branch. I took the bottom 2 branches off completely. We'll see how this goes.

I also treated myself to a new tool. It's a Dramm 5 liter pot with removable plastic rose. I first saw this in one of the greatest first grows ever.

Have a great day...Vaping Labyrinth...oh my! :bong:

Now that I know where the beans are from I have a real need to watch how it runs Amy.
:thumb: I’m happy for that MJ! I’m so appreciative and honoured to have them - I hope I do them proud. This one is indoor, obviously and my first indoor grow, we’ll see how well I do. I might be able to squeeze one in outside this summer though so you’ll get to see one grow out under this southern sun one day that’s certain. I’m quite a bit further south from where your pa had all his wills adventures though... but still, same continent at least :)

Nice photo tour through your topping technique, helpful

I used to be so cautious about topping and trimming. I think my hand shook the first time. I’m always bragging how fearless I am, but that’s with my life, not theirs. Lol!

Two little clones after the tents you’ve run.....must feel a little bit like you’re on vacation.

I had a thought that Blue Dream might not be doable in NOLA. In Tead’s garden they’ve been a mite attractor. Awk! I’m hoping I’ll have more luck because it’s the daughter’s new favorite - your fault @bobrown14, and thank you :hugs: - and I’ll have to find a source if it won’t behave.

I sure hope I have luck with it Jim. Been itching to get another one started. :slide:

The first time I topped one I'll admit to being somewhat nervous about it. I was no longer growing bagseed and had actually spent good money for a seed.

When I ran my Classics grow I became really aggressive at tipping the branches. It took a while for me to understand how it would branch after I cut.

Funny thing about favorites. They will change according to one's exposure to new strains. My second bowl this morning was White Widow. My second grow had her and Jack Herer. They both became favorites. I still like the subtleties of the highs of both of them. For a time, the Dark Devil Auto that you suggested was a thing. Tremors...

So did your daughter not fall in love with growing her own meds? Maybe that gene of yours was recessive. Anyway...rambling.

My closest friend here has lung cancer. He and I hugged and prayed together this morning. I'm a little sad. :bongrip:

Since I haven't started any seeds all I do is play as the Pakistan Valley girls just sort of grow themselves. I was going to start a foliar spray of some sort but my sprayer is being used for a Calcium (chloride) treatment being applied to tomatoes. The first tomato had suffered blossom end rot. It wasn't my soil. It was some reasonably priced garden soil I bought last year. I pulled one today that was split and was being eaten by a granddaddy long legged spider and a centipede. Tough neighborhood and lots of rain here. I will claim success on the second tomato though....one of the best I've grown in years.

2 days since topping and removing the fans the girls seem to be doing ok. I guess I should be snipping the final nodes of each branch if I'm going to maintain these bonsai small which is the objective. I think the wee bit of top dressing got them cranking out those leaves now. Such a crazy plant. All it wants to do is grow.

I'm a bit goofy this morning. There's a small cup of ground herb I found under some kief in my pan. Of course I did a cokespoon full of kief before testing the herb. It might be Panama. Now I have to go smell some jars.

Awwwww kitty! Purrrrty for sure.

Curious about your taking the fans off, may I learn why?

I always like to see what you're up to. :green_heart:

The reason I remove the fans below each branch is so the branch will receive growth energy. The remaining bit of petiole from the fan will heal and eventually die without harming the plant. My experience is that those lower fans will die anyway and I like to water a certain way so I'll remove anything at the bottom of the plant that might interfere with watering.

Today I will begin a foliar feeding and I must get the spray nozzle under everything to spray upward to the leaves' stomata.

They'll look a bit better later today. They're a wee bit on the dry side this morning and my efforts with the camera this morning a bit sub par. Have a great Friday folks. Ultra Dawg waking a baking this morning...maybe I'll top with Chemdawg. :bongrip:
