What's In Jim's Grow Room?

They look very much like my own did Jim. :high-five:

The first time I smoked UD I was stunned at the complexity and potency. The daughter and I were reminiscing about the perfume tones that stumped our attempts at identification.

Glad it worked for you Jim. :battingeyelashes: I have my next one waiting to fit into the schedule. There’s never enough room. Lol!

Ultra Dawg I haven't given this one a proper smoke report and I'm really not that good at this.

What I will say is this one turned out (to the best of my limited knowledge) to be a OG Kush leaner as it finished with a sweet smell distinguished with a mostly lemon but a full citrus aroma. I previously called this sweetness in a jar and it continues even in the smoke. I rolled a couple of joints yesterday and smoked one out at the river and just wanted to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds. Smoke has perfume bits...crazy.

I smoked only two tokes when I left the clinic this morning for a previously scheduled visit. Soon I was completely aware that I probably shouldn't have been driving. It has a pretty high potency....perhaps a little too strong for early mornings. I washed the truck after getting home so it doesn't put you down although the eye lids may get heavy. Overall...good aroma and great smoke.

Oh dude... I had to do a double take to make sure you didn't steal my photos and slap them on your thread. Those photos sure could have come out of my world too. Love me sum UD. You'll be a touch surprised by how far a bit of UD goes. It may not be a huge producer, but it's effectiveness makes up for it.

Well I said it a couple of times... not much on the looks or yield... but it'll melt yr brain

You keep on sayin it baby.... spot on!

And he didn't even get the strongest genotype

Other thoughts... after a bowl of Ox.... a cross between UD and OGK that will mellow your coffee twitch....

UD seems to be very cloneable. 2 weeks in a perlite pot and you've got an army of them.
I've tried bumping up their size a few minor ways. You get more buds, but not so much bigger buds.
During my bug invasions, UD seems to be less attractive to the mites... while other plants were much more attractive.
They do dig a hotter world. They do better in my swampy summers than the winter.
If odor is an issue in your world, you may want to put a filter in place.... way smelly.
I've been crossing them with very good results. I've got a beatiful Critical+ 2.0 / UltraDog going I call 'CrUD'.
The plant's form is really just right for a sea of smaller container grows... like a bunch of 2Ls. I grew many of them in 2Ls and usually got about 1oz from each 2L in my OsmoHempies.

You’re tempting me to start a UD thread. We have more and more of them growing. I mean really, I couldn’t handle one more? Lol!

That was a lot of good information. When I get that thread started I’ll be lifting this post to drop it in.

It's going to be 80s F today and I've already washed the little car and rode around a bit. Came home and vacuumed the carpets....lalala. I'm smoking Blue Dream today. UD can take a back seat while I'll enjoy doing some more driving. OK so here's a kicker on the Ultra Dawg.

I've only smoked the picked around bud junk left from the seeded buds. I wonder how much better the unseeded buds are. UD FTW.

Sometimes the seeded one is better :passitleft:

You nailed it IMO! UD or most of its genotypes really thrive in heat and they don't really have to be watered that often, but they need a lot of space for the roots and rather long veg.

Clonability has to have sth with how toast bred this strain. He kept cloning his OG then his Ultra OG and backcrossing.

Aurora Ultra was adapted to desert conditions of SoCal. She was meant to be topped multiple times outdoor and she changed colour due to cold nights.

Outcrossing changed a few things. Trichomes in UD were sticking too strong to dry sift it and AU was a hash plant basically. There was slightly more leaf, but it also pushed the branchiness, so multiple topping/fimming became even more effective. And the taste was much improved, sweet notes are everywhere in this line now, but they rarely dominate over lemon/piss/pine :smokin:

I'm trying to figure out what I've done lately. Oh....jarring up the Labyrinth is not necessarily interesting except that there was one branch which was pollinated. I was able to keep up with the branch as it was the variegated branch. It was easy while growing. I eventually found it after a few days drying but it would have been sweet if I had marked it with a piece of fuzzy stick.

The Labyrinth is way too sticky to be trying to de-seed a branch. I wonder who gets this job at the seed breeder's grow house. It's an important job. I bet the head dude does it. There's money and security involved which is a management issue. Oh well. I found a small pack of Labyrinth x Ultra Dawg seeds in there. A proper test of the herb will be done sometime this week. Harsh smoke and powerful right now.

Fx 2 was harvested today on Flower Day 65. Trichomes of milk with only a few ambers seen. Many would consider this early and admittedly it is. It is also the ripeness I'm going to try as this was pheno that more closely grew like the mom. Finger hash was strong but isn't most of it?

Fx 1 will get harvested in next couple of days. She's currently on flower Day 64. Both of these got their pre-harvest portraits done this morning. Have a great day folks. :bongrip:

Yeah Jim, it looks like you're getting a killer harvest this time around!

Congrats on harvest MJ......a very pretty plant grown well. :Namaste:

congrats on the harvest jim thats some nice looking smoke you did a nice job on those girls enjoy your spoils bud!:)
The harvest looks great Jim. Some fine smoke ahead for you.

Cheers friend.

Thanks so much friends....These girls truly look like there might be something there and the buds surely bulked up during the past week. What happens if your first breeding project bombs out? It won't. There's no way combining Master Kush and a landrace Panama could be less than what I imagine. I'll be using 2 ounces (wet weight) tomorrow for a cob cure but I'll have a taste in a couple of days with the remainder. Buds were heavy but likely to be my average.
Then some more seed hunting. :thanks:
Just what plant might I be looking for pics of to get an idea of what is to come?

High JM....The progeny of the Ultra Dawg back cross may look a lot like this mom. Cheers.

Looking lovely as always Jim. A suggestion on marking a pollinated branch, use one of those bread bag clips. They're big enough you can write on them as well.
Thanks Morglie. I just threw one of those away today too. Excellent idea I'd say. Too bad I can no longer give reps.

I put a small bread twist tie on the branch of my Kwazulu I have hopes for very loosely. I do not see any difference in it then the others right now. I have hopes I may get a couple of seeds from it.
